Do you think the position of venus can determine these? I mean communicating ideas would be ruled by mercury but the physical ability to speak and the tone of voice would be venus right? Then you'd look to this and aspects formed by venus. I have venus in Sag and have noticed for a femme that I have a quite deep voice. I'd say because my venus is deposited by Jupiter, it would be quite a "large", "loud", "jolly" and "deep" (but not throaty) voice. My venus is unaspected (if you don't count a chiron trine), so it could be purely Sag sounding. I have noticed those with Tau venus have quite deep, throaty voices. What do you think? Can you think of any clear examples? (One example is Bart Simpson's voice, Nancy Cartwright has venus in sco but squaring ura in leo - a uniqueness and quirkiness to her voice).

Interesting.Well...I am not sure if it's just Venus. It could also be Mercury too...after all,it is planet of communications. Also..if you use Venus, you might as well as use the 2nd house because that's the house ruled by Venus. Mercury/3rd does have to do with communications I have the book,THE RULERSHIP BOOK BY Rex E Bills. It says that voice, vocal organs is Mercury,3rd house,Taurus, and 2nd house I am very softspoken with a highpitch, and that gets me mistaken for being gay. A lot of people told me that I sound like Michael Jackson. Some said Mike Tyson too. I sound feminine or androgenous. I also sound much younger than my age. I also had 3 yrs intensive speech therapy in special education in my early elementary school school years. Some people with Dyspraxia have problems coordinating speech, and I am one of them. My speech problems were also Dyslexic-related because I used to turn things around when I heard stuff(auditory reversals) and so I spoke that way. I also tend to clutter and mumble. I also have history of word retrieval issues. I often have hesitant speech and need to pause for a moment to come up with words to say. I can say the wrong words. Just think of President Bush, and you will get the picture. Some say that he's Dyslexic because of those speech issues that he has. He does share Neptune in 3rd house like me.
I have 1st/6th house ruler Mercury conj 2nd/9th house ruler Venus in Scorpio in 3rd house. I also have Mercury-Venus-Neptune parallel that is contraparallel Saturn.
I have 7th house ruler Neptune conjunct 4th/7th house ruler Jupiter in Sagittarius in 3rd house oppose retrograde Saturn in Gemini in 9th,square Moon in Pisces in 6th for t-square. I also have 3rd house ruler,Pluto in Libra in 1st sextile Neptune in 3rd. I also have traditional 3rd house ruler Mars in Aquarius in 6th square Venus in 3rd and square Neptune in 3rd. Now for planets in 2nd house.....I have unaspected, oriental planet Uranus in Libra and Sun in Scorpio quincunx Saturn. midpoints: Mercury conj Sun/Neptune midpoint Mars square Mercury/Neptune midpoint Mars oppose Mercury/Saturn midpoint As you see, I have numerous indicators for speech problems. I will explain Dyspraxia in how it affects communications. Developmental verbal dyspraxia is a type of ideational dyspraxia, causing linguistic or phonological impairment. Key problems include: * Difficulties controlling the speech organs. * Difficulties making speech sounds * Difficulty sequencing sounds o Within a word o Forming words into sentences * Difficulty controlling breathing and phonation. * Slow language development. * Difficulty with feeding. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Verbal_Dyspraxia The reason that I am showing this is to raise awareness of people with Dyspraxic-related speech problems. A lot of people get unfairly misjudged by how they talk, and I am definitely one of them. Just because we talk "funny" doesn't mean that we are immature,stupid,gay,shy,personality-disordered,nor mentally ill. It could be because of our speech coordination problems. Too many people are ignorant about Dyspraxia,Dyslexia,Autism, and other neurodivergent conditions.

I have mercury and venus in Libra conjunct in the twelvth house. They also conjunct my asc. I have a beautiful speaking voice-I've been told this most of my life. It's clear, well paced, expressive almost melodious. People who don't know me and hear me speak assume I can sing well, also. LOL! I have a tin ear when it comes to carrying a tune. I'm all over the place. The odd thing is though, when I listen to other people sing I can pick up on their mistakes-even when it isn't blatant. I can change my speaking voice for accents and timbre, though I can't mimic other peoples voices per say-just generalized patterns. Hope this helps answer your question. ------------------ Sun Virgo, moon Pisces, Libra rising, mercury venus 12th house all conjunct, Mars Leo. IP: Logged |

Yeah, I don't think its venus. Because I have venus in gemini in the 5th (unaspected singleton as well) and I have a more errrr... husky voice. Unless gemini is associated with huskiness of voice. I also have mercury in cancer in the 6th trine pluto and opposite neptune. There was this girl who was born three days after me and we were told we both have the same laugh. Although we share the same venus placement (gemini) and the same mercury placement plus aspects to mercury, her voice is alot higher than mine. IP: Logged |

I really don't think it has anything to do with Venus either. I've been singing since I was old enough to talk, and I've done a lot of solos in school and stuff. My mercury is in Virgo in the 9th and my Venus is in Scorpio in the 11th, btw. IP: Logged |

