Okay, I can understand why you'd be told just to read your sun sign for horoscopes- i.e. most people don't know their rising sign. However, the rising sign is where the planets are aligning for them, and not everyone is going to have the same sun/rising sign. Telling me I've got a stellium in my relationship sector in my Taurus horoscope just isn't accurate when my real relationship sector doesn't have it.So, really, what I'm asking is this: why are people who know about astrology told to read BOTH your sun and rising (and in some cases, moon) horoscopes? Shouldn't we just read our rising signs? IP: Logged |

hey jen yuo have to realize that the sun sign astrology emphasis in tabloids is a totally commercial creation.in the early 1920s,astrology became very popular again.but since astrology is a complex undertaking, the greedmeisters decided to focus on the sun sign as it is relatively constant year to year, and it conviently put all people in 12 manageable groups.historically the sun sign was just one of the many factors as it really is.so when a astrologer makes comments on the sun signs in a tabloid ,if they are using astrological principal at all, then they focus on sun aspects.but in a complete chart the ascendant,i believe,is the most singularly important symbol in a natal chart.therefore the ascendant sign can be looked at in the tabloid sign list.and as the moon is also extremely potent, then some suggest consulting it's sign also. williamIP: Logged | |
