Or anyone who feels qualified to answer this one.Okay, Let's say I have Neptune sextile Pluto (like most everyone else in my generation)... Let's say that those planets are relatively unaspected in my chart, but, that Pluto Squares my Ascendant... Is it true that the sextile to Neptune, being the only "easy" aspect to Pluto, serves as an "escape route" for the Pluto Square Ascendant energies? - So that Neptune, although relatively unaspected, aquires much more importance in my chart? See, I am trying to account for how friggin' Neptunian I am. All I can see is the Pisces South Node, and the fact that Neptune is singleton (11th), but is that enough to make me the way I am - I mean, I am VERY Neptunian, it seems. Neptune is also Squaring my Ascendant ruler (Saturn), but the orb is 5 degrees, and I doubt that is very significant. Also, it is semi-square my 1st house Moon (orb of less than 1 degree)... I have heard at least one reputable astrologer claim that tight semi-squares are as powerful as wide squares any day. So, like, would a semi-square with an orb of 1 degree equal a square with an orb of 2, 3, or 4 degrees? What do you think? Neptune also semi-sextiles my Venus by less than a degree, and parallels both Venus and Mars. Do you think those parallels are very significant? My chart is located on my signature, if you want to have a peek. thanks, Stephen ------------------ 'Would you know your Lord's meaning in this thing? Know it well. Love was his meaning. Who showed it to you? Love. What did he show you? Love. Why did he show it? For love. Keep yourself therein and you shall know and understand more in the same. But you shall never know nor understand any other thing, forever.' - Julian of Norwich http://i50.photobucket.com/albums/f309/Alem7/chart1.gif http://i50.photobucket.com/albums/f309/Alem7/steve5.jpg IP: Logged |

Thanks. And, as for the easy aspect providing a channel for the tension in the hard aspect... do you think that is valid, too? Because it seems like a very important way for a planet to be highlighted, and yet, you rarely hear about it.

Yes...I agree I have a t-square of Moon in Pisces in 6th square the opposition of retrograde Saturn in Gemini in 9th and Jupiter-Neptune conjunction in Sagittarius in 3rd. My Sun in Scorpio in 2nd trines the t-square focal planet, Moon. I really believe that Sun eases my t-square a bit. IP: Logged |

And, what is your opinion of the "minor" aspects? Do you think that a tight semi-square is equal to a wider square?Would a 1 degree semi-square be equivalent to a 2 degree square? Let's say they are both "out of sign", just to make it fair.

Honestly, I don't know. I have really looked into decanates. I am open to the possibility that they can be significant. My Venus in Scorpio is in Cancer decanate, and I feel that I can be a nurturing lover. My Mercury in Scorpio is in Pisces decanate, but I am not sure about that...my Mercury already parallels Neptune...I have Neptune in 3rd. My Virgo Ascendant is in Capicorn Decanate....I do have a serious, cautious approach to life.....my Pisces Descendant in Cancer decanate, I can be nurturing in relationships. IP: Logged |

Interesting, thanks. Is your 6th house moon conjuncting that Dsc? Because that would definitely making you nurturing in relationships. What's your opinion on the "minor" aspects? IP: Logged |

minor aspects can be very significant if they under 1 degree orb.I don't think a 1 degree semisquare has more power than a 2 degree square though. My Moon is in 3'11 Pisces, and my Descendant is in 13'27 Pisces. IP: Logged |

"I don't think a 1 degree semisquare has more power than a 2 degree square though."Right, right. But could a 1 degree semi-square be stronger than a 3 or 4 degree square? Or a 1 degree semi-sextile; could it be stronger than a 3 degree sextile? Hmmm...
