I always get the feeling Cancer/4th has to do with children/mothering or being mothered. When you’re a child your family is composed of your mother (4th), father (10th), brothers and sisters (3rd).. but then you get married and the family consist of you (1st) + your husband (7th).. Later, when you have children.. don’t you become the 4th (mother) and him the 10th (father)? Like the 4th could show the way your mother treated you but also the way you will be as a mother.
The 10th in a man’s chart could show the way his father treated him but also the way he would be as a father.
Ok, I just totally lost the point I was going to make about kids and the 5th lol.. too many inconsistencies so I’m lost again.
One inconsistency is that it seems like the Aries/Libra line, 1st/7th, Mars/Venus has to do with partnership and marriage. It also seems like the Cancer/Capricorn line, 4th/10th, Moon/Saturn has to do with having a family.
So then why is it that in synastry it’s actually Sun/Moon aspects that count most when it comes to both marriage and having a family? The Sun seems to not figure at all in this (it’s like a fish out of water).. In fact the Leo/Aquarius line - 5th/11th - Sun/Uranus.. holds no meaning to me (I can’t give it any meaning in this relationship/family context)..
Venus/Mars (feminine/masculine) makes sense.. Moon/Saturn (mother/father) makes sense.. but Sun/Uranus loses me completely. Not mentioning that Sun/Moon isn't even an opposite pair and yet in synastry we treat it as a deeper version of Venus/Mars.
The other two inconsistencies are that both the 4th and 5th are meant to rule children, and both the 5th and 8th are meant to rule sex.
I see Leo/Sun/Ego ruling romance/fun/arts/entertainment..
Leos love kids and make great teachers… but it’s more of a teacher thing than a parental/Cancerian relationship with kids.
Maybe leo/5th could be seen as a child carer (teacher/babysitter) not referring to your own biological child. So the 5th would point to your attitude towards kids in general (others’ kids).. whereas when you have your own children, it could fall under Cancer/4th. But even so.. how would Uranus/11th figure here? It seems unbalanced to mention the 5th without it’s opposite house.
When it comes to sex - under the 5th it could be more like sex for fun.. while sex under the 8th could stand for deep meaningful sex or sex for reproductive purposes.. Pluto – life/death.
That being said, there is even more of an inconsistency when you look at Taurus (2nd) and Libra (7th) – the Venusian signs.. and Aries (1st) the Mars sign.. They are all assumed to be connected to sex also. Basically Venus/Mars/Pluto .. all = sex lol strange
And then Sun/Moon/Saturn should all = children/family/mother/father etc.. I’m still not sure whether the Sun is the father or whether Saturn is? Or is the Sun the child? Since it rules the 5th? I mean how can the Sun (Leo) be connected to personal ego/teenage years etc, and also have the maturity to be father.. Saturn *has* the maturity to be father.. So then how can the Moon be paired of with the Sun, instead of Saturn (in all synastries)?
Ok and my last inconsistency.. I’m not sure one’s chart alone can account for their children, because you have children with another person.. They are your mutual children, not only yours.. Shouldn’t we look at the composite 5th or 4th instead of natal?
