I do not "hate" drugs so much as what they do to people, or more correctly what people let them do to them~~~

A Pisces sun I am and "appreciate" be-ing altered, however........all things in good time...

Ironicially watched "Requium for a Dream," for the first time yesterday and it actually hurt me to watch, really....hurt to see, feel those SO connected, SO dependent on drugs~~~What awesome cinematography, direction to make one feel...

I take a prescription beta blocker as needed for heart paps and blood pressure, but beyond that I rely on herbs/vitamins, diet, exercise and rest to heal physically.

well, i can't stay off those kind of drugs...i tried...and failed. i suffer from rheumatoid arthritis. i live on prescription drugs. altho i still believe tht may be i shud try alternate healing, but i cant take tht risk of stopping the drugs until i actually see an improvement. i wish i cud, tho

I rarely go to the doctor. A few weeks back, I got some sort of throat infection, nurse friend took a peek and said it looked like strept throat. I just loaded up on r&r and fluids and voila! Within a few days, it was gone and I was fine. I let my body heal itself whenever reasonably possible. I'm not a great patient, I don't take meds as directed, so I figure, why bother?

Recreational drugs? Well, I've got Nep/Scorp/3rd apecting Sun, Moon, Merc, Saturn, Chiron, Pluto, Asc. Don't know how it plays into things...but I can tell you I was a BIG dabbler in my youth. Nothing ever got a "hold of me" though, well, except ciggies (I still love 'em). I was able to experiment with anything and put it down if I felt it might be getting out of hand. Wish I could say the same for those I've known/loved...sigh.

oh, yes, I was totally anti drug until about 16. Then I got a job- and hey, all the guys got a break to smoke a cigarette- and I started smoking too. That's the one I wish I never would have done.

The first time I smoked pot was the night i graduated from high school- i would never do it while in high school- because I didn't want to "ruin my mind." I didn't become a "stoner" until I was about 26 years old.

For a few years, I dabbled- only on holidays and long weekends from work. Yup, it was FUN!! Cocaine is fun if you aren't an idiot about it, pot is nice to relax, h@ll, even those "legal" prescription drugs can be a good time too. Ambien is still the best body buzz i have ever had.

Am I a druggie? I don't think so- considering I haven't done ANY drugs for about 7 years. And, I wasn't an idiot by wasting my youth on them. I have tried damn near everything (never heroin or acid, however..) I never lost a job, lived on the streets, or gave blow jobs for meth.

i agree with hippichick- i hate what people allow drugs to do to them. i don't understand addiction- i had no problems quitting anything (well, except those d@mn cigs- and I hate myself for being so weak.)

I am ruled by Pluto- with Neptune in the first house.

Illicit drugs? I absolutely hate them.

Although back in my early twenties, I briefly encountered cannabis in a holiday resort town, and had smoked it several times throughout the following two years. I haven't tried it again for 2 1/2 years now, and I don't feel tempted by the notion of taking it, or any other substance that I don't think I need.

While it's fine by me that others experiment or linger on those drugs, some of those individuals call those "recreational drugs"- and I personally think it is an interesting issue to further investigate, but I would definitely refuse to try any drug.

One of the guys I met recently invited some others and me to try his prescription drugs- Tegretol (carbamazepine) and what he claimed to be dephenhydramine. He tried to lure me more than once- at least three or four times, I think, but I firmly declined.

I have never taken any meds on a regular basis.
Antibiodics on occasion.
Script pain killers put me to sleep... can't work /take care of kids on them.
i have an Aqua friend who says they affect her like speed... never understood that??

I love coffee, wine / beer but for hard alcohol I will only drink Vodka and I did start smoking again, but will quit when I am ready.

I abhor strong drugs and sadly I do think less of people that have to "light up, drink a case or shoot up". To me that loss of control is ugly and when I see someone that does that I want to just barf.

re: your Aqua friend, when one is not in pain, then narcotics act on the body as an upper~~that is why so many people get hooked!

I'm with MK. I've tried a few things but mostly out of curiosity, but only after I turned 30 (must the reverse aging of Cappie). I smoked quite a lot of weed at some stage but now I can't stand it, not for others, but myself. Drugs are not for me (my curiosity is satisfied). I will not take much prescription drugs either. Painkillers are always in my house as I must be really desperate to take them.
