Hello, everyone! I'm new to this forum, having joined only a few minutes ago. I'm 25 and trying to find my way in the world. Before 2007,I just knew sun sign astrology and derived much pleasure to be a Virgo. Until a few days ago, when I drew up my natal chart. It took while for the fact that I'm much more than a sun sign Virgo.Among the many questions I harbor is which sign is more dominant in my chart: Virgo or Libra? Although I don't "vibe" well with most descriptions of the sign Virgo, I am intellectual, modest, and am often critical with myself and others. I have a fair share many Libran characteristics as well. @_@ Here is my chart: I've also noticed my balance of elements are unequal as well. Does that signify anything wrong with me? :/ What can be done about my dearth of Earth and Water? Can anyone tell me anything interesting or that pops out in my chart as well? IP: Logged |

I REALLY wish I can change the title of this thread...I had a more interesting one in mind but put the Newbie one for the time being because I couldn't recall what I thought of at the time. IP: Logged |

Hiya and welcome from a fellow newbie!Your chart looks a lot like the chart of one of my friends. She's a Virgo Sun and Libra ascendent. As far as what's interesting in your chart ... Jupiter conjunct your ascendent and Venus in the first house are both stellar combinations - auspicious placements, "lucky." And, you also have Saturn at the end of the 12th (and conjunct the ascendent), so it would be interpreted as being in your 1st house. That's actually a nice placement because having Saturn there will "ground" the other planets, giving you the opportunity to be responsible and maybe even adding some drive. IP: Logged |

I just wanted to say I like your chart, if you were to flip yours around your planets would be in similar placements to my chart house-wise, and I also am a Virgo Sun with a bunch of planets in Libra. IP: Logged |

Hi SolarVirgo! It takes time to figure it all out, but it's a nice journey Lots of Air means lots of thinking... and with Virgo in charge it's an in-depth, astute, discriminating, and observant kind of thinking. When I first started, I read a great book that described each planet as a character (sort of like your very own split personalities) with each sign as the job that character was doing and each house as the environment or "world" that the character is doing the job in. So, for example, the Sun is the King or Head of your Corporation or the Father character (the main masculine energy in your Being) and in The World That Is You he has chosen the job of the Healer/Doctor (think of all of the characteristics ascribed to Virgo that you have read). Your main man the Doc is meant to work in the Piscean World (since the Sun is in the 12th House and the 12th House represents the 12th sign). So in a simple sense (which is often the best kind), you are meant to be a Healer in the world of Visionaries and Dreamers. Hey! Thanks for coming by!! But you have many other "employees" or aspects of yourself to work with... like your Moon, which is the Queen/Mother/Femine Aspect of yourself. This is the receptive and emotional side of you, and she is the "Mad Scientist/Genius" (Aquarius) with the out-there ideas, always ahead of her time (and everyone else's...) and she works in the World of Romance, with Children, and with Self-Expression (5th House is related to Leo). So, since the Moon doesn't reveal herself as openly as the Sun, people who know you best (or who engage your emotions) might view you as the wacky-eclectic-independent genius type. Well, that's a lot for my study-tired brain, but I hope that gives you something to work with, and I know you will receive other perspectives and views that will add more dimensions and depth to your education as you spend more time here. Your topic title is just fine! Welcome! IP: Logged |

BlackRabbit,I'll grant you the Sun as an Earth singleton, and Uranus as a Water singleton. The Moon is in Aquarius, and is neither the only Air sign, nor the only Fixed planet. Therefore, it couldn't be considered a singleton. IP: Logged |

yep totally true the moon isn't a singleton by air or nor is it the only fixed planet.but having one planet on one side of a chart is a singleton. Technically the moon is a singleton by the social houses, houses 5-8 you can look it on the web if you don't believe me even more interesting her moon singleton and uranus singleton are squaring each other ------------------ Gemini sun Scorpio moon Taurus ascendant IP: Logged |

