I realize that I've won myself much UNpopularity recently, I posted this in Free-For-All already, but no one replied. So I'm posting it again here...

The Astro.com charts I used to copy and paste here always expired. I've joined Photobucket.com but I have no idea how to use it properly- I know I sound like an idiot...

Could you please let me know how to use Photobucket correctly so I can save images or pictures and transfer them here, such as horoscopes? Thanks.

It's quite simple actually. All you need to do is to upload the images and charts to Photobucket (where it says Upload Images & Videos => click on "Browse" and select the files from your hard drive and then click on "Upload"). Once you have uploaded your files all you have to do is to insert the IMG Code of the respective file into your posts on LL.

Hope this helps!!!

SagSun,

Thanks...but hard drive? I don't even really know what that is...I mean, I've heard of it, of course, but I'm not sure if it's part of a computer or something I have to purchase? As for the clicking of "Browse"- I'm not sure how that can be done, either. I don't know if I should left click or right click the mouse, and where I should click on "Browse", and worse yet, I suspect I don't fully know what "upload" is- is upload the opposite of download?

Sorry, those were very stupid questions, I know- but I'm afraid I really need to have them solved in order to post charts here at LL. I'd appreciate your advice

Hard drive contains the files you have stored in your computer D. You can upload the files you have stored in your computer to photobucket.

You first have to log in. This takes you to a page where it says "Email your images and videos to family and friends! Read More..." in the head of the page. Below this, on the right hand of the page, you will find a box where it says "Upload Images & Videos" ... "Choose an image". In that box there's a button that says "Browse" ... you now have to left click on that button. This button opens a window which allows you to select the files from your own computer. Select the file you want to upload from your computer to Photobucket and then click "Open" (left click). Now the window closes and you're back on the Photobucket webpage. Below "Choose an Image" it now shows the file that you've just selected for upload. Now the only thing left to do is to click (left click) on the "Upload" button below the box. Your file is now being uploaded from your computer to Photobucket (this may take a little while, so you have to be patient). Once the upload is completed successfully, it says "Images Uploaded!" on the top of the page.

PS: "Upload" is when you transfer files FROM your own computer to a webpage. "Download" is when you transfer a file TO your own computer from a webpage.

Sorry...

How do get your chart from astro.com into your computer files? First you need a chart already stored (downloaded?) in your files before you upload to Photobucket... How do you go about doing that?

1- Go to www.astro.com, get your chart made for you there.
2- Your chart is now in front of you. Click right on your mouse. Select 'save your picture' and save it into 'My Pictures'.
3- Enter www.photobucket.com, get yourself an account there and log-in to your account.
There you will see UPLOAD, yes it is the opposite of DOWNLOAD. You know, you download things to your computer, however uploading process is the reversal of it. You upload things from your computer to web.
Anyway, click on it. You remember you did download your chart into 'My Pictures' right? Okay so far, you are going well. Now click on 'browse' and open 'My Pictures', and find your chart there. When you find it, just double click on it. Then one more click effort for 'UPLOAD', wait a few seconds, drum your fingers meanwhile. See there it is! Do you see 'IMG code' at the bottom of the picture? Copy it, right-clicking on it, and paste it here where it says 'Your Reply'. You did it!

** How do get your chart from astro.com into your computer files? **

1 .. you do the chart e.g at astro.com or wherever .. *

2 .. when the chart "image" displays in your browzer ..
clik on the image .. or clik and hold ...
( near the image center works best )
a drop down menu should appear giving you options ..
go 'save file' .. or equivalent .. rename it if needed ..
going 'save as' will give the option to rename it before saving ..
and also lets you see if .. for an image .. what the suffix is ..
if it's .gif or .jpg .. .. then you know your saving/downloading the right file ..

now it should reside on your hard drive .. ready to be plastered on the w w w :-)

via photobucket or wherever ..

Slayer... I still can't get it...

I right click my mouse, I see 'Save Picture As', I click it, then it opens to a box that says on top 'Save Picture' and at the bottom the picture's info is highlighted blue in 'File name:'... I do the whole Photobucket process, and all I get is this: 'Upload Error. Invaild file for upload'.

Hi AAA ~ how's the Yod treatin' ya??

Just to add a bit to all the previous good instructions re: saving images --
When you have your chartwheel in astro.com, first left-click on the middle of it so it opens the chart in a new window without all of astro.com's text & pics (before saving it). The file name is probably the issue -- since astro.com's file name looks like this: astro.com/cgi/showgif.cgi?lang=e&gif=achart_4dgifkWqZ-u1109014729.67406.15579.gif&res=100&va=]
I think some of the upload-utilities may have limitations in the number of characters you can upload (I've had issues with this before).

Therefore:
Right-click on (any) image.
At "Save As", rename and save to wherever in your computer.
Make sure "File Type" in the "Save As" dialog box is .gif, .bmp, or .jpg.
Then go ahead with your uploading to Photobucket or wherever.
