I have a capricorn profesor teaching in one of my clases and he's such an ******* to everyone.

He told one student "go online and take some elses course".

I looked deepper into his past and found that things never went well for him in his life....

Now he's teaching because nothing else worked for him.....

I ask the question are all capircorns like this if thing don't work for them are they mean to everyone around them, even those you didnt do anything to them???

**sigh**

What would you think if I replied "Yes, 1/24th of the inhabitants of the world are exactly like him because they are Capricorn men"??

Have you seen the comment (many times) here, that people are more than their Sun sign, and much much more than their charts??

Perhaps you just needed to vent.....

Exactly.

I mean people end up having just ONE bad experience with a person in an astro sign and boom! All of them end up in the same "Boogy man" category.

Its one of the things that I don't personally take astrology seriously for.

I aspire to it!

Actually, I don't think my personal optimism knows any bounds.

I'd have to say that it isn't just Cappy men, it can be anyone. I think in academics there are quite of a few of these types of people regardless of sign, miserable professors who will take it out on their students that they have failed to become something else. And I know all Cappys don't get that way if things don't work out in their favor just because I had a Cappy friend who works in a crappy data entry/customer service job but he's such a happy guy.

I just think you're in an atmosphere that breeds anger outward towards someone else, as there's always students around, and if the prof looks at them and remembers how they felt like they were on top of the world, they could attempt to destroy that for the student (I'm dealing with a few profs like this right now and it sucks).

Usually what I have seen personally anyway is that Profs. who still continue to have a day time Job and teach part time during their careers end up being the most pleasent beings to have around.

My Management Prof. for instance is a guy's guy Lol! Totally open in his views and knows what a Uni student's life is all about. Thus he is more practical rather than theoretical.

I agree people are more then just there sun sign...

However people with a similar sun sign.. whould have some simmilar traits, right??

sorta like

A car base model, lets use a Honda Civic as the "base" or sun sign.

then other feature added onto the "Car"are other aspects, in a persons chart.

So a supercharged V6 engine, Honda civic whould be a person with the same sun sign but with aries aspects...

get what i mean???

A freind of mind has a brother.. thats also capircon sun who has also had his share of hardships and is equaly and ******* to everyone.

They have diffrent charts, but they both share the same sun sign.

So there is some kind of trend then.

Its true that Caps aren't as overly in your face peachy types but they are by far one of the most self-disaplined signs out there (next to Scorpio offcourse.)

So its kinda unsual to see your Prof. behave in such an unprofessional manner.

virgotaurustaurus- I don't think i'm in the top of the world.

What i do think is its not fair for someone like him to "kill people's dreams" and aspirations.

To him he "breathes" how the world sucks and everything sucks.

As I said I agree there is more to ones sun sign...

I belive he has some Pisces.. in him he's creative minded.

But he's always had a hard time selling his ideas.

Or nobody likes them.

Thirdbenjamin, with the top of the world, I meant that professors who are that miserable about how they've 'failed' probably were those students who did feel on top of the world, so they will probably remember that about themselves and think all students are like that.

I didn't mean you I agree it is totally not fair for someone like him to kill peoples aspirations. I literally have had 2 professors tell me to limit myself recently as I probably won't find a job better than wasting away in a lab.

Something tells me that your professor is in some situation that makes him feel as if he's imprisoned.

If you want to break through with him, just play to what he thinks is his expertise. If he's "killing people's dreams" in typical Capricorn fashion, then what he's trying to do is express his practicality. Ask him what he'd suggest if people do want to pursue that kind of dream. I understand that he could be a total @ss and naysayer, but if he's not then you'll have stroked his ego enough for him to soften his dream-killing ways for a moment while he tries to be useful. Cardinal signs thrive on being useful.

AcousticGod- I can't fully can't accept his ego.

But your right on what you said about capircorns killing dreams

he was telling us how, his daugther was thinking of becoming an Tradional animator..but he told her.. "Your Not What The Industry Wants"... and his daughter was hurt...

Saying that to your own daughter, wow...

Somethings he is just wrong on......and for that reason i can't accept this ego.

For example we recently formed groups for a semister long project and he said " I sugest you stick to your freinds "

rather then forming with other students in the class..which isn't true... In the real world you'll get teamed up with people that at work who aren't your freinds.

Its things like that, that drive me nuts about this man.

He also use to teach other courses in this program, but he got replaced.

But what you said AcousticGod makes sense

he's been replaced so many times and from so many courses and programs,

he use to teach full time then he went to adminstration duties.. then back to full time teaching in a diffrent program....then went to this program.. then he got replaced, for the exception of two courses.

