edit: I mean an unaspected Saturn scorpio in the 4th house, not a singleton, sorry. If it weren't for a generational scorpio pluto it would be a water singleton though.

what are the characteristics, positive, negative and neutral of this?

I think it is interesting

fan,

An unaspected planet indicates the energy does not "connect in" to the chart. So the person tends to OVERdo this energy. With Saturn (duty, also career) they could OVERdo their sense of responsibility or end up "married" to their career. Since Saturn is focused in the 4th house (home), they might OVERdo their need to be the authority at home and make a "career" of the work they do at home.

Dutifully,

Tim

Wilson:

But is there a possibility that their particular Sun/Moon combination may prevent them from getting too far down the road of career oriented outlook?

I have a Scorpio in my Satrun but my sun happens to be in Libra. Yes I'll admit, when I work, I work hard; To the point of ignoring everything else but work (had to end few relationships because of it) but once I have finished the task, I play equally hard Lol! (or else I would have been one lonely goof of a guy.)
