I don't see why nodes,Ascendant, and Midheaven can't be used in aspect patterns. They are used in midpoint configurations which tend to be aspect configurations.

For example: I have talked about the 11th harmonic pattern that I have involved Ascendant,Mercury,Mars,Saturn, and Uranus. Uranus conjuncts the Mercury/Ascendant midpoint and oppose Mars/Saturn midpoint. Mars opposes Mercury/Saturn midpoint. Saturn opposes Mars/Ascendant midpoint.
here is my chart with 11th harmonic pattern http://people.tribe.net/2e0a4c30-b134-49f8-ba74-0990f36b0a5f/photos/df df3383-b648-4c9d-9c89-6362dfefdb5a

I have North Node trine Midheaven, and Chiron sextiles both. I have Chiron conjunct North Node/Midheaven midpoint,North Node square Chiron/Midheaven midpoint, and Midheaven square Chiron/Node Midpoint.
Here is my chart showing 6th harmonic triangle of my Chiron,Midheaven,North Node http://people.tribe.net/2e0a4c30-b134-49f8-ba74-0990f36b0a5f/photos/eb 9a234d-00cd-45fe-9f67-cd3c3125565f

there is a woman that has Uranus quintile Ascendant, and her Neptune decile(aka semiquintile) both her Uranus and Ascendant. She has Neptune conjunct Uranus/Ascendant midpoint.
Here is her chart showing the 10th harmonic triangle of her Uranus,Neptune, and Ascendant http://people.tribe.net/2e0a4c30-b134-49f8-ba74-0990f36b0a5f/photos/22 637556-0ed2-47da-b935-ccaf8678990a

She has an 8th harmonic isosceles trapezoid pattern of Ascendant,Moon, and Venus-Mars conjunction and it consists of:
1.She has Venus square Ascendant, and her Moon sesquiquadrate both her Venus and Ascendant. She has Moon oppose Venus/Ascendant midpoint.

2.She has Mars square Ascendant, and her Moon sesquiquadrate both her Mars and Ascendant. She has Moon oppose Mars/Ascendant midpoint

3.She has Sun square Moon, and her Ascendant sesquiquadrates both her Moon and Ascendant. She has Ascendant oppose Sun/Moon midpoint.

Here is her chart showing the 8th harmonic isosceles trapezoid: http://people.tribe.net/2e0a4c30-b134-49f8-ba74-0990f36b0a5f/photos/96 83a837-0c31-4640-a5f0-2bf9efdc1874

Ascendant,Midheaven, and Nodes are abstract points but they are very sensitive, and so they can be involved in midpoint configurations(conjunction, opposition, square, sesquiquadrate, semisquaredrate)and can easily been seen on a 90 degree dial. Because of that, it's logical to use them in aspect patterns.

I always use these points and recommend that others do so as well. They can be especially important in configurations.

I use those points as well.
I noticed that configurations like a grand trine, which involve the 4th house cusp, can show much closeness between two persons.
So, I also use the descendant and the IC.

So then if I have the Moon conjunct Neptune and South Node it counts for a stellium? And what would that mean, exactly?

I would like to know too. Stelliums of Houses or Signs can be considered into Stelliums (I think) - hope you get more feedback on that.

Glaucus -

Would you consider above?
