This site is informative, although I dunno if you have gone through it already... maybe.
http://www.astrologyclub.org/

I have a Saturn singleton in water (Scorp). And a Pluto singleton in cardinal sign (Libra). They are conjunct in 4th. (More thinking aloud… I’m just sticking to placidus… for the sake of convenience. Granted, most programs use placidus… and I dunno myself nor about astro well enough to get it straight just yet… meahh)

Hi there! I have only 1 earth sign which is Mercury in Virgo.

My dear, how is your Mars a singleton? I don't see it?!

------------------
`Who are you?' said the Caterpillar. This was not an encouraging opening for a conversation. Alice replied, rather shyly, `I--I hardly know, sir, just at present-- at least I know who I WAS when I got up this morning, but I think I must have been changed several times since then.'

I don't have any singletons, but my boyfriend's Venus is a singleton...and showing affection is very important to him, receiving and giving it...he is also a very romantic kind of person. Also, it's important to look at the house the singleton falls in. His singleton falls in the 4th house, and he is definitely more of a homebody, stay at home kind of person, and really protective of his family. I think that singletons greatly showcase the planet/sign involved. For example, if someone had a Mars singleton, they might be a very agressive and confident person in their mannerisms.

P.S.- The only singleton you have is Jupiter in Taurus...unless the ASC is counted...you'll have to ask one of the experts here.

Kevin's Mars is a singleton by house. It's the only planet in the social houses.

ASC cannot be a singleton. It has to be a major planet.

The site that teaologist posted, which myself and others have posted many times before around here, is by far the best info on the web about singletons, written by a very creditable astrologer. You can trrust what she says. I'd trust what she over anything anyone here would say.

Plus there's been a gazillion threads about singletons here. However, either you can google for them or wait for someone in a more generous mood than me to google them for you. Have your pick.

ok I looked it up "house type" is defined as

1)Angular: houses 1,4,7,and 10 (cardinal signs)
2)Succedent: houses 2,5,8,11 (fixed signs)
3)Cadent: houses 3,6,9 and 12 (mutable signs)

I do agree with jupiter being a singleton my house type...

Yeah, mine is venus in gemini/5th. My only air planet. Although my sun and mars are in air houses (7th and 3rd houses) so I wonder how it really contributes....

Question: Does a planet count as a singleton when it's the ONLY planet in a house? I couldn't find anything on that from the website.

Also, does anyone know anything about the Pluto singleton? That's my only air planet...in Libra.

CrankyCap did you see my post. its 2 posts above yours.
to have a singleton by house you must only have one planet in one of the 3 house types like say you had pluto in cadent house types, which would be the 3,6,9, or 12 houses, no other planet could be in those houses

or take Kevin's chart for example. He has no other planets in the cadent houses but jupiter which makes his jupiter a singleton by house...get it?

to have a singelton by element it would be the same idea as with the houses only you could only have one planet in one elemantal sign
the element Earth: Virgo,Capricorn,Taurus
the element Water: Pisces,Cancer,Scorpio
the element Air: Gemini,Libra,Aquarius
the element Fire: Aries,Sagittarius,Leo

the same would go for quality/modality only you could only to have a singleton by quality/modality by having one planet in either of the quality signs:
Cardinal: Aries,Libra,Cancer,Capricorn
Fixed: Taurus,Scorpio,Leo,Aquarius
Mutabel: Gemini,Virgo,Sagittarius,Pisces

lol...

Im still confused but w/e... Im just going by what that person told me .. which was that I had a mars singleton.. so I only thought I had one singleton. and I read the description for the Mars Singleton and well lol .. it didnt look good at all. and explained alot of the bad thoughts and obsessions with violence and guns and aggressive sexual behavior oh and my extreme competetiveness ...that I have seemed to have. .. haha.. well

Wasnt sure if that was just my mars in Aries but w/e I still have so much to learn...

does anyone have any info on possible astrology schools? where you can take classes and learn all about the occult science.???

THanks..

~Kevin

your jupiter singleton sextiles your mars in aries
this could explain your "bad thoughts and obsessions with violence and guns and aggressive sexual behavior"
Jupiter expands and enlarges the sign it is in and the planets it touches, it also being a singleton would make thing even more exaggerated than normal

jupiter also make a quincux to uranus and saturn

Hi, 7:21 - I have a singleton, happens to be my moon. It's in Aqua and is the only planet in the 1st quadrent of my chart, the only air placement, and the only earth house.

My Neptune is also a singleton by being the only planet in the last quadrent of my chart & the only water placement (other than my water house placements).

I feel my moon singleton alot, especially when I've been neglecting my own feelings. When my moon acts up it usually causes a rift between myself & my sweetie, or sometimes my family. I tend to disappear for hours on end. I never really do anything too exciting, but I don't feel the need to give a play by play of where I've been. I have an Aquarian moon, which I've come to learn is the placement most likely to disappear on you one day with no previous warning....Honestly.

a singleton is a planet that is alone in an hemisphere (half of circle) http://www.astrology-numerology.com/glossary2.html
or http://astrology.aryabhatt.com/astrology_glossary.asp

some ppl name it a singleton when it has no classical aspects (conj, sex, sq, trine, opp).

I'm willing to stretch the concept to include elements (the only planet in water, etc), but that's as far as I go.

Seeing Stars 7.21 - Sweety, your Mars is not a singleton. not being coupled with another planet is different than being "lonely". Your Mars communicates well with others and even has a few playmates. As far as I can tell you have no singletons.

but how about that Saturn-Uranus conj in ur 4th? that looks very complex. even more with them being retro! how does it work out for you?!?

cristiname~ that definition of a singleton was used by Marc Edmund Jones and is not what we were talking about on this thread.... the definition of singleton we were useing was
quote:
one planet that stands out by being the only one in a particular type of element, quality, or house type.
http://www.bobmarksastrologer.com/13.0Singletons.htm
so yes he does have a singleton its jupiter

both definitions are correct... its just we weren't talking about that kind of singleton
