Ok I need someone to help me figure this out. My Saturn technically is in my 3rd house(but it's still in Leo which is the sign of my 2nd house)my 3rd house is in Virgo. Does this mean my Saturn is still effecting my 2nd house(this may be my some of my money probs)? That would suck so bad restriction in money and communication!!!

------------------
Sun in Libra
Moon in Cancer
Jupiter in Cancer
Venus in Virgo
Mars in Cancer
Ascendant in Cancer

I "FEEL" therefor I am

Is this natal or transiting saturn?

Natally, if a planet sits 5 deg before the next house-cusp, it can be interpreted as falling the next house. I have this with my technically 8th house nep which sometimes is interpreted as 9th and as a result programmes can interpret both houses for it or sometimes 8th or 9th.

I wouldnt worry if sat falls in 2nd or 3rd natally - 2nd means that you can get by in hard times, 3rd means you communicate in a serious way with structure, not a bad thing to have.

Otherwise, in transits, saturn went into my 2nd house about 6 years ago and I had financial restrictions when I was there but I got by. Repeat explanation for natal 3rd house when saturn transited my 3rd house - also I got a job that required a lot of logical and serious writing

from what I know, a planet is influencing the affairs of a house only when it rules it (when it rules the sign on the cusp or the intercepted sign).

otherwise, the energy of a planet will manifest itself in the affairs of the house the planet is IN.

the Sun rules Leo, so your Sun, modified by the sign and house it is in, will influence the affairs of your 2nd house and will also patronize ur Saturn (Saturn being in Leo it is subordinated to the Sun).

the rule *23* mentions - I know it to refer to 3 dgr next to a cusp- interpreted as being in the next house - 3, not 5.

for what it's worth, I believe there r no black-and-white issues in astrology. if a planet is very close to the end of a house, or so near the next, it means something - something to do with nuances of interpretations. It is probably felt in both houses.

so, bottom line: you have Leo on two cusps -the 2nd house and the 3rd - that means the Sun rules both your 2nd and 3rd, and that makes virgo intercepted in your 3rd, and pisces intercepted in ur 9th, right? if you still have a cusp with virgo and pisces on it, it means nothing. nuances.

if the whole of virgo and piscis are intercepted (they don't have cusps), than those signs energies will be quite subtle in ur personality make-up, and any personal planets in virgo and pisces, and also mercury and neptune should be quite uncomfortable - like they don't get to express themselves enough.

I concur.

I have Sun in 5'20 Scorpio in 2nd house.
my 3rd house cusp is 8'16 Scorpio.
I do feel that my Sun is in both 2nd and 3rd house.....I can relate to my 12th house ruler(Sun) being in both 2nd and 3rd house.

another thing to keep in mind

it depends on the house system

a person can have a planet close to the cusp of the next house in Placidus. in another house system, that planet can be in the next house.
a planet can be in a house and not close to the next house cusp in Placidus. It can be near the house cusp in another house system
also in equal house system, there are no intercepted houses.

here is an example.
my girlfriend has intercepted aries/1st-libra/7th axis
She has Moon-Saturn-Pluto conjunction in 7th house and close to 8th house cusp in Placidus house system.
She has Moon-Saturn-Pluto conjunction in 8th house in Koch house system.
Her Mars is in 1st and not close to the 2nd house cusp in Placidus system.
Her Mars is in 1st but close to the 2nd house in Koch house system

Whole sign house system is the oldest house system in Astrology. Vedic Astrologers use that house system.

i don't know if i got your question...but here's my understanding of it:
If saturn is in leo, but in 3rd house, it means tht leo is on the cusp of your third house. so your 3rd house wud be ruled by leo, even if most of the third house happens to be occupied by virgo. likewise, if cancer is on the cusp of 2nd, it wud be ruled by cancer, even if most of the 2nd house is taken up by leo.

and if saturn is in 3rd, it will rule only the 3rd house matters. if it had been towards the end of 2nd, then it might hv influenced both the 2nd and 3rd.
