What signs/aspects in the chart would indicate a person who is extremely self absorbed...to the point of being so oblivious and unaware that all around him were well on their way to..

Like he talked about himself for a LONG time, until he was asked to let others speak....

Can you imagine the length of his posts if he were to be a knowflake

Having alot of planets on the left side of the chart thats one, also having a ton of Mars aspects. Add heavy Sun aspects to that list as well(because Sun represents the ego, and hence too much Sun could be too much ego going on).

I have a project manager who sounds like that. Every conversation was autobiographical and I spent a lot of time smiling and nodding = \. Calling ppl out on self-absorption kinda makes me feel very, very guilty though (maybe because there is a narcissist, in varying degrees, in all of us...?), but I guess if it's very overt and developmentally stunting, it should be addressed... But anyway, I looked up her chart and she has this aspect:

Sun conjunct Mercury:
You have a good mind, and you enjoy talking with people. A good conversation means more to you than many other things, but you may have one problem. This aspect indicates that you like to take the active role in any discussion; that is, you are a better talker than a listener. To a certain extent you can't help this, but if you are conscious of it, you can prevent it from becoming a difficult problem.

I hope that helps!

Either that or most of his planets may be in the first fourth of his chart.

I think Sun conjunct Mercury could make you appear that way. I have this with Mars but I dont think Im that bad because the planets are in Aqua and Im very sensitive to my surroundings because of my Pisces moon.

When Im talking I feel more comfortable talking about myself as an example, as a way to relate, than others because I dont want to misinterpret/misrepresent other people, or put my foot in my mouth.

I usually can tell when Im talking too much about myself.

Right, right. I think that kind of self-awareness is a great thing. Detailing your experiences is also a good way to show that you are credible with your advice. Besides, my life is pretty uneventful so listening to other ppl's stories can be quite a lot of fun.

I think the problem with this woman was that she was also a compulsive liar. Good intentions, I think, but a lot of visible overcompensating... Perhaps this was the problem that Sue had with the chatty fellow.

My b/f's got Sun conjunct Mercury but is definitely not self-absorbed. He just has a way with words (sweet-talker) and he's a Libra.

Thanks guys for your comments...

I must say that it wasnt so much the fact that he talked of himself all the time, but that he didnt talk about astrology but "other" stuff. He told us he was into drag and nylon and lyrcra...hehe...

We were there for a discussion on astrology and he would have gone off on one for hours if we hadnt diverted the course of the conversation back to astrology...

Uranus maybe....??

Very interesting fellow indeed...

Can anyone guess his sun sign?

I have this friend of mine who is exactly like that! Ugh!

A few weeks ago I was at my wits end listening to him ramble and I tried to interject and he snapped "just let me finish!" at me! LOL!!!

I was like... dude, you've been talking for at least 10 minutes straight!!! Probably more!!!

He has Mercury in Gemini and he's an extremely emotional Cancer (Moon conjunct Sun!).

I think I am like this too, but I am really conscious of it, so if I have been talking about myself a bit, I will mak a point of asking the other person about them, or give them a chance to direct the conversation towards something they wanna share or talk about. I have the Sun conjunct Mars and opposed Jupiter and this opposition forms a trine sextile to my ASC/DC. so... yeah... I'm a bit ego driven (Sun/Mars in the 5th too).

The other week, me and the Cancer had a huge falling out (we were FRIENDS... I made that very clear all along), and he launched into this whole "woe-is-me" tirade about all his emotional hurts of the past. I swear he talked for 2 hours and all I said was "yeah, yeah... uuuhh... yeah"... It was completely weird and inappropriate and he had no sense of how much he was creeping me out or how much he was friggin' talking and needed to shut up. At some points, I thought he was crying... it was way too intense and strange, like I set him off somehow...

I only let him continue because I was scared and didn't want to set him off even further. He seemed to have lost it!

Now he's acting like I'm mean, because I've cut off all contact, but just like with a simple conversation, he can't seem to take cues as to when to back off. He doesn't take a hint! He doesn't think.

And with me, he didn't need a hint that was the 3rd time I had flat out told him, we were not heading to boyfriend/girlfriend land. The last time I told him, he acted like I was flattering myself and that he was totally cool being friends.

Anyhow, I think I just did what we were talking about myself (lol).. but really this guy is something else. I feel he really does have good intentions and is a good person, but he's just very subjective or self-absorbed or something, he won't listen to cues or hints from others and he flat out IGNORES what you tell him outright. It's crazy.

This is his chart:

Scarily, I just realized his Mars is exactly square my Sun/Mars. Ugh!!
