My friend's bf teaches bio in a high-need urban high school. Dude's a muhf&&kin math genius. He's big on practical application, more function-oriented than ummm, sympathetic and compassionate, so to speak, and is extremely strategic in approaching the kids. I can't even explain it, but his methods are very effective and the school wants to keep him around...

sure, do you have a email address I can reach you? you can edit it out later.

the 1st chart screams teacher, especially sun/jupiter conj. jupiter in the 1st. THE rising sign ruler is saturn, which is in sagittarius/10th house. Sagittarius is the natural teacher, 10th house associated with career. then theres the sagittarius mars, saturn, and uranus. i bet you'll be a very good teacher, students wont forget you! what kind of teacher do you want to be? art? history?

the 2nd chart has sagittarius in the 6th house(work/job/health). leos are good teachers in general.

interesting charts.

Yes I am a teacher. I'm a natural teacher, although as a job, I hate doing it, because of all politics with the school district. I don't have much deesire ot make a long-term career out of teaching in schools - I hope eventually I can get into something else.

I have several indicators of teaching ability in my chart, but I can't recall them all. You can look at my chart yourself if you still have my info. But the ones I remember:

Mercury conjunct MC/in the 10th - I have the ability to communicate effectively, and to effectively convey and transmit ideas and information. 10th house influence is "parental," giving my Mercury more authority.

Jupiter and Neptune in the 3rd - Jupiter in 3rd is optimistic, meaning as a teacher I'm very positive about the learning experience and I am very encouraging to my students. My way of communicating can be positive and stimulating. With Neptune in the 3rd, this indicates intuitive abilities and compassion in understanding my students needs and being able to be responsive and creative in meeting their needs. Normally Neptune in the 3rd is thought to endow the ability to work with disabled students or students with learning disabilites, and I have done a lot of work with those types of students.

Ceres in the 10th/conjunct Sun and Mercury - Conjunct Mercury, Ceres stresses intellectual development, and with the Sun there's focus of nuturing a sense of self and personal identity. These of the two main things I try to encourage in my students. Since Ceres is in the 10th, that need to nuture extends beyond the personal and social, to "everyone's children" in a sense.

Venus and Saturn in the 9th - Venus and Saturn in the 9th indicates how I seen education's "end." While the planets I have in the 3rd indicate the initial process of educating, like Jupiter's optimism and enthusiam and Neptune's intuiion and compassion, these 9th house placements show what I expect as the end result: through education, a student should be become a balanced and creative individual (Venusian qualities) possessing wisdom, discipline and self-possesion (Saturnine qualities).

There was some other things with asteriods but I don't recall what exactly right now.

I teach dance. 7&8 yr. olds... they are a blast!
I used to teach baton twirling. too.
I've always had eggs in several baskets.
No real passion.. just alot to do.
I've also done really well in direct sales

So, now there is just dance. Its always been there. Being able to focus on that one thing has made me a better teacher.. because it takes alot.
I just wish it paid the bills.
I've got soooooo much Neptune/Mars/ Saturn/MC square action right now that is just the start of what may be the worst transits all at once you've ever seen...
So on that note.. its no wonder I have no idea what I want to do....I'm on auto-pilot.

Virgo Sun, Merc, Venus, Ceres conjunct in the 7th
Leo Jupiter in the 7th
Uranus, Pluto in the 8th
Scorpio MC, Mars, Neptune conjunct
Aries Moon, NN Saturn 3rd
Capricorn ASC

my aspects:

Sun Trine Moon 5°54
Sun Conjunction Mercury 0°17
Sun Conjunction Venus 7°47
Moon Trine Mercury 6°11
Moon Trine Jupiter 6°05
Moon Quincunx Uranus 1°51
Moon Square Ascendant 0°54
Venus Quincunx Saturn 2°50
Mars Square Jupiter 0°42
Mars Sextile Uranus 3°32
Mars Conjunction Neptune 1°56
Mars Sextile Pluto 0°03
Jupiter Square Neptune 2°38
Uranus Sextile Neptune 1°36
Uranus Conjunction Pluto 3°35
Uranus Trine Ascendant 2°45
Neptune Sextile Pluto 1°58
Neptune Sextile Ascendant 4°21
Numbers indicate orb (deviation from the exact aspect angle).

eatbooks, my e's on my profile. quicksilver.alchemy@gmail.com

wow, i have so much to learn! i realized tht when i read your analysis of these charts.

basically i am trying to find common themes from charts of ppl like Einstein, Feynman, etc etc. I was expecting some uranus aspects to merc, as i've seen them touted as indicators of intelligence. but up to now i dont see it appear frequently. (i've looked at abt 6 charts till now). i do however see a very common merc-saturn theme.

