hmm....I would say fixed signs (Taurus, Leo, Scorpio, Aquarius). I have a Taurus Sun, Leo Moon, and Scorpio Asc and I've been told that I'm VERY stubborn.

I think stubborness can come from more than just the sun sign...I'd also look at a person's other placements (moon, asc, mercury, venus, mars, etc.). But fixed signs are probably the most stubborn signs (at least in my opinion).

In my dealings Taurus and Aqua once they have made up their minds about anything tend to be virtually unmovable. They can be quite powerful but oddly unexpectedly dictatorial.

But most signs I find have a stubborn pulse point somehwere in their personalities. For example, I find Geminis (me) are very stubborn about their freedom and their need for space; Pisces are stubborn about their need to run away and hide without explanation; Scorpio stubborn about their privacy...Aries stubborn about showing and telling everyone how to do or be...etc etc.... I don't know any human beings who do not have at least one itty bitty issue that they dig their heels in on or assert some sort of "I believe superiority".

Lilygirl - exceptionally controlling too for Aqu and Sco. I know as I see it in myself, I'm an Aqu

There are aspects which add to stubborness or at least a very strong will. I have both sun squ uranus and mars trine pluto and this makes me doubly stubborn. It takes me time to form an opinion but once it is made, that's the end.

I have Sun, mercury, venus, pluto (I think it's pluto) in Scorp, moon in Leo, Mars in Aquarius... and like 5/6 planets in the 6th house... everything is very fixed, and yeah I'm very very stubborn!

Look to none other than aquarius for the king of stubborness. Aquarius is an air sign, so to get them to budge you have to show them that their logic is faulty, which is IMPOSSIBLE, because aquarians will just invent their own logic that is perfectly justified in their heads. Don't even try to control or get an aquarius to change. But when they do this to you, make sure you tell 'em to shove it.

I'm quite stubborn... And even a control freak sometimes... Very goal oriented...

And I'm strongly mutable... It doesn't make much sense really...

I suppose Venus-Saturn conjunction in Leo in the 8th makes me emotionally controlling??? Or Pluto in the 11th?

I have no Scorpio (except for Uranus) or Aquarius placements. Empty 6th house...

Virgo Sun and Mercury. Tons of Sag/Jupiter/9th house in my chart.

Im an Aquarius, and I asked this question to a couple of my friends today I wouldnt have to ask my family because I already know what their answers would be.

Well my friends said yes I can be in certain circumstances and depending on what the subject/matter is. I also heard that I was headstrong...which can be a good thing. But if it goes too far...well we all know what that spells.

I believe fixed signs are the most stubborn but they can change. And I noticed, hahaha, even when it looks like they're holding onto their views/position and appear to be stubborn and stuck, they're in fact moving in another direction...my Aquarian self included.

BlueRoamer, if someone can show me my logic is faulty which is not impossible then I would change my mind. No one knows it all so that kind of a statement cannot be true. Aquarians do invent their own logic, but so does everyone else. We just dont believe everything we're told and try to read between the lines...some of us do go too far. But that does not mean you cant backtrack or re-think things, or old issues which you were so gungho over and sure of before. Personally Im always questioning things and always my own ideas, but it could be because Ive got a gemini rising??

Me being a Leo and a fixed sign, i accept that at times i am very stubborn and rigid
but now time has mellowed me down

But my bro is very stubborn, also he would never accept that there is some fault in his logic!! In the end if we try to convince him in some way..he will be like "Ok ok ..fine"
and then will change the topic!! and he is an Aquarius...

Daydreamer - yes we do invent our own logic and that is the reason why we are ahead of all, because we can think in directions that no one else can and have and we can see the link between things that no one else can - wit.

Aleonine - my mum has the nerve to call me stubborn (which I am), but she's an impossible Sco! Your situation reminds me of mine, lol!

