Yes, I know no one *truely* lacks a sign/element...what I mean however, is significant/planetary placements...

How do you deal with that "emptiness" in your chart? Some overcompensate, some don't acknowldege it at all, some deny the qualities, and then some... I wanna know how YOU Knowflakes deal with your "missing" element/signs?

FOR example (before I get some hardcore astrologers telling stuff I already know )

I have no planets in Virgo
I have nothing in my 6th house

I tend to overcompensate the qualities of this sign. I'm so nitpicky that I can't finish anything I start. I'm a good writer- but because I dissect my "plots" down to the smallest granular fact..I tend to get lost in the details (Neptune/3rd house). I'm a perfectionist to the T. Though, I'm not "neat", I do make the extra effort to be so. It's not hard for me to organize, make lists, etc...it's much hard for me to stick to them. I can be hypercritical but mostly of myself... I'm far too specific for my own good, always defining, correcting, validating things that people say, even if they ask. Like this--- (According to ____, this theory of blah blah blah, was founded by whomever, in July or whenever back in a small town called whatever consisting of X amount of people ) In regular conversation..dunno if that's a Virgo thing but I told you, I'm very specific

Health, diet, work, service are M A J O R issues in my life...everything I do revolves around those general themes.

But most of all, I can't help but take a big picture (any big picture, idea, concept, thought, plan...anything) and bre little pieces of data that I have to "execute"... It's almost ..fun for me to do...and strange, but mostly fun.

Virgo is on my 11th house cusp...I am very critical of love "received", friendships, and my hopes/dreams. Like I said, I'm a victim of listing everything...and sometimes I'll plan out my life as if I could control dates and times and places and names and people and situations in the everyday and future.

I'm E X T R E M E L Y picky with my friends...I'm not fond of making too many close friends/connections because too many is fussy and cluttering and unneccessary..I can be hard on them, critically, but its usually for the best...

What about you guys? Your opinions? Remember, this is for F U N.

The only Cancer I have, in my chart, falls in my 12th house! What would that indicate?

I have NO Earth planets at all, though my Descendant is Taurus.

This means I am a swirling mass of air and fire tempered by stormy watery thunderstorms.

I have no grounding influence whatsoever and it really shows.

I have a lack of air...only venus in gemini. After reading the article that AG posted it made me think that my venus sign and placement (5th house) may be more prominent than I once thought....I'm still not sure how.

Perhaps it shows in the way I "attract" my interest. I do kind of become more talkative, goofy, and crazy around my boyfriend.

Lets see, I have an empty first, ninth, and 11th house. No Leo and very little Taurus (just the vertex).

Another approach:

When I first began to study astrology, I noticed that I had no planets in air signs or houses. I do have my South Node in Gemini, and eventually I began to use Chiron which is conjunct my South Node.

Still, I remember my perplexity. Did this mean that I lacked intelligence? That was hard to swallow, as all through school my grades were good.

Eventually, in my studies, I read (tho can't remember who said it) the information that a missing element simply means that it needs no particular work or emphasis in this lifetime. In other words, it is dependable and you can take it for granted.

Since, in addition to my 23 years as a professional astrologer, I have written and published 14 astrology texts, I tend to agree that a "neglected" chart element simply needs no emphasis in this lifetime.

In my case, I have no fire placements except neptune in sag (i dont think it counts). as in, no planets in fire signs. i really do feel the lack of this element. i live mostly in my head. not too much of a 'doer'.

and in my case i think it does need work. bcoz my NN is in leo, and in 1st house. so well, working on it. trying to be more assertive (it takes real effort for me) and a bit more self-centered, ie, give time to my own needs without being hit by guilt.

I post here as well (copy and paste )

no air here too. closest thing is a chirion in gemini or moon in third house or venus/uranus in 11 (pholus is only major asteroid in 11). In fact out of the ten major asteroids (what I mean by that is the ten listed as additional items on astro.com extended chart) my only other air asteriod is pars fourtune in gemini.

I have an empty 7th house too devoid of any planet or almost all of the ten major asteriods. though vertex (1 of 10 in extended chart additional items) and isis are there, finally!

I think I am about as un-air as you can get. though looking again, between armor, eros and isis I do have armor in gemini (so maybe I have a planet after all?).

anyone else extremely un air like like I am??? Is anyone more un air than me?

though I do have (what I think is) an unaspected uranus..and I here that is powerful.

Hmm... I have nothing in Capricorn, Virgo, Aquarius, and Leo (although, Leo is my midheaven and Aquarius my IC).

Also, nothing in my 1st, 2nd, 3rd, 8th, 9th or 10th houses!

Earth is my element least populated with planets, although my sun and Mercury are in Taurus.

Now what is strange, is that all those empty houses are actually houses that I'm very interested in and which I gravitate most towards, more so than the houses that actually have planets in them! I do gravitate to the 12th house though. All the others - 4th, 5th, 6th, 7th, 11th - are areas that haven't been of great importance to me. But rather, things that maybe I take for granted as part of my life. The empty houses are a lot more interesting to me! It could be that those are the areas that require me to come out of a "lazy" comfort zone and extend myself (through extra effort or research maybe) - and when I do, I am very successful in those areas!

