i have a question, is it true that, for example: If person A is a sun sign Aries, and person B is an Aries Ascendant, are the aries qualities more expressed in the one who has the AC or the one who has the sun sign?Because I really hate it how so many people emphasize the expression of knowledge and love of their sun sign, when its the AC that colours your approach to all things. Which one is more important, the AC or the sun? ------------------ Virgo Rising 8'57, Sagittarius Sun/4thH 3'26, Pisces Moon/6thH 8'22 "People see you as an object, not as a person, and they project a set of expectations onto you. hmmm, good question, neptune5.How, I see it the Ascendant is how one is perceived by others at first (first impressions). I've seen it described as the 'window' to ones' soul though, but.. The Sun represents some of our inner most valued traits and/ or ideologies (down to the nitty gritty; the core of ones' being). Sun= life giver, ones' ego...if we deny the sun, then well...'we' basically lose, heh. For example, with Asc. in Virgo and Aries sun I am always perceived as being 'meek/ timid' but (as my friends have always said) once someone gets to know me my more 'Arian' (outgoing, hyper, and etc) traits appear. So, I don't know which one is more important to others... I guess, one would have to ask themself, "which is more important to me, how I appear to others or who I really am 'on' the inside?". No denying that both are important.
However, for once I am going to be decisive and I'm going with the 'Sun'. (Well, for me at least). hmmm, sort of like the saying..."don't judge a book by its' cover". ------------------ 'Virgo Ascendant, Libra Moon, Aries Sun' "Believe nothing, no matter where you read it, or who said it, no matter if I have said it, unless it agrees with your own reason and your own common sense". - Buddha IP: Logged |

I personally think the Sun sign is more expressed. Im more a Gemini (sun) than Libra (asc) but those are close so hard to tell. My best friend Gem (sun) Scorpio (asc) is way way way way more Gemini but when u first meet her you swear she's a scorp. IP: Logged |

oh amelia, i love your trinity, virgo rising moon in libra sun in aries, its nice, i'm fire(sag) sun and virgo rising, but i'm pisces moon, with virgoAC i'm assuming you have 2nd cusp libra, and with moon in libra too you must have good tastes, if its not too much to ask i'd like to see a picture of your chart, (with asteroids and all, including psyche, eros, (433 & 16) and aphrodite(1388) and which decane of ACVirgo are you? ------------------ Virgo Rising 8'57, Sagittarius Sun/4thH 3'26, Pisces Moon/6thH 8'22 "People see you as an object, not as a person, and they project a set of expectations onto you. Well, it is your thread and if you insist. http://img145.imageshack.us/my.php?image=chratlo7.gif <--- my natal chart, hopefully it shows to be quite large; if not...my apologees.Yup, third decan of virgo (taurean decan). As for good taste, I guess I try too emulate this...but, for me I guess it intensifies my love of music and love of various 'art' fortes. Pisces moon; now that is cool. Pisces+their emotional depth= admirable. Anywho, don't want to distract away from the 'original' topic. ;p

oh don't worry 'bout that its large, i like the Ceres in Pisces,Moon in Libra combo, i'm Ceres in libra, moon/pisces, thats funny and neat at the same time. Your guiding planet is mercury, (if you didn't know)mine is pluto, i guess that makes me an universal oddball. back to the original thread, actually i think that AC and Sun are of equal importance, but one only becomes more important than the other when different experiences and circumstances in life are emphasized to an extent. ------------------ Virgo Rising 8'57, Sagittarius Sun/4thH 3'26, Pisces Moon/6thH 8'22 "People see you as an object, not as a person, and they project a set of expectations onto you. I've got Virgo rising, Aries Sun and Cancer Moon. For me, people don't get the Virgo flavor of my personality until they get to know me a little. I often "appear" more Virgo than Aries because I'm so darn fussy, analytical and critical of everything. I don't want to offend any Virgos by that statement, actually those are not necessarily bad traits; I think they come in very handy most of the time. People don't pick up the Virgo, in my opinion, because I've got that Plutonian/Scorpio thing goin' on - intense gaze and energy due to Pluto sitting smack on my Ascendant I would say. I have to say, all in all, I identify with my Aries Sun more because at my core I "feel" like an Aries... A: adventurous R: recalcitrant I: impetuous E: enterprising S: straightforward (I'm laughing at myself right now, because this post is SO Virgo-like. Still, I'm an Aries dammit, lol) IP: Logged |