GN - I didnt know you taught in a school. What do you teach and how long have u been teaching for?

Im teaching also...well supply teaching because I didnt enjoy working in just one school...I dont have much patience with teaching actually. Id rather be thinking making connections and inventing...now if only someone would give me the funds for my own labratory without having to go through all those years of working under someone else...sigh only in my dreams.

I may have to settle down soon though cuz funds dont grow this way. Im still thinking about other career/job options, and I have this march break to look and apply.

My chart ruler (Gemini Asc) Mercury is on the top of my chart conjunct MC in Capricorn. Mercury is conjunt Mars and Sun in Aquarius in the 10th. It is also conjunct Pallas Athena (known for its Wisdom i think) in Capricorn in the 9th house, and is opposite Jupiter in Leo which is conjunct my IC in Cancer.

I just realized my 9th house ruler Saturn(Capricorn) is in my 5th house of children, and Saturn is conjunct NN... Another indicator of teaching for a profession.

I was a piano teacher for several years.....Sagittarius sun, mars in the 9th....I'll probably be a teacher again later in life.

More importantly, my chart ruler, saturn is in the 9th house as well.....very teachy position, interesting to note that my saturn and mars in the 9th are both in libra, as a teacher I'm extremely fair, impartial, serene, it really brings out my best qualities.

Howeover I have a scorpio moon so in my personal life I'm not always the most fair, impartial, or serene,LOL. In the work place my scorpio moon just adds intensity and focus to my work.

DD - I've been teaching in the school district here for about 3 years now. I'm getting out soon - I quitting this present position (seeing it's a non-contract position) as soon as I find another job, and I'm moving to another city this summer.

Before I taught in the schools, I was a free-lance tutor for about 6 years. I like doing that much, much better, but it's to inconstant money-wise for me to support myself.

Hi!

I have been working as a Teacher's Assistant since October with pre-schoolers. I never had a real interest in working specifically with kids (although I'd working with special needs adults and children before), but a lot of my older friends are teachers and had suggested that I would like being one. It turns out that I really love the kids-they are so funny! But I don't think I would ever consider being a head teacher.

I once posted a question once here asking whether my chart would indicate working well in education.

Here are some of my aspects

Gem Rising, of course!
Sun Trine Moon 2°10
Sun Sextile Saturn 7°54
Moon Opposition Saturn 5°43
Mercury Sextile Mars 0°28
Mercury Conjunction Jupiter 2°10
Mercury Conjunction Neptune 1°06
Mercury Sextile Pluto 1°05
Mercury Opposition Ascendant 4°23
Venus Conjunction Uranus 3°35
Mars Sextile Jupiter 2°38
Mars Sextile Neptune 1°34
Mars Conjunction Pluto 0°37
Mars Trine Ascendant 4°51
Jupiter Conjunction Neptune 1°04
Jupiter Sextile Pluto 3°15
Jupiter Opposition Ascendant 2°13
Neptune Sextile Pluto 2°11
Neptune Opposition Ascendant 3°18
Pluto Trine Ascendant 5°29

Im hoping to go to UAE or some place where they pay you at least half decent and dont tax you to death.

Reread my other post and thought I made my friend sound like a cold-hearted bitz. He's actually very compassionate, but less on an intimate scale, and more on the community level, where he can relate to ppl on more of an equal, unbiased plane... does that make sense? Isn't that an Aquarian thing? He actually got very, very angry when one of his students got shot, and due to the nature of his work environment, he chooses to keep an emotional distance between himself and his students, do his job, and do it right... without the messiness that can come with emotional attachment. To me, sometimes it sounds a lot like being a cop (minus all the potential for corruption and umm, numerous other things). = \ Props to all teachers in here and everywhere! You have a hard job!

I trained to be a teacher, didn't end up doing it as a career but I did end up staying involved in higher education as a career (university tutoring, then developing distance learning resources, and now I'm an e-learning learning support/coach). I had to get out of school teaching because I needed more freedom in my life and in the way I work. Still love the idea of teaching though.

Sagittarius rising
Sun, Jupiter and Mercury in the 5th house (loved working with kids!)
Venus in Gemini in the 6th house

Hmm... I just noticed my 9th house cusp is Leo... and I have those 5th house placements including my Sun. So the ruler of my 9th is in my 5th. Interesting.

I was a teacher for two years.

As I understand from the posts here, Mercury, Jupiter and Saturn are to be looked at as well as 10th and 9th houses.

My Mercury is in the 11th hs and it also rules this house which I believe may be interpreted as communication with groups. Mercury sextiles Virgo Saturn conj North Node in the 1st hs. Saturn is the ruler of the 6th hs. The 9th hs ruler, Mars, is in the 10th hs of career. As for Jupiter & Saggitarius, no major teaching-related aspects.
