Just thinking about jupiter. Do you think you can determine what someone's sense of humour is depending on which sign their Jupiter falls in. For example: Jup in Sco - black humour Jup in Aries - direct, slapstick Jup in Gem - the wit behind humour, satire Jup in Aqu - finding oddities funny, maybe parodies etc What do you think? Virgo I imagine might be along the same lines of Gemini as both are ruled by virgo.Cancer - not sure, maybe humour that taps deep into emotions? Anyway, Jup is exalted in Cancer, so it should help in a persons sense of humour? Its just thoughts that are going through my head; I'm not even sure if this is a viable theory, just something that I thought of. IP: Logged |

I have Jupiter in Pisces..My sense of humour is very weird but adaptable. I know how to make anyone smile. I don't find other people's jokes very funny so it makes me look serious and condescending when I don't laugh :P I can find humour in anything though for my own purpose.. keep things on the light side! 23 -A Planet like Jupiter makes me think of what the relationship is between that Planet and the Sign it's in FIRST. From that, I would think of humor. The reason I connect it like that is what little I know of humor, and psychology, and the brain. I think it's a fantastic question. On paper, the mini list (theories) make complete sense, but I'm not sure if I could sort of apply it. Jupiter in Scorpio = "black humour" - that makes sense to me, but then, I love that and my Jupiter is in Capricorn. I'm not arguing your point, just sort of laying out what I got. Movies like Fargo, American Beauty, etc. I'm the only nut in the theater laughing sometimes, you know? But usually, everyone else is afraid to laugh. THAT I don't get, but anyways ... I don't need pre-game show. Jupiter in Aries, you bring up slapstick, I think 3 Stooges, and I'm like the only chick I know. Everything you said makes sense, but I feel like it's all the above. But maybe, take Sagitarrius (for Jupiter), put together with Scorpio. Lot's of satire, sarcasm, boisterous, etc. Sagittarius (for Jupiter), put with Aries. Painting the town red, bringing down the house, shooting from the hip. It's not more correct, just maybe provides a little bit more specificity. Example: Maybe Jupiter in Aries would not find a funny "delightful" romance as funny as Eddie Griffin's "Dysfunktional Family" Live on stage -- etc. ------------------ ... it's better to light a candle than curse the darkness IP: Logged |

My Jupiter is in Leo...I guess I find it funny when people act pompous...(how about other leo jupiters?) Well here's an example... Yesterday (Sept 23rd) we celebrated my brother's birthday...so I thought it was funny I would belt out happy birthday off key AND also replace... "Happy Birthday to YOU" with "Happy birthday to ME" and... "Happy Birthday dear BROTHER'S name" with "Happy birthday dear MY name" Just to show how special he is to me IP: Logged |

libraschoice7 -Your Jupiter in Cancer? Anything in Cancer requires humor to survive. Like, when they say Cancers were coal mineworkers in a previous incarnation, might have stuggled with low energy or lung problems or pressure in the chest. Laughter is perfect for that. What House is your Jupiter in Cancer in? 23 -
Also, take it a step further when considering the House it's in, right? How I would relate that to my Natal Jupiter in Capricorn in the 9th House, I enjoy humor where a lot of thought and seriousness was put into it. Not vulgarity for the sake of vulgarity. When the comedy is edited and re-edited, it comes out meaningful. Now as far as humor in everyday life, not a movie I'm watching, it comes out about the same, except that the "thought & seriousness" quota is the sum of my life experiences up to that moment. Jupiter in Capricorn in the 9th questions why people do the things they do a lot, so when you take a very ethical approach to life and see irony all day long, it becomes a lot like a classical Monty Python Holy Grail kind of experience. The ridiculousness comes about because of the backdrop, or the premise. Hope that helped. Jupiter in Capricorn in the 9th secretly likes to make people laugh, and will go about somewhat odd ways of doing it, because the humor ultimately desires to be useful. ------------------ ... it's better to light a candle than curse the darkness IP: Logged |

Astrojunkie - Cap Jup could also mean such as poking fun at authorities, businesses etc maybe.I understand the Monty Python side as it involves them being serious and dour in their act but what they are doing is incredibly silly. I have Jup conj Asc in Aries and in the 1st house. I believe that this enhances my sense of humour a lot (I tend laugh at things that others don't even laugh at). I have been told that I have excellent sense of humour (thankfully). I find all types of comedy funny. I think most of what I like though is a sharp wit (mostly to do with my heavily air chart) however, I believe that spontaneous humour is funnier than planned humour (like what you might like) because it involves speed and wit and it is quick and spontaneous, taking the situation and running with it - this is prob Aries. I do admit that I find things like Jackass incredibly funny though, someone falling over (and other accidents seen in Funniest Home Video shows) and foodfights - those probably are aries type humour - a bit of slapstick, a few projectiles and fast. Another thing that I find incredibly funny is fights in foreign parliamentary houses like in Japan, Russia and Korea - when they bash each other with phones and hit each other. Now thats funny and very Arian! IP: Logged |

libraschoice7 -That makes me think of even MORE containment with all of that, and the Moon in Cancer is in the 12th House - lack of optimism sometimes? You go from being a total homebody, to then suddenly become very social, then back away again? I don't know, it sounds claustrophibic to me, but maybe your personal experience is completely different. ------------------ ... it's better to light a candle than curse the darkness IP: Logged |

AstroJunkie, I wouldn't call my Moon and Jupiter in 12th house clausterphobic, it's more of a feeling of being emotional seperated or isolated from others(being on your on mood plane). It's hard to have others understand where I am coming from, it seems like to much distance. It's a lonely position at times I wish I could trade it for a 10th or 9th house Moon along with Jupiter.
