Hi all,

Possibly some of you know already, but for those who don't: I've just discovered that Astrodienst has its own astrology forum now! It seems that it's been online for a few weeks only, but has been very active from the start, lots of interesting stuff to discover! They even have separate sections for different languages.

P.S. Tim, nice to know there's a face to the name! (Was sort of an "accidental" discovery )

Thanks for letting me know about this forum. I haven't been to that site for a while. I didn't know a forum was started over there. I have had a look over there and I think it's going to take me a while to get through all those posts.

Tim, you can't see me, but I think I saw you!
(You've got mail, by the way )

Katipo, maybe you could try going to the Astrodienst homepage first and accessing the forum from there? (There's a link "Forum" at the top, where it says "Free Horoscopes", "Astro Shop", etc.)

Azalaksh (or Zala, I think ),

No there is no picture of Tim over at Astrodienst. I just realized that my above post was probably a bit misleading, part 1 (about the Astrodienst forum) and part 2 (concerning Tim) are in no way related.

Please understand that I can't shed any more light on this, the only one who has the right to do so is Tim if he chooses to do so. (Though I kind of doubt he will. )

Zala,

Newbie tracked me down! And in my other life! I am always interested in helping people develop their skills and become who they want to be. So I do some free astrology, because I think basic astrology is a gift to the world.

I also think the ability to communicate our thoughts, hopes, and dreams is very important and easily learned. So I have put together a few DVD systems to help us go from no ideas to a great speech, and to become masters of movement on the stage. Like my astrology, the steps to building speaking skills are clearly laid out and very easily grasped...and my picture and videos of me speaking are there! http://www.powervoices.com

I admit it.....I went over to Astrodienst to see if I could find the picture, lol Glad I wasn't the only one.

Tim- Nice to see the face of someone I think highly of. I appreciate all that you do for people. I may be purchasing a CD or two in the near future, I can see where they may be beneficial to me.

Looks like Tim's Mercury won out over his Pluto, after all...
Or...Pluto agreed on trading secrecy for power

My comments on the astro.com forum:

1. It is very enlightening as many of the members are quite experienced with astrology.

2. Moderators are very good in the sense that they quickly move the topics to the relevant location.

3. Many scientists, skeptical as well as supportive of astrology, share their views.

4. It is very dry. Rarely did I see the kind of heartfelt emotion that is common to LindaLand.

5. Response to a post is 50% less than LindaLand.

I posted a few messages but I find that it is better to just read that forum for knowledge than interact.

The forum is good as there is lots to read over there. I was put off after I received a personal message from a Moderator that was rude, and they complained about my avatar, but in a very uptight manner. I was only a new member and there are better ways of communicating. I don't know if I will bother with the forum now.

Shining Ray,

I assume that the moderators/administrators at Astrodienst (or at least some of them) are not native speakers of English, and it's not always easy to get the nuances right in a foreign language, even if one knows the grammar. Perhaps this is one of the reasons their message to you may have come across as "rude" or "uptight". Besides, Swiss and German people tend to not be as "friendly" as Americans, for instance, and may come across as a bit dry or moralistic at times, even when no harm may be intended (I ought to know - and I've certainly been guilty of it myself at times...).

If you don't mind telling me, I'm curious to know what the avatar was that they complained about .

Of course I have no idea of what exactly the moderator at Astrodienst told you, so can't tell if my thoughts apply at all in this particular case, but generally speaking I have to say that, so far, I love their forum and the attitudes of the people behind it. (For example, Alois' thoughts on why they gave up plans of incorporating an astrologically-based dating service, etc.)
Some new member of the Astrodienst forum "stole" my name, though ...