Thethirdbenjamin,

I understand how you were trying to use the car analogy for natal charts ... but I don't think it truly applies as cars don't have emotions, or life experiences, or free will, and all of those have to be taken into account for people. Also, two people with the same sun sign do not really constitute a trend ... merely a coincidence.

It's possible that you are very, very frustrated right now, and you are attempting to pinpoint a factor that would explain why this professor behaves horribly towards you. Unfortunately, you could calculate his entire natal chart and still not know.

From your posts, it seems this guy is desperately unhappy and unable to be the professor and supporter that you, as his student, need. Do you have to take any more classes with this professor? Are you making a passing grade? He may be excruciating to listen to, but hopefully you don't have many weeks left.

I'm above passing grade... i've had him in the past for two previous courses.. both with good marks, butI wasn't happy with my learning experience with him.

I am frustrated and I just don't see why a guy like him should be teaching...

He's not passionate about his job nor does he like helping people... i'm not the only one to have problems with this man...

Other instructors and students haven't said vary good things about him.. but for some reason he's still teaching.....

I was just thinking of things that might help in dealing with this professor, only because I'm dealing with one too and he just upsets me so much sometimes.

It sounds like with his having moved around so much, it IS possible that people who have had his class before have complained about him and he was moved or not allowed to teach certain classes. I've seen this happen first hand, to the point where one professor was fired because of how poorly students claimed he was performing. So maybe knowing that you aren't alone in the suffering with this one professor, despite that others may be very quiet about their disdain?

I'm also dealing with a dream killer myself. Do you have other professors that might be uplifting or give good advice? If so I would say make a special meeting to talk to them about your potential career or just about whatever (some professors LOVE just chatting believe it or not). It's totally not weird to do that and I'm about to make 2 of those meetings this coming week. A good professor can make a handful of crappy ones seem like ants but you have to be open to them too.

And his comment to his daughter...I'd say not to talk to him, he might cut you down as well.

Also just to let you know, it's possible to deal with someone that sucky for only a few more months. Last semester I had a Russian professor who spoke HORRIBLE English, he could not teach at all (he taught off the CD that came with our Chem books), he refused to ever listen, explain anything, or answer questions. He refused to help us with homework or in lab. If you did ask him a question, he'd glare at you and tell you to read the CD. Absolutely horrid. Most days I wanted to rip his face off. Yet, 4 months later, I got an A, and I made it! And he wound up demoted to the chem for dummies class ahahahha.

I also forgot to mention, his job, despite that he sucks ass, might be really protected due to tenure. The school might be afraid if they fire him, he'll retailiate in some way. Or they might just be going the easy route, and not firing a professor and risking students who need certain classes to not be able to take them if they can't find another professor to fill his spot.

Also, what I did, was meet with my dean which can be confidential. I told the dean the problems I was having in class and the problems the class in general was having, and he met with the professor and had a talk with him and things did improve. And it is against the law for a professor to retaliate on you grade-wise if you do this.

If you feel comfortable and if you believe that the effort would be worth it, you might make an appointment with him. If he saw that you were making an effort, then he might view you differently.

Don't provoke my fellow Cappies
Well, I can say that I like Cappy was most hurt in my life by another Cappy...but I forgive, because I know what "demons" and experience that person held inside.

Jan_A,

Zala isn't hurt. The *sigh* was simply exasperation at the amount of times she's had to repeat herself on this point. She doesn't agree with lumping all people of the same Sun sign together. That's all.

ThethirdBenjamin has recognized this trait in more than one Capricorn, though, so that's what he tributed it to. I would think that anger issues would more likely link to the ascendant, the Mars placement, or general stressful factors in a chart. Admittedly, we Caps can be moody b*stards , though. That's what we get being on the Cancer/Capricorn axis.

Nicely put, AG, I wanted to explain the sigh also, but couldn't do it without coming across as rude.
I am currently projecting my stress onto my statistics prof and if I knew his sign I would probably say, well THAT'S WHY he is this way and that and so annoying etc, but really it's just because my teachers can take a break due to weather (astrological and physical) but if I want to keep my chances up for scholarships I have to keep on even when I'd rather rest.
Here's a *sigh* to signal myself to get to bed. I'd probably be in better spirits if I wasn't so tired from staying up so late...
Teachers are Strange, when you are cranky... teachers look ugly when you are slow... teachers seem wicked when your statistics... is due at midnight and you're NOT IN THE MOOD!!!
