I recently discovered the Astro Travel horoscope feature on astro.com (I know, I know) but am confused about something. The lines for aspects, etc that show up along the map ... do they affect you only along that specific line or does the influence have a certain "orb" of influence and, if so, does anyone know what it is? Preferrably in miles.
I tried looking for an explanation on the site but either I wasn't thorough enough or it isn't there. Thanks in advance.

Have a few questions for astro.com these days. Did you try emailing them the question?

Thanks, astrojunkie. I went back to the site to email them the question but decided to check the FAQ section one more time. Turns out I hadn't clicked on the right link regarding to my question ... I read Portrait instead of Travel, duh . Anyway, here's the answer to my own question in case anyone else was wondering:
"A stay at such localities is not necessarily required to activate these power zones. The strongest influence is directly on one of these lines. However, the orb of influence extends to a distance of at least 250 km (150 miles) from the line." http://www.astro.com/faq/fq_fh_ac_trav_e.htm

Wow, thanks.

150 miles is a lot!

Did you find out any way to narrow it down?

No. And it says *at least* 150 miles. That makes it pretty tough, I think, to figure out which lines exactly are affecting a certain spot for a person. Though I suppose the further away you are from the line, the less influence it has ... and the influences probably affect each other like regular aspects do; balancing out, etc.
Do you happen to know of a reputable place one can get charts/reports done for temporary and/or permanent moves? I guess that's astrocartography.

Helll no, I really don't. Another way to look at it is allowing one to feel a great deal of freedom in their environment. So, if you try to get to the very center, you'll tend to NOT feel out-of-bounds if you set off into any given direction.

(Can you just imagine the spinster with 255 cats never leaving her square?)

I'm happy with that though. if Astrocartography (Interactive Charts > Click Travel on astro.com) is meant to deliver energy when compared to a Natal Chart, then I guess the rest is up to the Earth and you.

Have you compared it to real live points you've visited, some good, etc.?

Hi
Not only lines are important! Always click "show details"(top right) , cause crossings of the lines located at the same geographical latitude are very significant too- they could be even 5000 miles away
P.S. I have experience living on Uranus/IC line plus crossings Chiron-Pluto, Sun-Chiron and Jupiter-Chiron. It didn't pass unnoticed - i am other person now

Excellent point Jan_A. I didn't see the "show details" link until AFTER I clicked on somewhere (anywhere) on the map. After you click that, there's a pop-up window, and the link "show details" is indeed in the top right.

I'd never thought to do that when I visited. So glad to know.
