I have not studied the difference between the two ways of looking at the nodes. As for Chiron, here is an excerpt from my book "Principles of Astrology."
.....................
It is the opinion of this writer that Chiron has superseded Mercury as the ruler of Virgo. Mercury clearly rules the brain and perception, but its rulership of the hands is less clear. However, the very name, Chiron, suggests handling and hands-on. As ruler of Virgo, Chiron becomes the polarity point for Neptune, ruler of Pisces. If Neptune is the unconscious/ subconscious mind, Chiron is the conscious mind.

In a very real sense, Chiron is our personal data handler, capable of a wide range of file handling functions. When we expand our mental/perceptual connections to greater realities, Chiron becomes the modem through which Mercury can pull information from the impersonal areas of Neptune’s memory, as we do through our Internet connections.

Chiron is rational to the extreme, based entirely on logic. It can only contrast and compare what Mercury has given it. Like personal computers, which are its corollary symbols, Chiron demands that we follow specific routines and methods. Data entered incorrectly will not process, and may lock up the computer in frustration because it cannot do the work requested of it. When we do everything right--as instructed--and get the wrong results, we are being confronted with a Chiron issue.

Chiron rules coordination. When we have a conflict between our inner senses and our outer ones, we say that we have a coordination handicap: dyslexia. Even with normal coordination, periodically, we need to reorganize our thinking, reordering our filing system for the tasks ahead. Routinely, life demands that we check the rules, or the manual, or our own experiential memories.

Chiron cannot generate information; it can only process it. Utterly pragmatic, Chiron governs process and method, working rules, and/or scientific law. Chiron is concerned only with availability and accessibility of data and has no capacity to judge that data on moral grounds. Its only criteria are, "Does it make sense? Does it work--efficiently or at all?"

Chiron is probably the most practical and grounded of all the planets. Lack of grounding in reality ties Chiron’s hands. It cannot work with unproven abstractions, but will follow a line of reasoning from the physical to the metaphysical, if all the data are available and entered correctly.

It is Chiron’s capacity for following a line of reasoning to its farthest reaches that gave it rulership over the Holistic Health movement. Students should notice that in its development, this movement researched both backward and forward in time. Any search which is grounded in present reality has this capacity, and Chiron, in a natal horoscope, rules our potential for analyzing data in this way.

Most of Chiron’s gifts are based on statistical analysis, one function which modern computers do dramatically easier and more efficiently than unaided human thought can currently do. If performs as a file sorter first, and can evolve into a search engine.

hiron is, then, the great facilitator, searching out the easiest and most efficient methods for dealing with the consensus reality.

You can find what sign your True Node and Chiron are in at astro.com. After you register and enter you birth data, select "Extended Chart Selection." That report will tell you your True Node and Chiron signs. If you want, you can give me your birth data (will need date, time, and place) and I'll tell you what signs and houses they're in.

As far as what they mean...I hear Chiron most commonly referred to as the "wounded healer." My understanding of this is it's a place where you have experienced great pain and from that have gained strength and wisdom and are able to heal yourself and others in that area. True Node is sort of like your mission in life, challening lessons you must learn and new behaviors you must incorporate into your character. Achieving the goals your True Node represents will bring great personal growth.

That's a pretty simplistic explanation. I'm relatively new to this myself though so if I left out anything important or gave false information I hope someone will set the record straight.

Kermeez - You're so sweet. Posting your chart was no problem. I'd offer interpretations for you but I don't really have enough knowledge to do so. I freely admit my ignorance. I don't know if you already signed up with astro.com, but they offer tons of free reports there. I'm going to post here what they have to say about your chart.
Other great sites for information about aspects are cafeastrology.com and astrology-numerology.com.

Oh, and in the chart, by your name there's a venus glyph, signifying that I put you down as a female because that was my guess. Again, no offense if that should be a mars glyph.

Sun in Aries, Moon in Cancer
You were born with the Sun in Aries and the Moon in Cancer. This combination is most auspicious for achieving success.
You shine in social situations, where your ability to make friends is revealed. A gregarious person, you respond to others with a great deal of sensitivity.
When you do undertake a project, you will assume a position of leadership. You rather prefer tasks requiring a few broad sweeps and a minimum of close attention to detail.
The key to harmonious development of your personality lies in probing your inner being and uncovering the buried self.

