well, if you didn't know already, she's going through a major breakdown. she shaved her head with an electric razor, for no apparent reason.

i also read on another site, that on a FULL MOON day she filed for divorce from husband, Kevin Federline. on a NEW MOON day she shaved her hair off.

any significance? i'll post her natal chart once i find it.

i cut off most of my hair with an electric razor...on more than one occasion. there are hundreds of websites devoted to the positive experience that this can be.

i love the feeling of freedom this gives. perhaps she just wanted a change?

i thought she had it done in a salon...better if she did it herself...more empowering that way.

i actually felt very feminine with my hair shorn this way. my features were more prominent, i felt more confident, more myself....prettier.

it's also way to signify a new beginning.

Yeah, I read about that this morning and was like..wtf?

The salon didn't want to do it because the they were afraid of getting sued. So she did it herself.

im glad its showing a new beginning. i think the poor girl has had enough, with the divorce and having two kids PLUS the media attention that constantly surrounds her.

may she find her way soon <3

THIS shows her need for help.

By SHEILA MARIKAR

Feb. 18, 2007 — - The latest buzz on Britney Spears has a lot of people shaking their heads.

It wasn't long ago that no one thought or cared about what went on inside the mind of the pretty, perky pop star. Now, after she shaved her head in a bizarre episode that culminates a months-long saga of controversial behavior, it's the question being asked by her fans, her foes and the general public: What was she thinking?

While psychologists and those around Spears speculate about the cause of her downward spiral, two things seems clear: The one-time pop princess is acting out and in dire need of help.

On Friday evening, Spears walked into Esther's Hair Salon in Tarzana, Calif., reportedly complained that her hair extensions were too tight, and asked owner Esther Tognozzi to shave her head.

"She sat in my chair and said, 'I want my hair shaved off.' I said well I'm not doing it," Tognozzi told the syndicated entertainment news show "Extra." "Of course I tried to talk her out of it.

"While I was talking to her body guard," Tognozzi added, "she grabbed the buzzer and started buzzing her own hair off. … She buzzed off all her own hair and I just cleaned it up when she was done with it."

The salon plans to sell Spears' hair on eBay and donate part of the proceeds to charity. According to Tognozzi, Spears showed little emotion as she chopped off her brunette locks, except for tears in her eyes and voicing fear for her mother's reaction when she looked at her newly shorn head in the mirror.

"The only emotions that she showed was when she said her mom was going to be mad that she was doing this to her hair and she got a little bit teary eyed," she said. "Then she all of a sudden realized what she did."

After leaving the salon, Spears headed to the Body & Soul tattoo parlor in nearby Sherman Oaks, Calif. According to Us Weekly, she got two tattoos there, one on her hip and one on her wrist.

When a Body & Soul employee looked at the pop star in disbelief and asked why she shaved her head, Spears said, "I don't want anyone touching me. I'm tired of everybody touching me," Us Weekly reports.

Acting Out for a Fresh Start?

Like a three-year old throwing a tantrum, Spears is acting out, said psychoanalyst Bethany Marshall.

According to Marshall, by shaving her head and tattooing her body, Spears is rebelling against her the people who handled and molded her, just as she was in November when she repeatedly flashed her private parts to the paparazzi.

"This is a major form of acting out," she said. "She's not using words and language as a way to express what's going on. She's doing things -- the crotch shots, shaving her head, the tattoos. It says that she hasn't learned to assert herself and become independent through self assertion rather than through acting out.

"The hair represents the stylists, the handlers, people who are in control of her life and manage her looks," Marshall added. "Now she's saying, I'm in charge of my looks."

By going bald, Spears may be seeking a rebirth.

"I think the shaving of her hair is a fresh start, is a new beginning, taking matters into her own hands, doing it her own way," Marshall said. "I think most importantly, in her own maybe distorted way, it's getting rid of the superficial and getting down to something deeper."

According to the entertainment news show "Access Hollywood," on Friday, a representative from Spears' record label admitted rumors that the pop star checked into a rehab facility last week but left quickly were true.

ABC News has not confirmed reports of the alleged rehab visit, but if they're true, Marshall said that Spears' head shaving and tattooing could be her way of rebelling against rehab.

"Like her hair, which represents other people telling her what to do, rehab is experienced by her as one more act of rote conformity. So she rebelled by walking out, shaving her hair, getting the tattoos," she said.

Step Away From the Spotlight

Marshall's prescription for Britney is simple: therapy and time away from Hollywood.

"I think psychotherapy would be the best thing for her," she said. "Seek therapy, have her own autonomous life … step out of the limelight for a while."

Salon owner Tognozzi hopes Spears' mom, Lynne, will step in and take charge of her daughter and her young sons.

"I would say, 'Please take your daughter and get her off the media circus, and just take her home for a while, and take care of her and her babies,'" Tognozzi told "Extra."

In fact, Lynne may be coming to her daughter's rescue. Perezhilton.com reports that Spears' mom was spotted on a flight from her Louisiana home to Los Angeles on Saturday and gave the paparazzi a "thumbs-up" signal.

