What transits might make a woman sense her biological clock, especially if she's never had children?

Well, I'm not a baby person, so babies don't do that for me.

I've always wanted to have a son, but it wasn't a pressing desire, just a sort of "oh, that would be nivce, I suppose. But a month ago it DID become a pressing desire, right out of the blue. I just started freaking out, thinking that I was getting too old, and if I tried now, and didn't have a son the first chance around I would be too old to trry again, or maybe I wouldn't be able to concieve, etc. etc. And hell, what would I do about the father thing, since I don't want to get marry, and I have no male family that I want near my theoretical child? Also I like this guy who already has kids and has hinted he's not that big on having more, and I just go through moments for being very confused and not sure what i really want. Hormones obviously. But distressing nonetheless.

I can't think of what transit or transits could have brought this on. I recently had a Jupiter return in my 3H. Saturn went into my 12th and is sextiling my Ceres...er? Seems too weak for this. Pluto has beenawful to me, so even if I really do want a child, beyond the hormones, I can't have one with the way my life is a mess right now.

I don't do predictive astrology, so does anyone know what would you look at for indicators for a woman having children in teh chart? I.e., like if she had them late in life, or not aat all? Or aybe she'd just be better off getting a puppy?

I'm thinking about getting a puppy. I was looking at breeders tonight online.

Hi GN ~

My sympathies for hearing the cursed bio-clock-ticking thing…..
What’s going on in your 5th house – anything?? Did any planets besides Sun, Moon, Merc or Venus just change houses??
You ain’t too old I had a healthy son at 42…..
But without the Father-role filled with some semblance of permanency it’s a hard row to hoe – single-motherhood is the toughest thing I have EVER done. And you could be blessed with a special needs (ADHD) child as I was, which ramps the challenge up even more…..
Puppies would be good The downside is that you need to be around pretty much constantly in the beginning to raise them. Too bad there isn’t an animal that combines the devotion of a dog with the ease of care of a cat…..

GN, *hugs*

It's never too late; it could still happen when the time is just right..

I think you would look for a positively aspected 5th house ruler in your natal chart, and what planets are located in the 5th house. Transits/progressions involving the 5th house ruler might indicate opportunities for this happening.

Thanks guys,

sd - thanks for the offer, but, er, aren't you a Sag?

Azalaksh - I hadn't thought about the 5H ruler thingy. Er, my 5h ruler is *drumroll* Saturn! Geesh. Yes it changed houses recently, AND I figured out it's currently opposing tr Ceres, and both are aspecting my natal Sun-Ceres conjunct. *grr*

All these current Cap transits are going through my 5th now, but it was mainly when Sautrn was moving into my 12H, or there abouts, when this started.

Also, I suspect this may have little to do with the guy I like right now. *His* Saturn falls in my 1H, and makes challenging aspects to my Sun and moon. Somehow, I feel the need to blame him for some of this. LOL.

I know I do have some time - I'm 35. But it *feels* like I don't, like i have to pregnant RIGHT NOW. *sigh* And that I could have a special needs child is likely - I have Asperger's Syndrome myself.

I already have 4 cats. Somehow, I still have that void to fill. At the moment I want something that needs more care and I'd have to spend more time with - I'm thinking about it, but I don't see me getting a dog before the end of this year anyhow. So I keep telling myslef to be patient, although my hormones are doing a serious counterattack.

Is it true that having many hard aspects to the Moon can point to infertility or childbirth problems? I could never tell if this was biological or psychological or both. Psychological healing... fine, possible. Biological---diff story. Anyone...?

Interesting. I have two hard aspects to my moon. I have PCOS (polycystic ovarian syndrome) which can cuase infertility. I have been pregnant once before (didn't come to term) - and got pregnant WAY too easily. But I was younger then. PCOS may hinder my chances of getting pregnant now. But fortunately there's diet and exercise and other things one can do to cope with PCOS, and I've gotten stricter about doing those things now that I'm thinking i may want a baby in the near future.

GN & tea,

PCOS doesn't have to cause infertility. They can put you on the pill to protect against that & regulate your cycle, and when you want to have a baby, you go off it, and your cycle resumes & rights itself within a few months. They have the fertility drugs too, if needed (though the possibility of multiples increases with those).

Thanks sunshine. But yeah, I alreayd knew that. My PCOS is pretty mild. I'm not goingo nt he pill because it only helps with regulating your cycle, and not with what really causes PCOS, which is hyperinsulinism and insultin resistence. That you can control with diet and exercise, and meds if needed. For me just a low carb diet and exercise every morning keeps my insulin in check, and that in turns regulates my cycle.

Plus I can't go ont eh pill again. That's what they used to trteated my PCOS when I was a teen. I had to stop in my early 20's because it was causing some many other problems, like angina and severe weight gain. No surpise - the excess insulin that causes PCOS is converted by the ovaries into execess estrogen and testosterone. And the pill is just more hormones on top of that. So in the long run, the pill isn't a very good choice for PCOS women.