I don't think I'm stubborn or fixed. Mutable energy dominates my chart and I pretty much become "jello-like" when someone is trying to push their will on me. Like, I'd just smile and say yes to whatever it is, but when they left, I'd continue doing what I'm set out to fo in the first place. But there's no way I'm stubborn like, say, Taurus. I'd still listen to all sides of the story and the door's always open for me to change my mind, provided I feel it's the right thing to do. I'm a Scorpio Sun, that's true, but I only become immovably determined when it comes to the guy I love. Other than that, I understand that change is the only thing that constant.

daydream32 is correct, its the fixed signs or a preponderance of planets in the fixed houses (2,5,8, or 11) that are stubborn.
The Ascendant sign is included in this.

if the planets are in fixed signs then yes but otherwise no.
The 6th house is a mutable house so its open to compromise or changes.
Mutable houses are progressive because they never stop learning.
Fixed signs learn something untill it works and then resists change. thus Fixed

Yep I find Aquas very stubborn, I've got three planets in scorpio but am a libra sun/Moon, and people are always shocked when I get stubborn....to the point of being immovable, because generally I'm not, it is only when I really care about something that I expand the energy needed for stubborness ...oops libra laziness indicated there.

In my experiences, Taurus and Capricorn are the most stubborn. Taurus the most. Taurus is my way or the highway... I look up to them, regardless of their stubborness. But they have a heart of gold, just like Cappy!

Thanks for the reply re: 6th House lalalinda.

I just wondered if it was one more thing I can pile onto my stubborn pile. Taurus Rising, Stellium in Fixed Signs all the 6th House, Saturn in Capricorn in the 9th, Fixed Uranus/Aquarius influences, including South Node and MC (Midheaven/10th House Cusp).

I mention the Saturn in Capricorn in the 9th because of a discussion we had, I found it possible that placement creates people who need to learn on their own, through first-hand experiences. So while on the one hand it may sound like a "freeing" influence, it appears QUITE like stubborn to those who vow by the books.

Even though I have some Fixed Leo/5th House influences, I really don't feel Leo comes across as being as "stubborn" as other astro influences, in general.

Venus conjunct Pluto
(even though its in mutable Virgo, Pluto is about as fixed (or final) of a planet as they come). This will color Venus

the combination of Venus/Pluto would be stubborn.
Thats the ruler of your Ascendant/Descendant and it has everything to do with your personality and your partnerships.

I have learned that with Pluto and/or Scorpio the trouble starts when you don't live up to their expectations. They expect to get what they give. Which is only right.
But it can get really intense.
Unless you have significant water and/or earth placements you're just not equiped to handle this type of energy.

Cancer Sun / Taurus moon is frightfully stubborn. : ) But in a cute way I think. I but heads with people all the time over paying the bill or who gets to pamper whom. My boyfriend is also a Cancer Sun / Taurus moon - so the two of us together have a gay old time trying to out-stubborn one another.

You know, like you said about needing significant Water and/or Earth to deal with that wealth of energy.

Having a good biorhythm phase helps too!

Wow. Lots of hits on aquarius here. Im an aquarius with sun in the 2nd house and I tend to agree Im pretty fixed and only change if new facts present themselves. Its hard for me to listen to someone and believe they know better bec in general I feel Ive thought longer and harder from more angles and researched said issue more deeply than most. Of course, Im wrong sometimes and have learned to be more humble. Thank God. But yeah, aquarius is def hard to deal with once theyre minds are made up.

Seriously though, while yes the fixed signs are most associated with stubborness, I've also known mutable and cardinal to be quite capable of being very stubborn as well(Pisces and Cappy come to mind), they were just less obvious about their resistence (sometimes passive aggressive about it) than a fixed sign would generally be in my experience.

A fixed sign just digs in. For example, if you wanted to take a fixed sign out somewhere they didn't want to go, they would just out and out say, "no I'm not going to do that". A Pisces might drag their feet to the point where it's too late to go, or something like that, rather than just say "no", and a Cappy will argue with you for three hours about how where you want to go is fundamentally flawed and describe in painstaking detail exactly what is wrong with your plan until you just don't want to go anywhere anymore. LOL
