Well, uhm, Hi! I'm new to the forum here, just finding you on a whim. [I was reading Star Signs and wanted to read up on her a bit seeing as my friends and myself have a sneaking suspicion that she really isn't dead.] Buuut, that's not why I'm posting this here. You see. I've been wanting to look through my Natal Chart for some time now. A friend of mine wants to go to the lengths of getting a book, doing it himself and then checking it with a qualified astrologer. I'm all for his drive & enthusiasm, but I've always sought a faster way to go about it. So, seeing as many of you seem to be proficient in the creating/interpreting of the Natal Chart, I plucked up some courage and figured what's the harm in asking? I recently found [as in like 10 mintues ago] the site www.astro.com, which seems to give a pretty good view of a Natal Chart, the only problem is I have no idea what to make of all the options that they give you. I clicked some things in and it produced a chart, but I'm not really sure if it's right or even what to make of it. I was born on July 21, 1990 at 10:19 PM. Any help you can give me in this process is greatly appreciated! --Fly ------------------

Oh intersting website. The link on the home page of it tells you to just go to the ascentdent link at astro. I went to the extended one and while the both of them look pretty similar, the extended one has thicker lines and more degree marks. Is one of them more accurate than the other, or will the general kind still give me good results?IP: Logged |

Fly,Accuracy in a chart entirely depends on how accurate your birth information is. If you put in the correct birth information, any chart you create will be "accurate". The Ascendant link in astro.com creates a basic astrological chart and is a good place for beginners in astrology to start. Later, as you develop your astrological abilities, you might like to customize the chart with more advanced features. Charting, Tim IP: Logged |

Hey, I actually just started really looking into this [week's been a bit hectic] and writing all over my chart and whatnot. Man there needs to be more room on these things. That site that you gave me wilsontc really helped, especially the excel chart, which I wish they mentioned a tad earlier so I didn't have to go back through, but no biggie. Anyways, I've been having a hard time understanding the whole "transforms," "modifies," and "works well with" [etc.] parts. I read the scentence and it just doesn't make any sense in my head, especially when I have two signs in one house. Like, Pisces is in both my 1st and 12th house and the both of them have no planets present, what does that do to the sentence I am trying to create?? If anyone has a better explination for what I am trying to do here or just a push in the right direction with this interpretation it would be greatly appreciated! While we're on the subject, might as well post the chart ^_^ Thanks! Fly IP: Logged |

Fly,I'm glad the website helped. Yes, I realize sometimes people have to go back to reread things but I purposely designed it to force people to read it all the way through ONCE. After that, they can bookmark the pages they need to refer to. I talk about the "astro-sentence". And I really AM thinking about a sentence. So, in a typical sentence, we could have "The Sizzling Electricity is in the Outlet on the wall." (capitals added for emphasis). So Sizzling" modifies "Electricity" and the focus is in the "Outlet". It works the same way in the astro-sentence". Sign modifies Planet (the sign tells us something about the way the planet works) focused on House (the house tells us what life issues the energy of the sign focuses on). Let's use and "astro-sentence" style taken from your chart: Scorpio (transformation) modifies Pluto (transformation) focused in the 8th house (transformation). So we have Transformative Transformation (energy) is focused on Transformation. So already we can see there is a "whole lot of "transformation" going on". "Transformation" is about the whole life and death process so things associated with death and rebirth are also associated with Scorpio/Pluto/8th house: power, control, occult, for example. So there is a STRONG interest in power, control, occult, and life and death issues. You have no planet in the 1rst or 12th house, but you DO have your Ascendant there. So we can use a shortened form of the "astro-sentence" (leaving out the part about the "house"). Pisces (spirituality) modifies Ascendant (self). So you are a "spiritual" person. Spirituality is about the dissolving of the barriers between us and those around us. So spiritual energy is both connecting and confusing, since it makes it difficult to separate ourselves from those around us. I suggest writing out the astro-sentences for the planets FIRST, and then writing out the astro-sentences for Ascendant, Descendant, Midheaven, and Nadir. Only AFTER you have done all that can you look at aspects. Because aspects are simply ways to join two "astro-sentences" together. Let's take a look at another "astro-sentence" and then add in an aspect, to show how this works. Capricorn (duty) modifies Neptune (spirituality) focused in the 10th house (duty). So there is a STRONG "spiritual duty" here. Now let's join two "astro-sentences" with aspect information. Scorpio (transformation) modifies Pluto (transformation) focused in the 8th house (transformation) sextile (energy goes easily with) Capricorn (duty) modifies Neptune (spirituality) focused in the 10th house (duty). Now, to simplify things, let's take the "short form" we created for each of these "astro-sentences" and connect them with the aspect information There is a STRONG interest in power, control, occult, and life and death issues and this goes easily with (sextiles) an urge for a STRONG "spiritual duty". There is a blending of power and spirit. Let me know if you have any questions about this. Lol I mentioned that in another thread Stars! Thanks again for your help Tim. It's really late here so I'll take a crack at those sentences when I've had some rest. --Fly IP: Logged |
