Well you have to consider what your rising sign and your moon sign is. Your not just your sun sign, but your a combination of the sun moon rising (along with your mercury, venus, mars, jupiter, and so on)

have you calculated your chart yet?

In case you haven't discovered it yet, astro.com is an awesome site that gives you free charts. You'll be able to learn all your planetary placements and maybe you have a strong Virgo influence. Your sun sign isn't necessarily the strongest sign in your chart.

At astro.com, there's a section in "extended chart selection" called "Pullen." In there, you can pick "simple chart delineation" and it will tell you the strongest signs in your chart. I'm a Sag, but three signs are listed as stronger than my sun sign -- Virgo, Scorpio, and Cap. So you may be a "weak" Aries but "strong" Virgo.

Edit: I just thought of another possibility. In that Pullen report it also lists the most prominent planets in your chart. Mars rules Aries and Mercury rules Virgo. You may have a very prominent Mercury and weak Mars. My most prominent planet is Uranus and when I learned that it finally explained why I've always identified very much with Aquarius, which Uranus rules. Whenever I would take those online personality quizes to see which sign you're most like, I'd always get Aquarius. In your case, however, Mercury also rules Gemini, so unless you also feel similar to that sign, it's probably less likely Mercury influencing you than Virgo itself.