Interestingly, although I have no planets in the 8th or 9th houses, their natural rulers are my moon (8th) and ascendant (9th). So I would be drawn to those areas anyway, it just requires me to make an 'effort'. Also, what is interesting is that although I have no planets in my 3rd house I am extremely drawn to communication, especially writing - and communication is what I've always wanted to do and still now do for a career.

Also, with not much earth in my chart apart from sun and mercury in Taurus, I can relate to fellow earth signs but I find that too much time in their company can bring me too easily 'down to earth', in that I fall into more comfortable, earthy habits that in the end lead me into a mental and physical rut! I think it is my Sag ascendant that makes me more restless and exploring...

Similarly, I have as much air as I do earth (only two planets). I love the company of air people! But being in a relationship with one can drive me beserk at times!

I have:

No Taurus, nothing in 2nd house
Nothing in 3rd House
No Cancer, nothing in 4th house
No Leo
Nothing in 9th and 10th houses
No Aqua (except MC)
No Pisces, nothing in the 12th

My Mars is a water singleton in Scorpio, but I have 8th house placements and a bunch of midpoints in Scorpio.

I lack Taurus' security drive, but everything else seems covered by other aspects (strong Venus and Earth placements elsewhere).

Third House is empty, but I've got a Gemini Ascendant and a Virgo Moon. Communication's not much of an issue.

I don't miss what I don't have in the Cancer department.

No Leo is compensated by a 5th house Moon, and a creative Venus conjunct Neptune sextiled to fixed Pluto in Libra.

9th & 10th Houses may be empty, but I'm a Cap Sun with a Sag stellium.

No Aqua except my MC which is trined by none other than Saturn and Uranus!

No Pisces, but as I said earlier Neptune hangs close to my Venus.

I lack Earth entirely, except for my Capricorn descendant. I express the lack by being often attracted or drawn to people who DO have the Earth planets I am missing.

It can sometimes be frustrating to deal with Earth-heavy people -- I want to emote and be idealistic and they tend to be more practical and less emotional -- but they have qualities I lack, and I sometimes have qualities they lack. There's potential for it to be a win-win. I've learned the valuable lessons of patience, steadiness, and work ethic, and I like to think I can help them think outside the box, laugh more, and be inspired in some way or another.

Astro brings revelations every day. Since I learned that I have an unaspected Merc, I've been esp. interested in how Virgo and Gem play in my chart. This is important to me, (1) because verbal communication has always been an issue for me, and (2) because my NN is in Gem in the 11th.

Excluding Pluto, I have one planet in air---Venus in Gem like Dulce. Umm ... by nature, I am quiet, at home and in social situations. But I am looking for a partner who I can *really* talk to ... seamlessly about random stuff. The amount of time I spend mute will equal the amount of gab I'll subject to my poor future husband. I also have Merc sextile Juno.

I have no planets in Virgo or in the 6th, but Virgo is on the cusp of my empty 3rd. I can relate to Alanabelle because umm, I am extremely anal retentive when it comes to expos. writing. My posts are not very polished, but the forum is part of downtime for me (like blogs, IMs). I communicated to my teachers through essays to make up for the oral participation percentage of the overall grade (and poor attendance, haha). At work, I go into harakiri mode if I miss an italic or a comma. Hours and hours obsessively going over the same manuscripts.

So yeah, lots of strange compensation for lack of Gem and Virgo.

I have nothing in my 5th, 11th and 12th house of major significance, I have things like Pallas and BML there in the 12th but 5/11 completely empty. I have no leo at all and no pisces (except Pallas). The only things I have in water are Saturn (can), Ura and NN (sco). The only thing I have in earth is Cap MC and SN in Tau. Basically, all air and a bit of fire.

I am highly ungrounded and have constantly found myself at professional crossroads. I have no interest in money except for having it. I don't have much money to start with!

Honestly, I find people with a lot of earth or water boring or concrete or too emotional, which is terrible because I feel they could teach me a thing or two. I think my chart has lead to me to have quite a skewed personality and inability to get along with a lot of different people and people that are different to me.

I get bored very easily with life and things. Life in essence is an idealistic intellectual and philosophical construct including emotions (which I don't like to express). I feel niave and unrealistic at times because of it. I have an overactive mind that always needs to be stimulated - my partner said to me the other day that I never chill out. I don't.

My IC is Leo. and that pretty much sums up the fire I have in my chart, and it shows. Don't have much energy, not into sports at all (at least not anymore), I've been told I'm unenthusiatic (partly true),...William told me I tend to keep my joy inside because of my planets opposing Pluto.

and if they count, I have my Sun, Moon, Jupiter, and Pluto square Mars, Sun Conjunction Jupiter at 0 degrees, Jupiter Sextile ASC., and Jupiter Trine Neptune.

I have all the earth and water signs in my chart, no Libra, except my Neptune in 7th and my two air signs are Venus in Gemini and Mars in Aquarius.
