I have a friend who swears that every astrology reading he's been given (either by computer, or in person) has been completely wrong. I admit, when I look at his chart, it doesn't really seem like him. He has had a tough life so I wonder if that has changed his personality.

Since you all don't know him, what do you think he'd be like from his chart?

He has some challenges which stem from his home life because of the square and oppositions to the planets placed there. Mercury Conjunct Pluto in Scorpio so he has a very intense deep and even secretive mind. This placement can cause mental paranoia and obsessive thinking. Could possibly play mind games, and have mental conceit, but this depends on the soul with these placements and how he is expressing the energy. Could think obsessively about relationships or romance, affairs of the heart are very intense, the intense focus could be put into his hobbies or any other 5th house matter. Could have a lot of buried anger inside and the actions of others within his private life have overwhelmed him in some way. Mars in the 4th can mean domestic strife. Could also expect too much of himself or of others. Could also dote upon others too much or expect others to dote upon him.

Also what are the placements astrologically which do not match up to his personality. We all have conflicting personalities, your friend has a sensitive water Ascendant his Sun/Moon in Libra which can either make him too compromising or deliberately uncooperative as an over reaction to his natural basic agreeability.(ha ha sounds like him disagreeing with every astrological report he reads.)

He will probably disagree with all this, so there is no point trying to convince a non -believer. He doesn't have to be convinced he can have his own beliefs. I have been learning Astrology for about 9 months now, but I have never given a reading to my partner although I do study his chart, and can see a lot of what has happened in his life. But I don't push the subject on him. If you don't believe in Astrology and are getting nothing from readings or computer astrology programs then I personally would not pursue Astrology any further.

Tell him, the financial crisis will end in September, and he should concetrate on his job and health at the moment.

Try him with vedic astrology, most people i know think it is more correct, i guess. Really, though if he thinks it does pertain to him why push the issue. I have a friend who says the same thing, but the thing is the guy doesn't know himself or know why he does things. He constantly comes to me for answers like i would know. So the point is, not to say your friend is like this but some people dissociate with themselves and their desires, and if he had a rough life he may mask some things from himself and others.

The ruler of his Ascendant, Moon is in opposition with Jupiter - I think it is why he doesn't believe in astrology. He has an inner battle between his soul and mind - it is hard for him to have a harmony.

Thanks for the replies. He actually said that one time he looked at an Astro.com reading and thought it was very accurate...until he realized he'd left the birthdate as January 1st instead of putting it to his own! And once he fixed the birthdate, it no longer matched him.

The main thing is that he's NOTHING like a Libra, despite having his sun and moon there. He is very introverted, doesn't like to socialize much... he likes arguing... is very sentimental and sensitive. He seems a lot like a Cancer to me- maybe because of his ascendant? But that is really the only placement that matches him at all.

He's not exactly closed-minded about astrology. But he says that a lot of the stuff astrology says can apply to pretty much anyone (and sometimes I agree... for instance, your post Shining Ray does sound like him, but it sounds even more like me, and I don't share any of his placements!)

Any more thoughts on what you'd expect him to be like, based on that chart?

Thanks everyone..

jujube,

Since his planets are focused on the bottom right of his chart, he uses what he knows about his inner world to develop relationships with others. He has a strong focus on his home (4th house), self-expression (5th house), and routines (6th house). With Jupiter (expansion, also knowledge) focused in the 10th house (duty), he feels a need to learn about what he is SUPPOSED to do in life. Since his South node (the past) is conjunct (energy is combined with nadir (inner world), staying home holds him back in life. Since his North node (future goals) is conjunct Midheaven (outer world), he needs to get out into the world. Since least aspected (strong energy) Mars (being, also anger) is focused in the 4th house (home, also emotions), he can become emotionally angry very easily.

Thinking,

Tim

P.S. If he wants a quick lesson in basic astrology, he can see the link below.

I am libran, and this sounds like me, haha!
Maybe the sextile of saturn to his moon might have made him more withdrawn emotionally.

1) Agree with William, we cannot convince those who choose to disbelieve.

2) His data may be wrong.

3) If his data is right, then this boy has Asteroid PINOCCHIO (12927)exactly conjunct Mercury and sextile NESSUS (representing psychological abuse) and Asteroid LIE (26955)sextile Saturn.
Additionally Pholus quincunx Sun precisely and Chiron trine Sun precisely.
Also, Pholus opp asteroid SWINDLE and Jupiter quincunx Asteroid SWINDLE exact.

This boy could be lying and deceiving himself due to the deep wounds of life so that he can have atleast the security of living in denial.

Sun conjunct Moon also makes people very Cancerian.

He looks very sensitive.

Handsome (Venus trine Ascendant, Libra emphasis).
A healer (Sun trine Chiron, ruler of 6th in the 10th).

I see a possible inferiority complex
(Cancer and 6th house emphasis),
and a possible superiority complex
(sun/moon op jupiter).

Health concerns
(loaded sixth house,
ruler of 6th op sun/moon).

Probably has a talent for writing (merc/venus in 5th),
and/or seducing women (pluto/merc/venus in 5th).

May be a drug addict,
and one of the parents was probably alcoholic
(Mars square Neptune in 6th).
