From Lisa Dale Miller: quote: Full Moon in Cancer Wednesday, January 3, 2007 5:57am PST, 8:57am EST, 13:57 GMT/UT 12° Cancer 48'Happy New Year! Let's start it off right with a full-hearted celebration of love, compassion, forgiveness, and emotional connectedness. This is the Full Moon to swim in the unbounded ocean of love that connects us with the rhythm of life and all other sentient beings. With Moon in Cancer pulsating the energy of caring, compassion, and nurturance, trining Uranus in Pisces awakening into this unbounded ocean of love can be yours if you are willing to let go and dive in wholeheartedly! This is that once a year when the Full Moon is posited in the astrological sign it rules, making the force of love and trust so abundant, that we must open our hearts; even with Mercury (mind) and Sun (ego) in the hard-reality sign of Capricorn . So those of you who have lost faith in love, though you may not believe it, you too are surrounded by love. Love is everywhere, in every particle, in every wave. It is the glue that binds us to our planet and all existent life upon it. Cancer rules emotional healing of all kinds and this is the Full Moon to make an effort to bring love back to all your relationships; especially between family members. The Moon in Cancer is the focal planet of a Yod with Chiron (wounding) in Aquarius (emotional distancing) and Jupiter (generosity) in Sagittarius (belief in basic goodness.) Yods are constricting until one is ready to face the frustrated, held back energy inherent in the planetary relationships and transform suffering into liberation. In this case: liberating the heart through forgiveness and compassion. With Venus (love), Mercury (communication) and Sun (ego) in Capricorn, this is a "get real and get committed" Full Moon: a Moon for setting an intention to love others even through the hard times. Jupiter, Mars (action) and Pluto (letting go of past pain) in Sagittarius make this is a great Full Moon to reach out and heal estrangements and conflicts in your life. People do hurtful things; it is part of the human condition. But the Moon in Cancer asks us to consider forgiveness and compassion as a way to heal wounds of the heart. If you feel too vulnerable to do this by yourself, have the process take place surrounded by a group of supportive family and friends. This will ease those first steps toward reconnection and forgiveness. Though nothing is more important than our families, we often get caught up in the day-to-day hassles of family life. This is the Full Moon to stop and really appreciate our loved ones: to fully embrace them, look deeply into their eyes and let our hearts soar in the recognition of oneness. It is also a great Full Moon to do something wonderful for the primary caregiver in your family. It's mid-week: How about cooking dinner for the one who takes on that responsibility most days? Cancer represents the Nurturing Mother archetype, which for all you single Dads is definitely not gender specific. Get the family together and organize a special treat for the one who cares for you. Nurturing the nurturer is a necessity that is often ignored. Cancer's greatest gift is the consideration of the needs of others over our own needs. To help others and relieve suffering is strengthening for everyone: to disregard others, only weakens oneself. Neptune (unconditional love) in Aquarius (the collective) coupled with Uranus (the awakener) in Pisces (interconnectedness) should contribute greatly to loosening Cancer's sense that it's all so personal, and open the way for globalizing strong emotions just enough to be able to see that the pain in the other, is your own pain as well. This is a Full Moon of opposites: the Moon Mother (Cancer, the nurturer) goes head to head with the Sun Father (Capricorn the authoritarian and rule maker) highlighting the age-old struggle of liberty and restraint, love and hate, war and peace, separation and connectedness. It is has become abundantly clear that the men who control global politics, economics and all the major religions, have no intention of promoting life lived fully in the principles of love. Their way of separation and disconnection has outlived its usefulness. Though humanity seems firmly entrenched in the Saturnian ways of contraction, separation, and war making, the Full Moon in Cancer demands equal time for the Eternal Feminine; the way of connection, nurturance, compassion, forgiveness, surrender and peace. The path of the heart must be acknowledged and embraced by every nation and by all living beings, or we will surely perish in the fires of our own greed and disconnection. The Full Moon in Cancer rules the power of the Archetypal Feminine. I know I say this every year for the Full Moon in Cancer, but it is a mantra that needs to be repeated every day! The time has come for women at every corner of the globe, of every race, every nationality and every religion, to rise up and break the continuing cycle of female powerlessness. It is our responsibility to wake up to reality, raise our voices as one, throw off our chains, and withdraw our political and economic support from the male-dominated institutions that have failed to create a safe, secure, and fair world. Women have to support each other in an effort to take our places as heads of State, corporate leaders and religious authorities. Retrograde Venus in Capricorn points to how women have abdicated the power to be at the forefront of the world's governments and businesses. It shouts to Everywoman that there is no one who will give us the power: we must find our own economic self-sufficiency by supporting our own networks. C'mon America, you ended 2006 by saying, "NO MORE!" So let's start 2007 by demanding change for peace. The time has come to insist that the way of the heart, the language and action of love, is the only policy we will support with our votes and our dollars. Gather the women and likeminded men in your family, in your neighborhood, and join the swelling ranks of Americans walking the path of peace. Say "no" to violence and "yes" to meaningful conversation that opens awareness on all sides for responsible peacemaking. So on this Full Moon in Cancer, bring together likeminded people at your Full Moon ritual, and commit yourselves to empowering the way of the Eternal Feminine in your life, your community, and throughout the world.

