According to Indian astrology Jupiter has entered Scorpio and all those with moon in scorpio can look out for its influence.

to know where ur moon is in indian astrology simply substract 23 degrees from ur moon's sign as per ur western astrology natal chart. then see the sign it ends up in. that is ur sign or rashi as per indian astro.

According to western astrology jupiter 'will' enter sag by november end.

IMPORTANT POINT: the characteristics of a scorpio and a sag in indian astrology are same as that of a scorpio and a sag as per western astrology, respectively.

MY QUERY:
what are the key effects for a scorpio when jupiter enters scorpio and what are the key effects on a sag when jupiter enters sag.

i ask this as my sun and moon are in scorpio in indian astro and in sag as per western astro and according to both i'll be influenced by jupiter for a year.

i want to be very sure that i don't miss this once in 12 years chance of jupiter in my sign.

thankyou.

interesting information on indian astrology

the difference between Jupiter transiting Scorpio as opposed to Jupiter's transit of Sag is Jupiter's own rulership in Sag.
Here (in Sag) the planet and the sign are strong because they belong together.

Jupiter's transit of Scorpio just expands Scorpio's interests (Plutonian nature)

we always talk about how much Jupiter "gives" and that's true but it can also be a double edged sword in that it can give you enough rope to hang yourself.
get it?
too much of a good thing is not always good.

Out!

edit to add: what if in western astrology the Moon is 23 degrees ahead of the Sun?
Would you consider that a new Moon birth or does the Sun degree change also?

the 23 degree difference is for all planets and house cusps.

1.the ascendant goes back by 23 degrees,
2.so does that dividing line between all houses.
3.the planets go back by 23 degrees.

for example...
if a chart has the following parameters in western astrology...

1.ascendant 5 degree aries
2.sun 20 degree leo
3.moon 28 degree cap
4. anyplanet (say venus) 1 degree libra
then their positions in indian astrology would become as follows....

1. asc 12 deg pisces
2. sun 27 deg cancer
4. moon 5 deg cap (as 28-23 is 5 degs of the same sign)
5. venus 8 deg virgo

BUT there are some points to be considered.
some astrologers claim it is 23 degs while some claim its 24. i short, the exact difference is not known for sure.

also, a typical indian kundli (horoscope) has 5 different types of charts.
lagna kundli (ascendant chart, asc = 1st house)
rashi kundli (moon sign chart, moon's sign =1st house)

and so on...

these are advanced level bifurcations to easily analyse the kundli with a certain aim in mind. eg... marriage, future, past, studies, etc...

none of them resemble the 'exact' actual map of the sky when a person was born but are products of the chart that does. in lagna kundli the entire 1st house is given to the asc, in rashi to the moon's sign etc.

in a way, its applied astrology rather than classical astrology. only a few handful of astrologers in india would know how to analyse the actual 'map of the sky' kundli (natal chart) and yet i'm to figure out what that kind of a kundle is called.

besides there are various division in vedic astrology too... K.P. method, north indian method etc...
