I've read before that Venus in the 1st House [Venus Rising] can be interpretted as Libra Ascendant [when you're searching for information]. Does that mean that if my Sun is in the 12th House, the Sun in Pisces interpretation can be applied to me as well?
Did that even make any sense ?

Good question.

I'll try it.

It doesn't sound right at all. There's something in the question itself. That's kind of a leap in interpretations since the 1st/Rising/Asc is more attached to one's make-up, and molds to the Sun Sign ... it's kind of a leap to then think the same of the 12th.

The 1st House Rules Aries, very out there and in your face. The 12th House Rules Neptune, very inward, introverted, and feely-feely.

Those Planets in the 12th House will have a very unique way of expressing themselves. It will fall within the 12th House.

The Planets in the 1st House are more outward.

The more accurate interpretation would be to read a "Sun in the 12th House" interpretation. If you want to go further into the contrast between both, you can then read a "Sun in Pisces" interpretation, back-to-back, you see?

You will always see similarities between all these similar energies, but then the psychology of it goes one step further in each direction. It no longer becomes a matter of symantics, but more a matter of how the way things really are.

If you have any more on this, feel free ... thanks.

You should be able to find interpretations for Venus in the 1st House, so if you compare that interpretation with Libra rising you'll be able to see the difference between the two.

I have Saturn in the 1st House, and a Gemini Ascendant. If I do that experiment for myself I see that Capricorn Rising seems to agree with my Saturn in the 1st description pretty well. I'm a Capricorn Sun, though, so I have those traits are already dominant in my chart.

I think that if you look into Libra Rising as your *only* interpretation for your Rising sign it's probably a mistake. If you look at Libra Rising as a supplement to whatever your real Rising sign is, then you'd be ok.

Oh, I completely neglected your other question.

Sun in Pisces interpretation will only fit you to a certain degree. Your Sun in it's natural sign will be the most appropriate Sun sign interpretation for you. *Sun in the 12th House* interpretations should give you the pertinent qualities derived from your Sun being in the Pisces-ruled 12th House.

However, if you're curious about what Pisces is all about, then, yes, you should read about Pisces Sun, so you can get an idea of what that House is all about. Of course you could also just read about the 12th House itself instead.

Thanks so much for all your replies! It's been very helpful. The reason I ask though is that, whenever I read about Aquarius in Sun, Moon and Mercury [especially Sun and Moon] which mine are, they don't sound very accurate. They land in the 12th House though, and the description for all three in the 12th House sounds a lot more accurate. So I thought maybe I could get more insight by reading into Sun, Moon and Mercury in Pisces since the 12th House seems to have such a heavy influence on me [not to mention my Ascendant is in Pisces sextile Neptune]. I guess I'm trying to figure out why my Aquarius planets aren't very Aquarian at all and to get more insight into my planets. Any other thoughts?

What I have been taught and read (March & McEvers) is that the planet in a sign is how it will act and the planet in house is where it will act.

But you must also blend in a little of the sign of the natural ruler of the house in question. Therefore, a 12th house Sun can operate somewhat like a Sun in Pisces and have nuances and overtones of Pisces. The same can be said of the Sun in any of the houses.

You also should factor into your interpretation what sign (element?) and house placement Uranus has.