Are you serious about the hard Moon aspects and fertility problems? Great now thats all I need is to worry about on more physical problem. I have alot of hard aspected Moon, and have menstrate problems, does that mean I'll have a tough time with having a baby? The same aspects that will help me succeed will also be the same aspects that will destroy me(I think Angelina Jolie has a tattoo that says something similiar)

------------------
Sun in Libra
Moon in Cancer
Jupiter in Cancer
Venus in Virgo
Mars in Cancer
Ascendant in Cancer

I "FEEL" therefor I am

Oy... I'm sorry, I knew that I might end up scaring ppl! No, it's just that I've read several childbirth-related interps that put me ill-at-ease... I'll be back to talk about this later though.

I got pregnant and gave birth at age 40

I conceived the first time without contraception....didnt realise it would happen that quick, due to my age, but it did.

Dont worry, you have plenty of time!!

It is also the hardest of jobs I ever did....but has brought enormous amounts of love, laughter and tears to my life....

I'd originally asked because I have an exact Moon/Lilith opposition among four other hard aspects. According to this site, hard Moon/Lilith is supposed to indicate possible miscarriage.

I want to take back my question though... it seems like, if medical astrology is in fact credible, then there are more factors to examine than hard aspects to Moon...

Tea - don't worry about scaring us. We're big girls. We can handle it.

I have both asteriod Lilith and BM Lilith both conjunct Pluto in 1H, and very wide opposed moon, and tighter square my Sun. That bothers me. I got pregnent once before, when I was 21. I had just got off BC due to complications and *snap* I was pregnant. But I was in constant, gut-ripping pain from the first week on. The doctor thought my body was trying to spontaneously abort but was having trouble doing so. I ended up having an abortion. This is one of my several fears about getting pregnant again - however intuition tells me that this is very unliekly to happen now that my body's more mature. And I trust my intuition (afterall my intuition told me i was pregnant the *night* I conceived, and told me something was very wrong from the start).

G.N.

t.Urns is currently at 11.49 Pisces
that's a couple of degrees prior to squaring your Mc/Ic ..
.. it's also a few degrees prior to conjoining your Dsc . / opposing Asc ..

.. plus tSaturn squaring your natal Saturn .. i.e. you must have felt that one build up ..
i.e it's travels look like it's been effecting both natal Mars and Saturn ..

it's currently backing up and applying to your Mars by square .. Saturn will turn direct at 18 degrees leo ..
that's the same degrees as you Mars ..

.. i mention it effecting your natal saturn .. as Sat made it to 25 leo deg before going retro in dec .. that's 4 degree prior a square to your natal Sat degrees .. at a guess you would have felt that happening .. as far as i know Sat is considered to be the main bio-clock amongnst the planets
( i may be wrong though) .. and the Sat square natal Sat would be felt as 'crisis' or 'decision' time ..

and i see Pluto is in the background at 27 sag .. squaring your virgo placements ..
( .. i realise you know that data .. just adding in case .. :-) .. )

Thx HD.

So Saturn's supposedly the main bio clock ticker, huh? That figs. Saturn has it out for me most days. Saturn's not that nice to very Uranian folks.

I think HD is right about this being linked to my Saturn sqauring tr Saturn. The "desire" has been diminishing rapidly over the past week. Today I was in the store, and there was a woman with two young boys who were fussing and fighting while she was trying to ring up at the self check up. I thought "Thank god that's not me." A couple weeks ago, I was seeing parents with their young sons and it was getting to me. It's seems I'm more of my old self. Right now I'm just plain horny more than wanting to get pregnant.

I wonder if I'm going to go through that again when Saturn goes direct and squares my natal Saturn again? Oh boy.

Hmmm. Yeah, OK. Thanks. I was kind of hoping this thread was dead. LOL. I'm not sure I follow everything that Zoka person was saying, but it seems he/she would say my likelihood of having a baby is pretty slim, due to having Saturn as my 5H ruler and Saturn conjunct Venus.

I don't think I would personaly put a lot of faith in that person's interpretations, but all the same, it's not what I need to think about right now, the idea of being barren and all that crap...*sigh*

.. reason i mentioned t.saturn is that on two occasions i sat in on chart readings where the astrologer mentioned it .. ( as the query was raised ) .. and the square aspect that occurs after the saturn return usually happens around age 35 or so .. which is around the time gals start questioning '' is it too late? '' .. i guess it's the saturn 'i'm getting older' effect .. although on an emotional level that's hit me during a chiron to chiron transit .. so had a thought maybe t.chiron might play a part ... but i'm a guy so the 'having kids' biological clock doesn't figure in the same way .. and as far as chiron is concerned it's orbit is rather eliptical .. wereas with saturn one knows it will be fairly regular .. and a btw. observation .. t.Neptune has moved off from trining my moon .. and t.Urns is starting to square it .. can definitely feel the difference ..
( saw the thread death wish :-) .. though .. figured one more post wouldn't hurt )
