Because I guess its the most primal representations and everyone understands their characteristics - eg everyone knows that lion is king and proud, ram is headstrong, scorpio stings. Remember also the constellation's bits are named after things that just happened to be around. Also don't forget there is a fair share of non-animal sings - Aquarius, Libra (the only non-living sign), Sag (part), Virgo, Gemini. Yeah, it is odd.Except Gemini, Virgo & Aquarius - Virgo should SO be an air sign. Oh, and of course Libra…being inanimate and all…bless ‘em

Oh no Virgo just couldn't - despite them being mercurial, I still also find them slow, heavy and earthy. They operate in the world of money and practicalities, not concepts like us airy people. IP: Logged |

I agree, Virgo is very much Earth. Again, Vulcan its true ruler not Mercury!

Yeah, I didn't even realize it was the ONLY Sign that was not animate until quite recently! But probably because there's usually a blindfolded hot mama holding the Scales. (hee hee...) I think it's valid that they named the Constellations after things they could characterize around them at that moment in time. But then, I start to hear the Twilight Zone theme song ... ... how do we know there weren't more "alien" contributions? ------------------ ... it's better to light a candle than curse the darkness IP: Logged |