Its hard for me to feel natural sagittarius, maybe because of my degrees being 3'26, i personally think the more centered your degrees are in a sign (personal planets) the more you feel like that sign.------------------ Virgo Rising 8'57, Sagittarius Sun/4thH 3'26, Pisces Moon/6thH 8'22 "People see you as an object, not as a person, and they project a set of expectations onto you. but i do love being all mutable, all my angles are mutable, i love that, because it gives so much adaptability, versatility, which is a sophisticated trait.------------------ Virgo Rising 8'57, Sagittarius Sun/4thH 3'26, Pisces Moon/6thH 8'22 "People see you as an object, not as a person, and they project a set of expectations onto you. Yeah, that is cool. I mean, I like the fact that 'mutable' signs are adaptable.Anywho, it's not the 'natal chart' that makes the person; it's what the person chooses to do with the chart; make the best out of it...despite what the aspects are. Off topic, but I read this and it made sense to me: "The worst people have the best charts Every experienced astrologer will agree! Those subjects who seem to have all the right planets in all the right signs, all the nicest, easiest, most charm bestowing aspects, are usually awful people! They will take advantage not only of your budding astrological experience, but of your time, energy and if your not careful, your money as well! The trouble with them is that they really do seem spectacularly nice, and sometimes generous. They may even arrive with a gift to soften you up. But when they've won you over with all the charm in the world they ask their favours. So be on the defensive if you find a subject's chart which is brimming with trines, grand trines, sextiles and lots of lovely conjunctions between the most friendly, helpful planets. Remember, however, that the symptoms described above will apply only if there is no stabilizing tee-square or other strong indication to balance the over-positive indications. If there is then your subject will not seek free rides or take advantage of others-the added stability in the chart will give solidity and base to the overwhelming charm, and the chances are that the positivity will be controlled, channelled and constructively expressed." - Parker's Astrology Though, not always the case...it does make a point. As life is one big lesson; learn from it. Sort of like having a 'grand trine' in 'your' chart; the talent is easily there...but whether one uses it or not; now that's another story... Yeeeeeeeeeeep...I'm 'off topic'. Yeah, sun...the core of ones' being...yeeeep, lol.

Haha, Amelia, I have the Aries Sun/Virgo Ascendant thing too. Although, I must say, people rarely take me for timid or meek, but rather as being arrogant and snobby. IP: Logged |

Interesting. I can give you a real, live example, cos I'm a Gem SUn and I'm involved with a Gem ASC guy.I'm defintely THE Gemini between the two of us. Gemininess runs much more to the core of who I am, but those qualities aren't always obvious to others, thanks ot my Virgo ASC. However, when I'm around my Gem ASC cutie, his ASC helps draw out those Gem qualities. My guy has Aqua Sun, and he's Aqua to the core. But there's a curious Gem air about him. He's talkative, he's inquisitive, he talks with his hands, he's funny, his eyes have that mischievious Gemini twinkle and he has a boyish smile. On first impression, he appears more Gemini than I do, especially in a room full of people. He just "works the room" the way you'd expect a Gem would, while I tend to be quiet and observant, like a Virgo would. However, sit down with us for a more intimate conversation and suddenly I'm the Gem and he's clearly an Aqua. I know a little about everything, can keep the conversation moving, make a joke out of anything, and can talk anyone's ear off, while my guy comes across aloof yet friendly, interested but detached, and sounds intelligent and knowledgable about whatever he's talking about. Def the Sun too, I think. I'm a Taurus Sun/Leo ASC surrounded by Leos. My ASC def doesn't have the same battery power as their Suns do. I don't know where they get all their energy from.I know a few ppl with Taurus ASC. The general impatience of their natural Sun signs (i.e. Aries, Sag) def shines through on most occasions.
