To what extent would aspects by sign only and not degrees affect synastry across two charts.

If for example if person A has Pluto in Virgo at 3 deg and person B has Venus in Saggi at 23 deg, what would the effects be compared to say the square within 8 degs.

Ive heard someone say that the square is only counted if there is a 1 deg orb?

ok if the 'sign' energy together .. e.g. the general square between leo/taurus .. represents a pa system normally found in the likes of wembley stadium ( or wherever ) .. .. then this ..

.. would probably be loud enough to entertain the front few rows .. .. at 8 deg square the folk at the back are starting to dance .. bring the deg. down to 1.5 or so .. .. then it starts to irritate the neighbours .. hah .. just realise yer talking Plut. n Venus .. yeah so its shaking the ground ..

you got gnomes in your garden whispering at night ???? ..
.. gotta say that sounds like an odd rule .. the 1 deg bit .. i'd look at whatever orb it showed .. within a limit of course .. similar to a birthchart aspect .. then take it into account ..
to be honest sue .. synastry is static .. and folk can 'read' (if you like ) their synastry by simply getting to know each other .. even if they wouldn't have a clue about astrology .. .. i just think it loads more important to see what each individual is going thru .. i mean there is sooooooo much info regarding this that and the other in astrology .. one can get bogged down in details and loose sight of the big picture ..

anyhow that's just my humble opinion on first cup 'o tea ..

mmmm .. one thing i was thinking of .. if in synastry there is a wide angle like that ( 20deg ) one ..
then when a transiting or progressed planet aspects the midpoint between .. i guess one could see some action of some sort ..
depending .. i.e. activated energies
.. I guess that would be a transit to a 'composite' chart point maybe ..

synastry is interesting .. i bet the mercury synastry between various k.f's would make good reading .. from 'getting a bit of astro knowledge' perspective .. thinking 'media' like text/img post is how flks 'round here get to know each other at first .. just musing is all .. just had a thought .. looking at synastry between k.f's and the 'forum' birthchart .. as in once .. the forum chart showed some mars / lillith transits ( don't remember details ) .. anyhow .. i do believe all 'ell broke loose around here at the time .. although methinks i was on vacation during that period ..