Most famous singers have strong Mercury aspects with Venus, and/or Uranus, and/or Pluto. Check out Whitney Houston, Mariah Carey, Celine Dion etc. Even Janet Jackson who technically can't sing, I believe she has a trine of Mercury and Pluto. IP: Logged |

I would think Mercury in aspect to Neptune too. After all, Neptune is said to be higher octave of Venus. It is also a planet that is associated with music and poetry. Mercury-Neptune can be about communicating with sensitivity, inspiration that fits well with music and singing.IP: Logged |

Awesome I write poetry every day and I listen to music constantly. If I'm not listening to music I have a song in my head and I'll be singing along all the time.I often voice my thoughts to myself as well.. I'm very vocal when I'm alone but I can go without speaking in a group for ages.. It's funny. IP: Logged |

shirty, I checked for Mercury-Venus,Mercury-Neptune connections via midpoints for you. You have Mercury conj Venus/Neptune midpoint with 20 minutes of arc,Uranus conjunct Mercury/Neptune midpoint with 42 minutes of arc,Moon conjunct Mercury/Neptune midpoint with 48 minutes of arc
These are possible manifestations for the midpoint configurations. There a lot that you might relate to and a lot you might not relate to. Therefore, take these intepretations with grain of salt. Please keep in mind that all won't apply to you. Interps from Ruth Brummond's Rulebook.
Moon conj Mercury/Neptune midpoint MO.ME.NE. + intuitive. highly imaginative. daydreams. private; drawn to obscurities. hesitates. mediumistic. preoccupied with metaphysical issues. capable at psychology. Discussion of a obscure woman. To think about a woman's secrecy. Invisible vehicle. - deluded. secretive. evasive. deceptive. indecisive. easily swayed. indifferent. apathetic. unrealistic. unconscious. To talk about confusion due to the wife. Mercury conj Venus/Neptune midpoint ME.VE.NE. + inspired. imaginative in speaking and writing. empathic. subtle. aesthetically conscious. daydreams. charmed. delighted. romantic. future-oriented. interested in non-concrete or abstract topics and themes. Secret encounter. Romantic inclinations. - fanatical. gushing. deluded. superficial. unrealistic. disloyal. unstable. inconstant. Fleeting acquaintance. Fanaticism in love. Loves to spin yarns. Discussion of doubtful relationships. Inharmonious discussion. Fruitless hopes. Disappointing encounter. Uranus conj Mercury/Neptune midpoint ME.UR.NE. + intuitive. has quick comprehension. has a lively imagination. inspired. resourceful. inventive. progressive. future-oriented. interested in metaphysics. Glaucus Thank you for the interpretations.. very different way of putting things. I haven't read anything like it actually. No interpretations for any of my chart have mentioned the same kind of issues. But they are eerily accurate.. a lot of the negatives are things I do not like to admit I am very drawn to the obscure, non-concrete, metaphysics, etc. I am always discussion relationships and not living them. I am very indecisive, and definitely a fanatic in love. Haha. Loved that one. I don't really understand the part about 'vehicles'. Could you elaborate? The thing about sudden absentmindedness was creepy! I draw blanks so often.. and lose my grounding. I frustrate myself because I just can't focus properly. When I have a problem with someone I will think it through and then when we talk about it, I end up lost. I finish the discussion having accomplished nothing, in fact, having dug myself deeper. When I talk to people it is to discuss issues, search for answers.. I don't talk for the sake of talking. But a good philosophical discussion will make me feel better any day.. The part about radio and tv is cool because it's been one of my secret dreams.. not sure if I'll end up doing that though. Interpreter seems more likely now. thanks for the reading i loved it! You're welcome, shorty.I have no idea about the vehicles stuff. Mercury has to do with short distance travel and not just communications. 3rd house too. IP: Logged |

OK, to expand, I have Tau on my 2nd house cusp and unaspected Venus in Sag (9th). My third house is ruled by Gemini and retro mercury is in Aqu (10th) - conj sun, opp sat, squ ura. My voice has not really been really commented on; it is quite unremarkable apart from a bit of depth for a girl. However, I can mimic things very well - bird noises, characters - that has to be merc aqu squ ura. Otherwise, for singing, I am completely tone deaf and my tone is unremarkable again. I've recently wanted to take it up - God knows why! Because I have all that mercury junk, aparently I have been told that my communication is quite structured but then all of a sudden I will trail off onto another topic and then get back on to the original topic. My mind does tend to work in bursts. But again, that is to do with thought patterns and communicating ideas - not the sound of my voice (which I still believe venus to have the upperhand in). I think maybe mercury might set the speed of delivery maybe and any delivery issues. It is known that Gemini rules chest, Taurus rules throat. So mercury (with house 2) starts the communication with its speed, hesitation etc and then Tau (with house 2) ads the final colour (or tone) to the speech as the wind passes through the throat.
