Hi all,

Some astrologers brought to my attention about using real body aspects. Solar Fire has a 3D aspect selection.

I was checking out 3D aspects in charts. What I have found is that Pluto conjunctions, opposition aspects disappear. I have found the same thing happens with the Plutino aspects too. The cubewano aspects don't disappear. Aspects with highly eliptical orbits often disappear.

Pluto and Plutinos have highly eliptical orbits, and so they changed dramatically when it comes to conjunctions and oppositions....Orcus,Huya,and Rhadamanthus are Plutinos.
Cubewanos tend to have stable orbits, and so the aspects changed or slightly changed....Varuna,Quaoar,and Deucalion are cubewanos.

Note: that all the planetary aspects remain the same except for aspects involving Pluto. So do people with Pluto conjunctions and oppositionss really have those Pluto aspects or is it just an illusion? Also they could have entirely different Pluto aspects.

Now that I have looked at 3D aspects, my doubts about Pluto's planetary influence in a regular chart has increased. Pluto aspects can be very significant, but I feel that we probably should check to see if they are present in a true body,3D aspect chart first before coming to the conclusion that Pluto is a strong influence in the chart. We should also check out the other highly elliptical bodies too. I found out that my regular chart Moon sextile Sedna went from 1'04 to 2 minutes of arc when using true body/3D natal aspects.

My true body aspects:

no Pluto aspects

Moon sextile Sedna - '02

Moon square Varuna - '11

Moon trine Quaoar - '39

Moon trine Ixion - 3'16 (consider out of orb..I use 3 degree orb for Pluto and other objects that have 2:3 resonance with Neptune)

Venus square Huya - 2'37

Venus sextile Deucalion - '02

Mercury square Rhadamanthus - '59

Venus trine Orcus - 1'04

An astrologer/astronomer cleared some things up for me about 3D aspects.

The eccentricity of "highly elliptical" orbits has nothing to do with this, it is due to the inclination of the orbit (or the latitude).

A "3D aspect" is measured with the angular or "great circle" distance in the celestial sphere between 2 objects, while the regular aspect is measured along the ecliptic. Regardless of the orbital inclination, when the planet has low latitude the ecliptical distance and the true abgular distance will be nearely the same.

Riyal lists the true angular distance in its aspectarium.

Nothing to do with elliptical orbits. When the oject has high latitude, then conjunctions and oppositions never happen, or happen only rarely.

Not only Pluto... the differences in the conjunction/opposition between the Moon and Venus periodically become dramatic.
