Hi everyone

I am new here. I was wondering if I could get some comments on my synastry with a male "friend" of mine. I say friend because we aren't together, but things are said and done on both sides which aren't appropriate in a friendship. There is a lot of tension in the "friendship" and I'm not convinced our dymanic is very healthy. We are both holding back from involvement for a whole lot of reasons which are mostly undiscussed, but also seem to be somewhat fascinated by each other and its hard to pull away. There is nothing sexual going on, but I am extremely attracted to him and it seems to go both ways. We sleep in each others bed and I caught him trying to stroke my thigh while he thought I was asleep the other night (!). These are our aspects:

me - 26th December 74
him - 5th January 77

aspects:
26/12/1974 Aspect 05/01/1977 Orb/Value
Sun Conjunction Mars 1.16 233
Moon Square Venus 1.23 -205
Mercury Opposition Moon 1.58 96
Venus Conjunction Sun 1.50 262
Venus Conjunction Mercury 1.02 205
Venus Square Pluto 2.19 -70
Mars Conjunction Neptune 3.46 71
Jupiter Trine Moon 2.18 74
Jupiter Trine Uranus 1.24 53
Jupiter Square Neptune 2.22 -64
Saturn Opposition Sun 1.39 -95
Saturn Opposition Mercury 1.13 -81
Saturn Square Pluto 2.08 -61
Uranus Trine Venus 1.02 66
Uranus Sextile Mars 1.23 48
Neptune Conjunction Neptune 4.33 48
Pluto Square Moon 0.57 -112
Pluto Conjunction Pluto 4.59 40
1196 -688 508

BTW, when I run a synastry online, I never come up with Mars conjunct Venus, however my venus is in Capricorn and his Mars is in Capricorn. Does this mean our planets are conjunct or not??

Any replies/ advice appreciated!

Ur Venus is conj his mars only if they are within 10 degrees of each other.

This is from Linda Goodman's Relationship signs:

Sun conj Mars: I don't suppose you need astrology to tell you that there's a great deal of sexual chemistry and passion between you. It can be really overwelming at times. In addition, one of you contributes vital energy to mutual or separate businees goals, increasing ambition and brining financial success. One of you (guess which one!) can be a little impatient and demanding at times but simultaneously protective and affectionare. You are a blend of vices and virtues, one might say.

Moon Square Venus:

Especially in very close and intimate relationships, there's a strong possibility (lets be honest and say probability) of periodic tension caused by petty jealousy, most likely imaginary and unnecessary. Both of you will be jealous to some degree, but oe of you is open and direct about it.

I promise to type up more when i get the chance meanwhile

Thanks for those comments!

Wow, both those things certainly ring true. I get jealous but tell him about it. He gets jealous but won't admit it - just disappears for a while or makes sarcastic remarks. eek!

The relationship is certainly wierd and intense, and its kinda doing my head in!

Do you have any comments about the Moon square Pluto and the Saturn square Pluto? I have wondered about these aspects and what they have to do with the dynamics. Plus I notice I have many venus contacts with his planets but he has only one with my planets (venus to uranus). I think I'm the more romantically attracted of us...I certainly pursue him more, but I am more extroverted, and he is quite shy in general...

Hmm lets see again from the book

Moon square Pluto:

This is another one of those Pluto (or Saturn) karmic patterns from something one of you did against the other in earlier lifetimes that needs to be worked out and balanced in this one. It will take lots of gentle patience, tolerance, understanding and forgiveness to ease the stress and strain of this vibration. Pluto may expect the Moon to make most of the adjustments, so the relationship may cause emotional disturbance in the Moon unless a concious attempt is made by both parties to smooth any disagreements before they grow into mountains of misery. Be kind to each other life is so much more comfortable that way.

I love Linda Goodman's relationship book. Its sweet and gives hope. Sorry for such little responses im doing homework (yes at 1 am lol ) and rather procrastinating.

My birthtime isn't exact but is about 1.30pm. Nobody can remember exact time!

I don't know his birthtime, and he hates astrology, so I won't ask him!

the composite chart for you two seems as strange as your "relationship".
there is a mars semisquare venus showing emotional/sexual attraction.venus is square to uranus which is a very intense sexual tension but it is also highly unstable.venus is also opposed to saturn which can retard relationships,so there is a on again /off again aspect to this relationship.the venus/uranus midpoint is conjunct to mars adding to the intense sexual attraction.
on the other hand.
moon is opposed to the mars/neptune midpoint showing the "hidden" nature of the relationship.mercury is square to pluto retarding communication and showing unconscious motivation.sun is also square to pluto indicating a strong sexual implulse, but one that can be hidden, obsessive or destructive.the strangest impulse is chiron opposed to the uranus/pluto midpoint and square to the venus/sun midpoint.this is extremely kinky and shows a inability to separate pleasure from pain.this is characteristic of a incestual relationship many times.

Thanks William.

Wow, a lot of that rings true...on again, off again is right.

Do you have a graphic of this composite you can paste in?

"moon is opposed to the mars/neptune midpoint showing the "hidden" nature of the relationship."

Can you expand on that - what exactly do you mean? Hidden from others or ourselves (seems to be maybe both)?

"mercury is square to pluto retarding communication and showing unconscious motivation".

yep!

"the strangest impulse is chiron opposed to the uranus/pluto midpoint and square to the venus/sun midpoint.this is extremely kinky and shows a inability to separate pleasure from pain.this is characteristic of a incestual relationship many times."

wow really? Where did you get that from? The relationship seems sort of like siblings but where there is an inappropriate sexual undercurrent...

Also, can I ask if you see anything in there which might indicate longevity, if not of a relationship then the friendship at least? All things considered I do think I would stand by him as a friend, even if everything goes horribly wrong!

i used astro.com for the composite.i used noon for both of you as well as sydney for both of you.as a consequence the house placements are not significant.

yeah ,it kinda looks like both of you are keeping it on the down low.

the inappropriate element is from the chiron mostly and from the uranus/pluto secondarily

longevity may be possible as friends as the sun sextile uranus could give stability to this unusual relationship.the mars/venus midpoint is conjunct mercury so there is some positive social feelings.
but my opinion is that the sexual tension is so outrageous that simple friendship may not satisfy him, especially since he is already rubbing on your body unassisted.

Interesting your conclusions about potential longevity of friendship, as you seem to be saying that he would cut and run, if he can't handle the tension...which since the leg rub incident last weekend, seems to be exactly what is happening! He's become very evasive and his hardly responding to my messages. Hmph. Perhaps its for the best, all things in the chart considered!

RE the "incest" aspect in our chart, both of us have some family sexual abuse in our history. Would this then mean that its a matter of both of us having this kind of aspect which then shows up in the composite? What does it mean for how we might interact with each other? Is the pleasure/pain thing sexual or is it a psychological dynamic?

I don't know the houses for him, but when I ran my own chart some time back it showed Saturn in the 4th. Unhappy home life.

Can you recommend a really good book on psychological aspects of astrology?

it could well be that your common abuse experiences is what the composite is indicating.abusive experiences can "bend" the personality structure toward abusive relationships through life,so there could be a psychological abusive aspect to this relationship.lack of trust, lack in esteem and confiding in the wrong people are some of the hazards one can expect with a abused history.
all sensation ends in your mind .when pleasure and pain can not be separated in ones mind ,the the more"normal",organic growth of the personality is inhibited.
i can't think of any one book, but anything by dane rudhyar goes into the conscious and unconscious meanings of astrology.