Yeah, I don't believe you, BR. Singletons are determined by element, quality, or house type. That's it. There are other Air signs, there are other Fixed signs, and there are other occupied Fixed houses, so it's not a singleton.IP: Logged |

lol I was unaware I had a reputation as a liar on this forum lol did you even happen to look it up on the web lol you give the impression you think you know every thing there is to know about astrology.you might want to read this http://www.astrologyclub.org/articles/singletons/intro/singleton_intro.htm quote: SINGLETON A planet standing alone in a quadrant or hemisphere of the horoscope.
http://en.mimi.hu/astrology/singleton.html you really didn't look it up did you, that link to the definition of a singleton was on the VERY first page of Google. you can't miss it. lol ------------------ Gemini sun Scorpio moon Taurus ascendant IP: Logged |

Sorry for sounding like a know-it-all. No, it's not the first time I've given that impression, though perhaps it is where astrology is concerned.I did look it up, but just briefly. quote: If a planet happens to be the only one in an element, quality, or house type, that planet is a Singleton and it can funnel all of the “energy” of the horoscope. http://www.bobmarksastrologer.com/13.0Singletons.htm
He does compare it to the energy of one planet that occupies a section of the chart by itself, but didn't seem to be saying that a planet alone in a quadrant would be a singleton. Other sites confirm what you said, though, so I have a singleton I was never aware of: Saturn in Gemini in the 1st. Figures, huh? My other singleton is my only fixed sign as well as my only water sign: Mars in Scorpio. IP: Logged |

Thanks for all the welcomes, everyone! You make me feel well-loved. I love this community already!Hey Nefermi! I love your name, it sounds so Egyptian. Yay for us 5th house Mooners! Your best friend reminds me a lot of me. I have taken one of those "How (insert sign here) are you?" quizzes and scored higher on the one for Libra than the one for Virgo. She and I wouldn't happen to have the same birthday, would we? lol I am grateful for Saturn's position in my chart, as I learn more and more about astrology. I don't know where'd I be without it because I probably would float away! jk but can be so "out of touch" with reality sometimes. But when push comes to shove, if I am motivated sufficiently, nothing can stop me! IP: Logged |

(I meant to combine my posts into a big one...but I don't think the forum likes uber long posts... which I am prone to do)AcousticGod and BlackRabbit, I apologize on behalf of my Aquarius Moon/possible singleton for any and all trouble it might have caused. Your posts were really informative though for an amateur like myself. Who knew that my Sun, Moon, and Uranus were singletons? virgotaurustaurus-Awww thank you. There are sometimes when I wish I had more Taurus in my chart (I don't know why but I am attracted to Taurus) and I wish I had your chart just by looking at your big three (Sun, Moon, Ascendant). Want to trade charts for a day? Oh, almost forgot to say: Power to us Virgo-Libras! IP: Logged |

MysticMelody: That's such a beautiful perspective on the chart. I especially loved your take on my Sun and Moon. And you're right about the thinking part...never does a day go by when my mind isn't buzzing with one thing or another. I find solace in writing, studying, and just learning in general. And thank you for reassuring me of my title. That must have been my fussy, particular Virgo nature speaking. I hope I can learn more about astrology in this forum, as there's so much to learn!star33: It's nice to meet you too! IP: Logged |

I'm glad you liked it! Hmm, I thought you might have had to break up your post because it had too many smilies, but it looks like you only had 8 total. I think it allows 8 total or 7 smilies and one signature. If you take it to the limit with the smilies it takes a lot longer for your message to post though, so maybe that is where you noticed the problem. ------------------ "Did you ever get the chance to dance along the light of day?" Virgo,You asked: quote: ...which sign is more dominant in my chart: Virgo or Libra?
Since you have more planets in Libra than in any other sign, you tend to be more Libricious like than Virgonian. Libriciously, Tim IP: Logged |

MysticMelody- I just adore that analogy of the planets in signs! It;s defintitely helped me to wrap my mind around how planets in houses can behave. Do you remember the name of the book so I can purchase it? It sound like it's worth a read. Oh, and yes, when I had my all-clumped-up posts, it took a really long time to load, and when it finally did, nothing came of it except a blank white page.Hey, Passionate Pisces! I can't wait to start getting acquainted with you as well. wilsontc-Thank you so much for clarifying that question for me. Ever since I seriously started to study astrology (not too long ago), that question has been on my mind for some time. I'm loving the word "Libraciously! as well" IP: Logged |

SolarV, I wish I could remember, but it was like 15 years ago... I honestly have no idea. I might have it referenced in an old journal so if it turns up sometime I'll tell you. I think I checked it out through the library though, so you never know what you can find! IP: Logged |
