Hi, I was wondering if someone could explain the whole idea of an "indigo child"? What exactly are they, and what behaviors do they exhibit? Cause sometimes I wonder if my Autistic brother might be one, or if I might even be one because of my learning disability.------------------ sun/mercury in taurus, moon in leo, scorpio rising, venus/mars in pisces IP: Logged |

Yes, autistics tend to seem like indigo children. Most autistic and people with LDs would qualify, including myself, and I have Asperger's. However, believers in this stuff would shutter at the thought - they only want the kids THEY want to be indigos to be indigos. If you're not one of those kids, you can't be an indigo and that's that. Trust me - I've done the rounds with these people on this very thing. They're idiots, to be as kind and civil about it as I can. So I personally think the whole Indigo chidlren thing is bunk. It's basically parents needing to feel like their "not normal" child is special and better than those other boring normal kids somehow, and quack "experts" feed those parents' egos. I don't recommend buying into the propaganda. Children like these have always been with us - we were just marginalizing them with medication, abusive discipline, institutions and special education programs before. While this may seem like a positive turn, it's not really the acceptence these children need from us. Ultimately it hurts the kids, who have to grow up with all these deluded adults expecting them to be the "vanguard of a new era" or something. BTW, my opinions on this issue stems from not just having Asperger's myself and having worked with other autistics, both children and adults, but also having worked in education with special needs children for over 10 years. Indigo children is a blanket term used to shorten th explanation of the evolvement of the human brain-Our 'primitive' selves are aware of the changes on planet Earth and the need to adapt to them- Many children dubbed 'special' by the school system are actually very special to the evolvement of earth mankind- These childrens brains, if we can stop medicating them to be like everyone else-, are more adaptable to say the idea of galactic interchange, thought transference, star encoding, etc. Their brains are evolved beyond commodity issues and more into universal ones- considered 'different' and seeing as how in our society, 'different' is seen as negative, they sometimes can have a hard time socially, given meds, taken to shrinks, even punished! They may be being forced to fit into a place no longer truly available for any of us. They escape the illusion-IP: Logged | |