Im paranoid and ready to pull out my hair. I hope this full moon comes up roses for me.I thought I was going to be home in Toronto by Jan 3rd and that I would have all of the 4th and just in case the 5th to get my visa to Pakistan. I only have the 5th because I didnt realize I was taking an overnight flight and wouldnt reach till the 4th. I already bought my ticket to Pakistan. talk about calling it close. i just hope things work as planned and nothing out of the ordinary gets in the way of my trip. Im going to try for a standby flight but I have no clue what the chances of catching one are during the holiday season...probably not good. IP: Logged |

Thank you, 'zala! Happy New Year to you, sweetie! I love that picture too... it's gorgeous!I'm so glad this Full Moon is about love & nurturing. I've been feeling very low, with the divorce under way (underestimated how awful it can feel, even if it is totally warranted), and I could use some loving cosmic energy right about now... I'm also missing my best friend, my Pisces; perhaps it is time to contact him, I don't know... Sunshine IP: Logged |

Thanks Z This one's in my 1st house. I need to work on loving myself this time around for sure! P.S. My kittens are already bouncing off the walls hehe. They seem to like the full moon! ------------------ `Who are you?' said the Caterpillar. This was not an encouraging opening for a conversation. Alice replied, rather shyly, `I--I hardly know, sir, just at present-- at least I know who I WAS when I got up this morning, but I think I must have been changed several times since then.' ~Lewis Carroll IP: Logged |

I just got home from my holiday trip, I had to drive through snow, I'm drained, my cats are all needy, my house is in a mess since I didn't have time ot clean before I left and people are bugging me for this and that, and ALL I want to do is turn off the lights, pull the curtains closed, crawl under the covers, and sleep through all of tomorrow. This full moon will be in my 10H, so the Sun will bein my 4th. It'll be squaring my Chiron. And I'm already feeling very crabby. GO AWAY, WORLD!!! IP: Logged |

I just looked at my natal chart & i see that the transiting Moon's been busy - she's opposed my natal Moon & natal Mercury already in the past couple days, and will be exactly opposite my natal Mars when the Full MOon exacts tomorrow, in my 8th house. No wonder I've been so blue the past couple days, not to mention it's 'that time'... IP: Logged |

well, it's the full moon in cancer, and i have to say, an emotional one for me.I am a virgo, scorp asc, taurus moon. Also, saturn in cancer......... reading the written text in the first post, made me realize, I really WANT to reach out and touch my loved ones with praise, love and admiration....but I am just too scared to call for whatever reasons. So, for me, this time has actually been harder for me to call my friends and family than at other points. I am thinking my saturn in cancer in the ninth house could be up to no good on this full moon. that, and all the emotional confusion is no picnic, but hey, tomorrow is another day, right?
