Thank you AG for pulling things together and getting the word out through the transient website and finding a solution to the temporary problem. http://www.forumspring.com/transient/viewtopic.php?t=8&mforum=transient Thorshammer, Your research really kicked butt, thank you for finding the problem and showing us how to solve it. To all those that rallied together, spiritually, financially and with all the good thoughts that have been send to LL THANK YOU!!!! Randall -
You are the man!! I know it has to be hard with your busy schedule and having to run / pay for this site. Thank you for all that you do. Suggestions: 1) LindaLand belongs to all of us and by that I mean we need to all pull together to help her keep going. I would like to see a gauge that shows us how much we need to raise to meet our monthy or quarterly goals financially. If we have "thermometer" at the top of each page we'll know if more contributions are needed. There will be no pressure to pay, no registration fees, just a gentle reminder of how to keep our site afloat 2) We need some type of system that will allow us to contact each other. I love the MSN photoshop because there is an option to e-mail everyone that is signed up. At the same time- let's get the word out for people to check it if the site is ever down for news and information. http://groups.msn.com/LindalandPhotoShop AG made a cute site, I think we should keep that option open as well. I will be putting this on several forums. I really think people pulled together and it was a beautiful sight to see!!! Lot's of Love!!! ~Pidaua

Personally, I am offended by AG's Lindaland replica. I mean, starting a temporary Forum (or a few of them) was a good idea...but to copy Lindaland's Forums to the letter was insulting. That's how I felt anyway upon seeing it.------------------ "There is no use trying," said Alice; "one can't believe impossible things." "I dare say you haven't had much practice," said the Queen. "When I was your age, I always did it for half an hour a day. Why, sometimes I've believed as many as six impossible things before breakfast." Lewis Carroll IP: Logged |

[Randall] Noted. I hope you realize why it was done, and how little effort it took to set up. I knew some would question my having done it simply because it's me, but my thought was that it was best that people have somewhere to congregate. I didn't even think of LL PhotoShop til I'd already created it.I'm a little offended that you chose to take offense to it considering that no one had heard from you regarding the site even at LL PhotoShop. Do you not think that everyone would want to find a way to stay together if this site somehow got permanently shut down? Without word from you (and I know specific people who emailed you, because I gave them your address) what were people supposed to think? Even after hearing from Thorshammer what happened you've seen how I answered the question about what happened. I also emailed a good number of people (30-35) when LL was back up. Part of the reason I was able to do that was because they'd signed up at the temporary site. As to copying LL to the letter, which may be the most offensive part for you, I only did it that way, so it would feel like home while we were without home. As you no doubt noticed, almost none of the forum was actually used. IP: Logged |

I signed up just today, when I heard about it here, because I thought it was clever and sweet ... sorry that it offended you, Randall. I think it was more of an hommage, rather than a 'replacement' nobody knew what was happening.I'm glad LL is back again. How do we ensure it doesn't happen again?

Randall, I am sorry you felt that way. I never thought of what AG did was in any way to put down the site. In fact, he even calls it the transient astro site. At the time, no one knew what was going on and I think we (he) scrambled to put up something that felt a bit like home even if it wasn't. Because of that site he was able to reach out to more people and through his e-mail contacts he also was able to have more and more knowflakes flock to MSN and help correct the problem. Nothing will ever replace LL, nothing will ever compare to it. In this case, I really don't think AG was at all trying to offend anyone. It was an innocent way of helping. IP: Logged |

It was my goal to get LL back on-line in a day or so...not to individually answer dozens of e-mails; however, I was about to post at Photoshop to reassure everyone, but the site was back up sooner than expected. I am not questioning your motives, AG...simply stating what I felt when I saw LL replicated. ------------------ "There is no use trying," said Alice; "one can't believe impossible things." "I dare say you haven't had much practice," said the Queen. "When I was your age, I always did it for half an hour a day. Why, sometimes I've believed as many as six impossible things before breakfast." Lewis Carroll IP: Logged |

I see what you are saying Randall. Making a site was a good idea, but the fact that it's a replica bothers me also.Like Pidaua said, for the time being it was a place to substitute, that would feel like e-home.. but now LL's back so there's no reason to have it. It could be a good idea to keep it, in case anything ever happens at LL in the future, with that I agree.. but Acoustic, please don’t keep it in THIS particular setup.. This is the setup for Linda Goodman as Randall made it.. I don't mean to be rude.. but I honestly think it's very inappropriate to keep your site in the exact same setup, now that LL is back. It feels like a copy. IP: Logged |

I just noticed you said this.. I don't know what you mean by that. You are very loved here, everyone likes you and you post loads. I've had my differences with you in the past, but if someone else had done the same thing I would've felt the same way.. It isn't because it's *you* at all. I have no idea why you'd feel that way. It's not like anyone has a problem with you. IP: Logged |

I don't intend to keep it up. Just thought I'd let it linger for a little while longer, so people can see what this is about. I locked all the open threads.EDIT: I just asked for it to be removed. IP: Logged |

Please.. no one should feel bad about this. It was beyond our control and Randall we know you work extremely hard. I am sorry that you were offended. In any case.. let's see the positive side to it all. WE knowflakes know how to come together now don't we? We put our bias aside and went forward to figure things out. I commend all your work Randall and again - there is no place like LL . Lots of LOVE!!! IP: Logged |

Randall, you have everyone's email address, why couldn't you just send a group email letting us know? I would have donated money if I had known that was the issue. I still can't confirm that was the issue, but anyway, good to have this site back! IP: Logged |

Pid, always good to see you. Thanks for the photoshop link~lalalinda, how do you get there? I always find the old link in FFA. Also, I later realised Randall probablly didn't have access to his member's profiles/emails once the site went down. Randall, thanks for having us~ IP: Logged |
