7 squares = join my club

i, too, a lot of squares/afflictions to my moon..

planet wise...sun, venus, pluto
but also ceres and pholus
and not to mention some of the remaining planets forming quincuxes (jupiter and neptune) and a lovely opposition from Mars

for me, I just notice that I have serious emotional issues that usually manifest with me needing to control my emotions, show some emotion, or stop projecting my emotions onto other people. in some way, though, it always comes back to my inner security, need to be nurtured and "cared" about, and need to express emotions.

and because of that issue ^ i tend to have issues with relationships...because with all these aspects toying with my emotions, i've got a tight trine from Saturn to my moon, and that opposition I mentioned is from an Aqua Mars that hates emotion of any kind.. so it is a tough one to deal with.

i have issues with women too, though i am of the species myself.

a lot of astro sites say if the moon is heavily afflicted there was an issue with the parents, or the mother in particular..

which is interesting to me because i'm so attached to mine and have no issues with her what-so-ever, so i guess the type of issues can go either way

anyway to make a long story short, i find it can go either way... I've got a VERY tight Pluto/Moon square. Sometimes when they get out of wack, I use this to reel myself in and take control, or (because this causes me to get wounded very deeply when I do), use that emotional energy to take action with something I've been lax about. (Maybe because I have Mars in the 4th, however...)

I think makes more sense that it can go either way, and that is swings back and forth from time to time in everyones life between being used beneficially and *fn* up and using it negatively...it's just human nature, I suppose..

I think harsh aspects to the Moon mean diffuculty in efficiently integrating emotions and insticnt to the energies of other planets.

I have 8 harsh aspects to the Moon, but I don't know if a Saturn, Uranus, and Neptune Conjunction count.

So far it Quincunxs my Sun, Squares my Mars, Ceres, and MidHeaven, and Opposes my Chiron.

As for how I feel, I've noticed that it's hard for me to show affection. Not that I don't have affection per se, I just have a hard time expressing it because it makes me feel awkward. I guess it's because I am aware of how I react and interact, so sometimes reactions and interactions are wihtout sincerity. Strangley enough, I'm also very senstive; especially when it comes to the reactions of others. It's not hard to make me cry. Light jokes I could handle, but not when the person really means what they mean.

I also feel that I get along better with the opposite sex than I do with the same sex. I've only had one close friend who was a girl. And she was in someways similar to me.

let us all leave the dark ages behind and join this century, shall we? plz STOP using words like 'afflicted' - they put ppl down WITHOUT just cause.

there's no such thing as a bad planet or aspect. only bad word choices.

squares are inner drives for change and movement, evolution; self-driven ppl. as in GOOD things

if everything would come easy, one would not have to use brain (ergo brain does not evolve). conflict, limmits, resistance make us smarter, faster, better cos they motivate us to become so. Squares and oppositions = good things

Squares and oppositions = good things

Probably they are good from the karmic point of view but they definitely make people suffer...in my opinion, being just unreasonably happy about everything in your chart is not enough, if there's a 'problem', and there is a problem if it makes a native feel bad, it is important to acknowledge this problem, take it in, honestly admit that it exists and start working hard on it.
Using brains and trying to believe that 'squares and opposition = good things' won't sort out issues these aspects have caused, it will take far much more than that...especially if we are talking about such a sensitive thing as Moon...

the point I'm trying to make is that it isn't healthy / helpful to make someone believe that they're *destined* to suffer

of course one should NOT pretend things are 'pretty' and 'nice', especially when they're not.

but 'afflicted' doesn't leave room for someone to breath, to live. it's an etiquette, a stamp on someone's forehead - they cannot wipe away. and it's simply not like that.

"a problem is a chance to do your best" (not give in, give up or resign on acount of fatality)

especially with the sensitive ppl - the ones that take 'suggestions' to heart

My natal moon is aflicted too but not by join the club 7 squares, wow! Nevertheless, mines involved in a T square and of all planets with Saturn (negatives: depression/repression) and Neptune (negatives: confusion/deception).

It's a b!tch really...well some days its great and some not so great...kinda makes me slightly bipolar in a way, altho Ive never been diagnosed with anything...Good for creativity, not so good for expressing it some days cuz of Saturn.

Oh thats what Im afraid of...and the saturn opposition is in the 5th...I hope I never have problems conceiving etc.

Ive always wondered how the ancient astrologers and others throughout history described squares and oppositions...were they always seen as negative as they are today in modern astrology.

that's a good question, daydreamer.... i wonder if they thought of them as always negative too...

i personally, LOVE my squares and oppositions more than my soft aspects...i think it makes things more exciting

by the way, i get your point cristiname. even if it is just a word, it does have a negative association so I SUPPOSE i can tone it down a notch when using it. sorry, i just like the way it sounds...sue me

it's the other way around: the ancient astrology thought squares as bad; modern astrology takes them as powerful
