Hi, I dont know how to calculate my saturn return but I am 27 (almost 28) and was wondering if I am going through it? If not when will it occur please? My DOB is Oct 8, 1978 4:26AM, Mombasa, Kenya. If there are any particular trends I should know about based on my chart as I go through my Saturn return, I would appreciate any feedback! Thanks a million!

libra,

Around September of next year your Saturn will be returning to its home position in the 12th house (spirituality). This could indicate some sort of "spiritual test" at this time. See what is going on at that time next year...and this will tell you what your Saturn return is all about!

Returning,

Tim

Hi Libra78,

Just wanted to say, hang in there.

My Saturn Return ended last year and I'm still "building" on the revelations/wake-up calls I had. It was a hard time for me, including that I have no Earth in my chart but it certainly helped me gain a real (saturnian) perspective of my life goals and beliefs (saturn in 9th house). I acknowledged limitations in my life plan and starting re-building on more self-awareness.

I like very much astrologer Bernadette Brady's technique on transits. It goes something like this. Because you are having Saturn transit, look at your natal Saturn's house placement, the houses natal saturn rules (I look at Cap and Aq houses) and the angles/planets aspected by transiting and natal saturn. So it would be looking at:

*Self-expression (5th H)
*Spirituality (12th H)
*Dealing with ambition and your role in the world (12th house Saturn)
*Daily routines,health, your work techniques (6th H)
*How you present yourself to others (saturn conjuncts your Asc, and transiting Saturn will conjunct Asc) and how this will start showing (awakening from the 12th house vibrational essence)
*Virgo in the Asc is ruled by a 2nd house Mercury that is conjunct to Pluto, so also 2nd house themes (talents, self-worth, money you earn) with Pluto (ambition, transformation...) and Mercury undertones. See that Mercury also rules your MC, so look for vocational/public standing things going on.

One great way to prepare for a Saturnian transit is to start reflecting about those themes (the houses affected) in a "saturnian" way (building/ambitions/social standing) because those are the energies (saturnian) you will be feeling/getting/experiencing (within and from others).

You have plenty of Earth, so go for it!

Due to my Saturn Return, I started studying astrology in a very avid way. Hope some of my ideas will ring some bells in the following months and year. I'm learning like all of us (longtime passion) so it helps me to try to help you.

As a note, I started noticing the effects one year and a half before the actual contact but it got really stronger some months before the first hit (I had 3, each as a reminder). But that is just personal, and again, with no Earth in my chart, it was a very strong thing for me.
Take care,
Angie

Tim: Thanks for letting me know!

Angie: Thanks for the breakdown. My astrology really isnt up to par unfortunately, so I would like to ask why you said to look a Aq houses in addition to Cap? Also why the 5th house?
I can say that routine is not my strong point at all. I am horrible at it (rebellious towards it?) and my sleep/wake cycles are all crazy. Luckily my work allows me to work at any time, but sleeping in late everyday does not vibe well with those around me... will Saturn return demand I change?
I am in a serious relationship right now and we may be tieing the knot in Summer, will the Saturn return impact this and be positive/negative?
Im curious about this whole Virgo asc/ mercury/ pluto connection do you have any more clues in this regard?
I am not very status conscious (I try not to be) but I would like to be successful with my work. I think I am becoming more aware of them because of reasons mentioned above...
Thanks Angie! L78

L78,

I’ll explain. I use a lot the old rulers, so Saturn rules Cap and Aquarius in my terms. Of course, Aquarius has Uranus as main ruler.

As I said, having Saturn Return means having Saturnian vibrations in the agenda for you (same would happen with other Saturn transits…I’m having Sat opp Venus pretty soon and I am noticing it a lot), so I look at where natal Saturn is placed, aspects with other planets and houses ruled by Saturn.

Because Saturn is conjunct your ascendant, I also look at the ascendant themes to be involved as well as the ruling planet (your case, Mercury) and the houses it rules. That’s why I mentioned all those houses and that is why I mention Mercury and the strongest aspects Mercury has in your chart (Pluto…).

Through this transit, you will change and grow and that will reflect on yourself and on your environment (when you change, your self-perception changes and so your attitude and therefore others will perceive and experience you differently…such is life). I don’t look at predictions per se, so couldn’t tell you about your partner. And also, I think it’s too personal.

If you are aware of the tendencies you have (i.e. routines) and that you might want to change, take advantage of all the Saturnian vibrations that you will start having soon to implement those changes. Saturn as a planet wants to be seen as an authority and in the 12th house, it’s not that comfortable. After your Saturn Return, the planet will cross your Asc, so those changes in your life will be very useful to build the right foundation for your life goals. You will be more organized in many ways and you will be doing a lot of pruning.

Good luck and lots of inspiration.

Thanks Angie, I understand better what you meant about cap and aqua now, as well as the role of mercury.
I appreciate your guidance and good wishes