Even if she does get help, Spears' head-shaving is likely to haunt her long after her locks grow back. Marshall believes that if going bald can help Spears discover her true self, then picking up the buzzer may have been a good move.

"If the cutting off of the hair is getting rid of the superficial, getting down to something more meaningful, then I think everybody should back off and let her get down to something deeper," she said.

Whatever her reasons for shaving it all off, I hope it leads to a more positive future for her and her children.

I almost did it when I got over depression... sorta like a new start, but then my school started and I got too busy. But I think I will shave my head too sometime down the road.

Hi all! I'll cut to the chase. I shaved my head in August 2001, age 17! It was a dare!!! I was at a party, the night before setting off for a weekend long rock festival. When I agreed to the dare, I started off, by cutting off my (very long) ponytail and then my friends went at me with the clippers!!! They all kept a lock of my hair as a keepsake....

I loved it at first! Luckily for me, I had a nice round head!!! (no lumps and bumps, lol!) It also made my features jump out of my face and look quite striking! I thought I looked really punk!!! After about a week though, as it was starting to grow back, I started to feel quite self concious and hastily invested in a couple of wigs, lol!!!

It was a very liberating experience though, despite being a part of my hedonistic youth! My now long hair, is most probably much healthier than it would have been with all the dye jobs I had inflicted upon it! (aqua moon, leo rising might explain that!)

Funnily enough, the only other female I knew of with the guts (or insanity) to shave off her hair, was infact *drum roll* a sag sun/aqua moon!!!

kaira,

Britney's birth info:
December 2, 1981
1:30 AM
Mahon, Mississippi USA
From Astrodatabank: http://www.astrodatabank.com/NM/SpearsBritney.htm

Looking at her chart, she currently has transiting (planets in the sky) Pluto (transformation) conjuncting (energy is combined with) her Nadir (inner world), indicating some deep transformations are going on in her inner world. This causes an inner "death and rebirth" experience...and it looks like her hair has been the first casualty!

Hair today gone tomorrow,

Tim

Thank you for data! However I think Britney is late Virgo Rising, the time is round-uped.
She was such a nice girl with great songs. I am really sorry fo her.

Jan,

What time do you have for Britney's birth and where did you get it?

Curious,

Tim

It wasn't for no apparent reason, she did it herself cos the hairdresser wouldn't.

And its probably about getting control of her own life instead of everyone else controlling her.

She just needs to get to 'know' herself and probably a good place to start.

Self Sabotage is what I call it. Maybe she doesn't feel worthy of all the fame and wealth she has accumulated. Everything we do boils down to our own feelings of worthiness or not being worthy.

Hi Tim!
I haven't any data, but the time looks sooo suspicious. And from my personal experience, birth times are very often round-uped 10-15 minutes too late.

Have some friends on staff at Cedars-Sinai Medical Center and the word is shortly after doing that (shaving her head) she went to the emergency room and at the insistence of a friend. her friend claimed Brit had recently been sexually assualted. Britney, though mostly compliant refused to talk about it either way. she would not answer questions regarding assault though her friend sat there and tried to encourage her to tell the Doctor what had happened to her. Finally the doc got frustrated and told her to leave if she was not going to tell him what happened.
She left.

Very sad. It would make sense that she wanted to strip away part of her feminine
appeal. Also at the tattoo studio she said she was tired of everyone touching her.

I don't know if I believe a doctor would tell her to leave if she wasn't going to tell him anything. Sexual assault victims are handled with kid gloves by trained professionals (and rightly so). He should have his license revoked if that is even remotely true.

I wanna feel sorry for her, but I just can't. She's had every advantage in life... she's young, rich, successful, beautiful when she showers and brushes her hair... everything that has happened to her is a consequence of her own blatant recklessness.

I have heard someone on a gossip site express concern that her behaviour is characteristic of someone with bipolar disorder having a major breakdown... if that's the case, this story is truly heartbreaking.

Either way, this girl NEEDS HELP.

She's gonna lose her kids to K-Fed with a certainty if this keeps up.

Anyone look at her transits and progressions to see anything interesting going on?

What I find particularly hilarious is the fact that people find this incident upsetting. Since when is shaving your head a sign of a 'major breakdown' or 'depression'? As a Sag, sometimes you just need to do something to refresh yourself. We thrive on change. I think it's an amazing thing for her to have done, and it will only benefit her in the long run.

I think she was just tired of the same old crap and wanted a change. And since she's a pop star, the most effective way to get people to see you differently is to change your look.

Society loves to analyze the actions of celebrities to the very last breath. Then we get the 'experts' on tv to tell us she is suffering from bi-polar syndrome, depression, drug use, etc. We're obsessed with giving meaning to things without any solid basis. The only fact is that she decided to shave her head. Whoop-dee-do.

It's just hair anyway, for pete's sake. It'll grow back. This doesn't make her mentally unstable or in need of some sort of major intervention. I don't feel sorry for her at all, I admire her for doing it.

I can't believe this story was on Larry King last night. What a waste of time CNN is.
