You might be right. Had the same doubt a few months ago. But I think it's hard to tell. Hope someone answers this. Sorry I can't help you with it.. I just posted because I hate it when someone asks an interesting question and nobody answers.

I think some people use transits to the composite to explain the changes that the relationship undergoes, instead of the progresses composite.

I often want to comment on ignored threads but when I don't have any answers (which is 99% of the time here) I feel like my post would just translate as "drrrrr, good question, drrrr." LOL jane, can you believe I actually feel sad when I see an empty thread?? It's like the person would be lonely out there. It's stronger than me, even though I know it's not true just feel like telling the person: "hey I'm here and I care!". I gotta get rid of these delusions some day!

Hi there ^_^ I've read something similar some time ago about this.. It seems that the regular composite, just like the birth charts, tells us about the primary potentials.. In this case, the very primary nature of the relationship. But a progressed chart seems to tell something about the progression/development of these potentials.. It also seems to be more revealing in terms of fate/karmic stuffs.
For example, me and my bf's synastry isn't really great (few personal planets contacts), but in the progressed synastry (birth charts) and composite, it seemed to show some fate (for example, in the progressed synastry, my Venus is opposed to his Mars, and my Mars and his Venus are not exactly opposed, but they are in the opposed signs, and also opposed ascendants).

So in my opinion, I'd look at the progressed charts as signs of development of the regular charts, and also as signs that shows fate/destiny. ^_^

Yep. I've noticed this with two people. With a friend of mine, it started out flirty but in our progressed composite we now have a Star of David formation. A lot of ninth house stuff. And the friendship has indeed become a lot more related to spirituality.

With my bf, we started out as a grand air trine... lots of Gemini in particular. We were extremely flirtatious and based on fun... then the progressed composite broke apart and I couldn't see anything good in it at all really... this period was characterised by a lot of arguing and misunderstanding. But now, we are moving closer day by day to a progressed composite grand water trine formation (with, most importantly for me, a progressed composite Scorpio moon). Since this started getting closer, things seem to have been markedly improving (we're also having nice Venus and Chiron transits right now). The grand water trine configuration will be complete in September, and it'll stay that way for the next 10 years or so.

I went asking this issue in particular in the Astrodienst Forum and an astrologer told me this:

"the synastry shows the interaction between the two individual's characters. each planetary aspect between the charts shows points of contact, which can be easy or difficult depending on the planets involved and the aspect.

the composite shows the chart of the RELATIONSHIP which occurs when the two people are together. it shows the dynamics of the relationship and its difficulties and purpose.

one way in which to use the composite is to compare the composite chart to each of the person's individual natal charts and look for conjunctions or other tight aspects between them. this shows how the relationship affects that person."

Since you talked about it, what does it mean if in a specific month,the progressed composite shows Chiron trine mars,venus,quicunkx saturn and pluto? Are this good? We´ve been having troubles but i hope these are good aspects..?
