Could oppositions actually be a good thing in the synastry of 2 people who have a lot of Libra placements?I am seeing a guy right now who has his sun, moon, and mars in Libra. I have Libra rising with my sun and mercury in the 7th house. We are both very easy going people. But we have a TON of oppositions in our synastry, including some that suggest lots of arguing.... Mercury opposition mercury My mercury opposition his venus My mercury opposition his pluto My sun oppisition his mercury My sun opposition his venus My sun opposition his pluto His moon opposition my venus His moon opposition my jupiter His moon opposition my n. node My venus opposition his mars My mars opposition his saturn My mars opposition his uranus His mars opposition my jupiter His jupiter opposition my ascendant Whew, scary huh? But, so far at least, we seem to be very able to "agreet to disagree" whenever there are conflicts. In fact the places where our opinions differ, leads to some very interesting conversations- discussions, not arguments or fights.
However, all those oppositions really freak me out. I am just wondering if there is any chance, since we both have a lot of Libra energy, whether those oppositions are really so awful. Any imput would be sooo appreciated, thanks!

I should say too, we have some good aspects as well.... and not very many squares at all. Maybe 4 squares total. The difficult aspects are mostly the oppositions. His sun sextile my uranus - 1°50 His sun conj my ascendant - 4°59 His moon conj my ascendant - 3°19 His moon trine my mars - 0°19 His moon sextile my saturn - 0°24 his moon trine my chiron - 0°57 his mercury sextile my neptune - 3°25 his mercury conjunct my pluto - 2°49 his venus conj my pluto - 5°29 (maybe too wide an orb) his jupiter sextile my mars - 4°43 his jupiter trine my saturn - 4°00 my jupiter trine his saturn - 2°33 my venus trine his saturn - 2°40 his jupiter trine my uranus - 2°03 my ascendant sextile his saturn - 5°30 my moon trine his n. node - 0°12 also - his sun, venus, mercury, and pluto are in my 1st house (I think that's good?) and his jupiter is in my 7th. My ascendant conj his sun/moon midpoint.

Sun oppose Pluto with 4'37 orb would have a very weak influence if not at allPlut is a generational planet. I only use 1 degree orb for Pluto aspects myself. Mercury oppose Pluto with 1'47 orb is little wide too,but it can have an influence but it's not a strong influence. it's more of a weak one. "his mercury conjunct my pluto - 2°49" is too wide
"his venus conj my pluto - 5°29 (maybe too wide an orb)" is definitely too wide. "My mars opposition his uranus - 4°16" I use no more than 2 degree orb for Uranus and Neptune. I believe that the aspects involving outerplanets should be tighter when it comes to synastry due to them applying more to generations. I use a 3 degree orb for Chiron because it orbits between Saturn and Uranus. Jupiter oppose Ascendant is the same as Jupiter conjunct Descendant. That's a strong expansive relationship.
any aspect oppose ascendant is the same as conjunct descendant. Descendant is the opposite angle of the Ascendant. Descendant is the 7th house cusp and Ascendant is the 1st house cusp. There oppositions to the ascendant can be good. It really depends on how they are aspected too. You don't want squares to that opposition. Trines and sextiles to the opposition can be nice. Sun oppose Venus and Moon oppose Venus can be good aspects for attraction in synastry.
Oppositions aren't necessarily difficult in synastry unless they involve Mars,Saturn and the outer planets. IP: Logged |

Thank you so much!! So.... do you think this relationship might be ok? The only other hard aspects are: sun square moon, 4°25 (is that orb too wide?) and mars square neptune at 0°41. There are 3 other squares, but they are with outer planets, and the orbs are between 6 and 9° so I don't think they count. Thanks again for your reply.IP: Logged |
