Hi all,

Have recently had cause to rethink my other half's time of birth due to something his mum and dad said - they'd originally said "he was born in time for the pubs opening" (which in the UK in 1966 was 11am) and his dad had said that it was about half an hour before.

I'd thought that was a bit odd seeing as you wouldn't go through the excitement and nervousness of your son's birth only to see him pop into the world and leave almost immediately to go round for a pint?!! His mum said she thinks it was about an hour before which would put him at around 9.55 - 10am perhaps.

That places his ascendant right on the cusp of Pisces and Aries which now makes an awful lot of sense to me. He's a very placid and dreamy soul a lot of the time, fascinated by the occult and other and only occassionally do I hear him boast or embody the whole "me first" thing of Aries - I do find that cute!

But the main thing I noticed when I looked at this new chart was that he has nothing in his 7th house. I wondered what that means... can anyone enlighten me?

Flippant answer first: yes he does! He has a lovely Libran lass in his (7th) house

Here's a string and links on Empty Houses: http://www.linda-goodman.com/ubb/Forum1/HTML/010048.html
With (one of) the 7th house rulers (Venus) in XI and conjunct his Moon (see http://www.cafeastrology.com/natal/moonvenusaspects.html ) there's the potential for events in the 7th, especially when Moon/Venus are triggered by transits. Gotta run, hon -- I'll try to get back to this later.

Hi Zala hon! Hope you're well

Thanks so much for your lovely reply! Found that info very useful on the other thread - particularly this bit...

quote:
Strictly speaking it is incorrect to say that a house is empty. Even though there may be no planets in that house, there is still a sign (or signs) placed there which will influence that sphere of experience. Thus, the first step in interpreting what is happening in an untenanted house is to relate the qualities of the sign or signs found there to the area of life associated with the house in quesiton. The second step is to refer to the planet which rules the sign on the cusp of the ‘empty’ house. What house is the ruling planet in? What sign is the ruling planet in? How is the ruling planet aspected? In this way, we glean a great deal of information about the house in question. The third step is to examine the planet which rules any other signs found in that house (not just the sign on the cusp). Where is that planet by house, sign and aspect?

So the sign that is on the cusp of his 7th house is Virgo. He has his Uranus and Pluto in Virgo so I wonder if that means that relationships are for him, full of new ideas, forward thinking and above all transformational? And re the Virgo influence, I would then guess that he examines and analyses his relationships very closely and clinically, picking each little detail to pieces and putting it under the mental microscope. Am I on the right track with that sort of reasoning or am I just clutching at straws?

And then I suppose I'd need to look at Mercury (being Virgo's ruler) - he has his Mercury in Capricorn in the 11th house. Friendship is definitely a strong focus in his life and so I would imagine it's important to him that his relationships are first and foremost friendships, which is entirely in keeping with his Aqua Sun.

The Capricornian influence is very noticeable funnily enough - the way he comminicates feelings especially is extremely tight lipped and guarded and almost 'formal' at times. It makes me giggle sometimes and at others when my Merc Scorpio is desperate for some passionate romance, it drives me mad, however I do understand him - must be my Cap Moon

Just read some of the other threads and that's really interesting about someone's 7th house indicating their 1st marriage and their 9th representing their 2nd.

Neither Garry or I have anything in our natal 9th houses and only I have a planet in my natal 7th. This is of course, assuming I've finally got his time of birth as correct as possible!

Hey you share the same birthday with me!! Although next year I will be changing it to the 10th or at least just celebrating it. Having no planets in 7th isn't good or bad, it just means that the area isn't so heavily emphasized like the other house with planets. Lets just say it's there, the relationship minus the stress, which is good in most peoples eyes, plus you have so much else thats good going on in the chart.

While he has no planets in 7th House in your synastry YOU lighten up his 7th House considerably . Also, I like that his 7th house falls into you 4th and 5th.

Thanks guys!

Wow so you're a 4th Oct gal as well are you libraschoice?? Happy belated birthday hon and hope you had a good day Yep it is for the most part a stress-free relationship - the only stress is introduced by the fact that we have such markedly different ways of expressing our feelings and sometimes that can make for misunderstandings and hurt feelings on my part. But on the whole, it's lovely.

Hi Kamilla
Thanks for that, that made me glow Forgive me because I'm still learning so much, but why do you particularly like the fact that his 7th falls into my 4th/5th?

I just really hope I've finally got his time of birth as near to being correct as possible! Being a Pisces/Aries Asc cusp makes more sense re his character though, and I think it makes more sense with the times that his parents have come up with.