Ascendant in Aries, Mars in the Tenth House
At the time of your birth the zodiacal sign of Aries was ascending in the horizon. Its ruler Mars is located in the tenth house.
Aries is the first sign of the zodiacal belt and its natives seem also desirous of being "first" in all activities with which they happen to be involved. The cardinality of the sign makes you extremely active and capable of displaying ambition, impulsiveness, courage, and boldness in order to satisfy your desire for prominence in the world.
The general course of your life will be filled with many 'ups' and 'downs' and changes conforming very much with the psychological nature of your temperament. Whether you triumph or not in life depends on your ability to develop your most positive inborn qualities and, simultaneously, exert some control over your less favorable characteristics, such as a lack of prudence, and a certain disregard for the feelings and opinions of others.
Aries gives a tendency for its natives to be inclined to politics and public work. You should be successful (or at least attempt to be so) in any work or activity that necessitates pioneering ideas and/or a militant disposition. You also appear to have an ardent attitude in any project that somehow or another involves new concepts or original work and in which you are given a position of leadership. One of your problems is that in your love for achievement in novel projects you tend to destroy old concepts and former contributions which would, perhaps, have been useful for your endeavors. Impulsive, critical, despising mean or dubious acts, you will create many excellent friendships but also important enemies. Your life is rich in passion and ardent love. In sexual matters you are quick, aggressive, and to the point. You also are a lover of pleasures, which you feel with a bright, open, and sparkling character.
Mars, located in this house, is a very important position whose exact meaning must come delineated further on in the section of that house, according to the various astrological aspects in which Mars may be involved. If you ever become connected to professional militarism or related activities, Mars here would give you success. Your desire for power and conquest, given by Aries, combined with the violently freeing tendencies of Mars could make you prone to exert your force and exhaust your energies by superhuman efforts towards that end.

Venus in the Second House
Venus is found in the second house at the time of your birth. Intrinsically, this is an ideal astrological position as it promises easy means of livelihood. Money will stream in regularly and readily without excessive effort or preoccupation.
Note: Venus is technically near the end of house 1 and is therefore interpreted in house 2.

Moon in the Third House
The Moon appears in the third house at the time of your birth. Your intellect is very sensitive to external events always changing and adjusting to the situation.
Memory is strong and of a pictorial nature. The mind, however, is liable to become too subjective and shallow with an overemphasis on superficial learning and with little practical use or lacking in intellectual sensibility. On the favorable side, there exists a vast reservoir of creativity which could be successfully applied to such pursuits as writing and poetry. Physically, the Moon will give you an intensely active life full of changes, mobility and fluctuations.
The demands of this position are simple: exert yourself in acquiring better control of your unstable and persistent imagination, increasing, thereby, powers of concentration and you will find delightful improvements not only at a mental level, but also in the ability to communicate with others more realistically.

Saturn in the Ninth House
Saturn was found in the ninth house at the time of birth. This indicates that your concern over the impermanence of all things will urge you to restrict your personality traits and assume a position of caution and planning before pursuing any important matter.
In a practical sense, your attitude to all higher intellectual functions is that of a studious, serious, and meditative person. You must, however, be attentive to the possible presence of several challenging elements in your intellectual make-up such as depression, fear, and severity.

Sun in the Twelfth House
The Sun was in your twelfth house at the time of birth. This may indicate a life full of limitations, obstacles, and human opposition, but at the same time a lot of inner strength and energy.
You are urged to pause and reflect upon your own accumulated history. Take some time for introspection. It may result in a purification process accompanied by some remorse of conscience.
Internally, you are quite different from the way you present yourself externally. You possess a vast reservoir of energy that may be partially hidden even from your own awareness.
Your internal disposition is strong, commanding, open, and of a rare generosity. More and more you should try to bring these characteristics into the open so that they can overcome some of the less desirable aspects of your personality.
