I was being observant and my lil ones dad and his dad and sister and brother have all married their opposite. I guess if my ex and I would have gotten married he too would have been with his opposite.. My ex is a Virgo(lil one's dad)
His Dad is Aqua and married Leo woman
His sister is Cap and Married a Cancer man
His Brother Cap and married a Cancer woman.. How strange is that..I knew the parents were opposite, but the others were a shock to me..

My son is the CONJUNCT opposite sun & ascendant of me! My ex is qunicunx Sun to me, let me tell ya that was no picnic

Dunno, but I always read about Cappy - Cancer combination.
I have nothin in Cancer, and believe it, I find Cancer woman to watery for me. Too much shell around emotions, like they will escape every moment.Earth and Fire is for me. Cappy and Leo woman always suprise me. K. IP: Logged |

Funny Mama Mia I started thinking through my family and here is what we've gotFolks Pisces and Scorpio
In laws -- Pisces and Gemini
Sibs Gem & Aries
Gem & Libra (9 years--2nd marriage-- first one was a divorce--Lib/Cap)
Aqua & Libra
Gem & Gem (16 years this one is me and DH)
Taurus (with 5 planet stellium!!) & Virgo Bro and Sis in laws
Aqua & Virgo (19 years!)
Aqua & Virgo (2 years
Sag & Scorpio (20 years) That's it. That's the list. For some reason I know more square & same sun sign marriages than opposite ones.

My best friend is a Scorpio. Her brother and sister are both Taurus. Her late mother was a Leo, and father is an Aquarius(they ended up getting divorced). Im an Aqua and i have a Taurus Mom and Scorpio Sister (no Leos thank God...already enough personalities in my family as is) My Libra cousin is married to a Capricorn (about 3 years now) I have a Cancer aunt and Capriorn uncle (still married after 40 years) I have a Gemini aunt and Sag uncle (also still married after almost 40 years) Also have an Aqua uncle and Leo aunt (suprisingly still married but not really living in the same house most of the time - married for almost 20 years) IP: Logged |

Oooo, I could never picture myself married to a Cappy. No way Jose, I think I like the trine much better.
The opposition is common in my family though believe it or not. I mean get this...
My mom's a virgo and my sis is a pisces and they always butt heads. They look alot alike too (my mom's a pisces rising). My dad is a cancer and my brother is a capricorn and its the same story. My brother is said to be a spitting image of my dad. I think my dad may be a cappy rising or atleast a Taurean one like my brother is. These are using my full-siblings and not the half ones.) Of course I'm the odd child who doesn't really look alot like anyone but if you saw me with my mom's family you would know I belonged. We have a very strong family resemblance...but I digress now.

I'm an Aries (8th house) with Venus/Moon/Sun/Mercury and some asteroids in the same place.. I felt attracted by Libras when I was younger.. but definely not really for me.. >.<; They are way too passive and indecisive for me.. thought I like their softness and romantic ability (so much charm lol)..
Personaly I prefer water and fire signs.. But not pure water nor pure fire.. :P a combination of this is da best~~ XDIP: Logged |

Edit - Carl I know what you mean... I hardly have any problems with Taurus.

My boyfriend is my "opposite" (Pisces) but we're actually alike in a lot of ways- but I also have Neptune in my 1st house.  My parents have opposing moons (Aqua & Leo)....My Libra friend was with an Aries guy for awhile, but they broke up a few months ago....they were definitely complete opposites though. IP: Logged |

Opposites can learn so much from each other, for good or bad. I've only personally known two opposite couples and thats it(Leo and Aqua, Taurus and Scorpio) Wish I could find the perfect opposite to complete me  ------------------

Opposites are common but not best for marriage in the long term. They seem the most likely to get married then divorced.The couples I consistenly being most succesful are quincunx, aries-virgo, taurus-sag, cancer-sg etc and so forth. Trine seems to work well too. Sextiles very rarely seem to be physically into eachother enough to maintaing something. The next sign over is a good pairing as well. IP: Logged |

I dont know if you were refering to the Cancer and Cap marriage I posted in my family...but I think I should clear up my error: My uncle that is married to my Cancer aunt for 40 years is actually a Libra...oops.

Well I think overall my parents love each, they're still married. They have arguments all the time but if you part them from each other, they get very upset. I wish I knew my parent's birth details to tell you what is going on. IP: Logged |

I'm with BR. I've seen a lot of trines and semi-sextiles (next sign over or previous sign) work out long term.. Almost everyone in my family is in the semi-sextile category. My grandma/grandpa - Libra/Virgo and Leo/Cancer. My mum/ 2nd husband - Leo/Virgo.. My mum/3rd and last - Leo/Cancer.
Though she did have me with my dad who is Aqua.. That opposition didn't work well. My mum's best friends are Gemini/ Taurus, they've been married a long time. Then we have some long term family friends who are Aries/Pisces. Interestingly the one guy I've been in love with - Pisces.. and I'm Aries. And the one guy I've had a serious relationship with - Libra. If I absolutely had to pick one to marry tomorrow it would be Mr Libra.. That being said, it's mainly a maturity difference. If the age gap between me and Mr Pisces was different I might say I'd marry him.. If he was in his 30s/maybe even 40s (and if he had hopefully gotten some sort of psychological help until then) it could've worked. Also, the guy I’m dating right now is Libra, though I’m not sure I could see myself marrying him. I have a history of Libra/Pisces continuum going back to primary school lol IP: Logged |
