I've been reading an article on spirit guides and natal astrology. In this article the author mentions that the Saturn placement is one's Achilles heel so I am trying to decipher the effects of a retrograde Saturn in Aries in the 7th House.

I'd be interested in hearing more about this as well. I have retro Saturn in Taurus 6th house but interpreted in the 7th.

Mudmama,

I have a similar book: Karmic Astrology: Retrogrades & Reincarnation by Martin Schulman. I also have a Liz Greene book on Saturn (packed it already in anticipation of my move).

Retrograde Saturn indicates that you are still working on the same lessons/karma from previous lives. Sure, you were a slowbee in a previous life or lives, and you didn't quite learn what you were supposed to ... but your retrograde Saturn is offering you a fabulous do-over, no penalty!

Saturn retrograde in Aries is concerned with individuality, self-esteem, and independence. Debbi Kempton-Smith says that Saturn in 1st house or Aries produces a lot of comedians since "they're afraid people will laugh at them anyway, and Saturn, always practical, might as well get paid for it." And you have Saturn in the 7th house, which is all about relationships. You'll have a lot to learn about negotiating with others. You'll also have to be careful that a bad relationship doesn't prevent you from trying again with someone else. You have a lot of learning to do about yourself, who you are and how you relate to other people, and you'll have to be careful that the people around you don't infringe on you too much or make you feel bad about being yourself.

Aquaspryt ~ Saturn in Taurus is a really extreme placement. They get too attached to things, especially if they're associated with the past. They can be Negative Nellies in thinking habits. They have a lot to learn about money and possessions and security and values. Here's the good news: (from "Karmic Astrology") "The interesting thing about Retrograde Saturn in Taurus is that it gives the individual the ability to actually reverse any negative physical Karma he has accumulated in the past. In its place he can build anew all that is meaningful to him." Saturn retrograde in Taurus in the 7th house, you are dealing again with relationships and you will need to focus on not being possessive, and it's important that your partners have the same value system as you.

I say this as a gal with a retrograde Saturn herself.

Neferemi- thank you for sharing that and WOW does that nail it! Without going into a long saga I will say that I am currently, it would appear, embracing the energy of that Saturn retro. Ending a bad relationship, focusing more on independence, self-esteem, etc. I'm a follower of numerology too and I am just starting my second pinnacle shift which just so happens to be about independence this time around. Your post has been a great help.

yay for do overs!

Oh bother, Neferemi! Insanity is doing the same thing over and over and expecting different results.

All of it is too true. That part of negative thinking? Lots of stinking thinking in ye old brain of mine. Though much, much better these past couple of years.

Oddly, I dislike possessiveness and I hate when someone tries to possess me! My mother said I came out of the womb extremely independent and I'm still that way. Kinda fits the Saturn in Aries which, BTW, I have found fits me to a "T" as well. Maybe it's because my Saturn is retro at 3 degrees Taurus and in my 6th House (Aries).

Thanks for posting this.

mudmama~Thanks, but will have to check that link out later.

I regard any retrograde planet as a repeat of that planet in that sign. That said, there are a number of reasons why one would do that.

Tradition says that it is like repeating a grade in school and sometimes it is. Even then, the retrograde should be a bit stronger than a direct planet because, having taken the class once, you did learn something.

However, one may repeat a planet in a sign because that version of it works best for what we plan to achieve in this lifetime

--or because it is fun

--or because we deserve a break

--or ??? think of reasons

Psycholgically, retrograde Saturn is more "responsive" than "responsible". By that we mean empathic--feeling the pain of others and responding to it either from a caring nature or to ease your own discomfort........not because you think it is your job.

You are a blessing and you are blessed.

I have retrograde saturn in the 2nd H at 26deg leo.

Yep, I'm smack bang in the middle of my saturn return right now.

I actually like it I'm learning A LOT about myself and believe I'm changing for the better and feel stronger because of it. Of course I'm kinda confusing to everyone around me as I grow, but those who love me accept that and I love them for that. Especially my younger lover who probably should've run screaming months ago, he cops the brunt of my insecurities and changing wants and needs. I don't deserve him but I really really appreciate him.

What is the interpretation for retro saturn in leo???

I have Saturn retrograde in Gemini in the 1st. I like Rev. Alive's theory. I don't know for sure. Sometimes I can my Saturn in Gemini interp as correct, but sometimes I don't really feel it.

MUDMAMA, if you don't mind, would you edit that web address, so that our frame isn't stretched horizontally?
