I've read that taurus and cappy can have an influence.. I think we can all sing potentially, it's just about learning to use those muscles and hear tone - but maybe the style or energy behind it is indicated by the planets in the signs.

Good voices are associated to Taurus and Libra. Maybe a well aspected Venus too...

I don't know... My Venus is afflicted by a Uranus square and I remember that one time my neighbours got scared to death when I was singing "con te partiro" in the shower. They thought someone had an accident in my house

But when I am speaking normally, everyone likes my voice and find it very soothing (Venus in Pisces). The patients love it.

But in terms of singing, it all depends on the type of song...

I have an unaspected Gemini venus and I only sing in the shower....or alone in my car.

And apparently, I have a very low voice for a female so I don't know if I'd be able to hit high notes anyways. Or maybe I could be like a Cher or a Gloria Estefan.

I have Moon in Taurus, in 10th house. And it trines to Jupiter and Neptune in Capricorn. I also do have a singing voice. Very powerful! It's not like singing of a bird though. I guess Pluto opposition Moon makes it sound deep, mysterious, sexy and strong.

I love to sing! I think I am ok and good enough but certainly not the best. i am learning all the time. I sing with a band called angel blue and the prophets band. you can google to it. its rock/blues and retro stuff. I sort of belt out the music and don't really think much about what i am doing. its like the music goes thru me. just love it! I especially like stuff with lots of soul. i think my signs lend themselves to it.

I have

pisces sun
pisces moon
libra asc
taurus venus
pisces mars

my gf is taurus sun/virgo moon/leo asc/ aries venus and mercury/ gem mars/ aqua jupiter...she may not be good but she likes to sing quite a bit.

on the flipside, I am a scorp sun/aries moon/ cap rising/sag venus and mercury/ cap mars and jupiter and DO NOT like to sing.

But she always tries to get me too. 1% of the time it works for her.

Taurus is an awesome musical influence. Having a stellium there should absolutely predispose you to music.

Taurus singers:

Bono
Dave Gahan (Depeche Mode)
Stevie Wonder
Robert Smith (The Cure)
Burt Bacharach
James Brown
David Byrne (Talking Heads)
Glen Campbell
Cher
Bing Crosby
Billy Joel
George Strait

Libra's good, too.

Taurus dominates my 12th house, which may or may not be significant. My main artistic thrust comes from a nice circuit of energy flowing between my 5th and 7th houses. I've got the Moon conjunct Pluto in the 5th, and Venus conjunct Neptune in the 7th. Pluto is sextile the Venus/Neptune combo.

A lot of singers whom I adore have Venus in Capricorn: Frank Sinatra, Edith Piaf, Maria Callas, Dolly Parton, Tim Buckley, Elvis Presley, Robert Palmer, Billy Idol, Sarah McLachlan, and - my favorite - Björk. So does Justin Timberlake, but I'm not a fan of him. Venus in Capricorn seems to bestow a rich, intricate, emotionally-charged voice. Lucky people!

In charts, I look at Venus and Mars and the Moon to indicate how someone will express their artistic talent whatever it may be. I'm not so much into Taurus as being the one sign that shows vocal or musical prowess. Although I do seem to like Taurus Sun with Capricorn Ascendant, like Bono and Trent Reznor. I like Taurus Sun when combined with darkness and angst, I guess. I've always thought Robert Smith has a Capricorn Ascendant, too, and he's one of my all-time favorites. I also believe that with singing, just like any other art, there needs to be innovation and passion and not just technical ability. Like Kelly Clarkson. She has a great voice, a nice stellium in Taurus. She bores me. Björk has zero Taurus and she's Scorpio x3, so traditionally an astrologer wouldn't peg her as a great musician or singer. But I love her music and her voice and I think she's an unequaled visionary.

I used to get angry while listening to NIN's first album. I think I caught his vibe a little too much. Had to restrict myself once I realized that was happening.

Nef,

Tim Buckley? Oh... nevermind. I googled him. I thought it was a typo, and you meant Jeff Buckley (who's got a very emotive voice). Two of the singers on your list are Capricorn Suns as well. You made me think of Eddie Vedder as well. He's a Capricorn with Jupiter in Taurus and Neptune in Scorpio (There are lots of musical possibilities for his chart to go based on the time of his birth. A Pisces ascendant would mean his Virgo stellium would end up in the musical 7th house. A Scorp ascendant would put his Sun in the musical 2nd house. Cancer ascendant would put his Virgo stellium in the 2nd.)

Hmm, I guess while thinking about it I haven't come across people with venus in taurus specifically that I like (I guess I will have to be the first ) - but there are people with taurus influences in general that I enjoy a great deal.

I prefer passion in the voice too, I think a well-developed voice is worthless without it. Ideally though I like the best of both worlds - what I consider technical is probably different than most people however. Anyway my thoughts on the matter goes back to the signs not being so important as much as the soul of the person, but I do think certain placements might help with technical gifts more than others, whether it's an emotional gift or physical one in regards to singing.

I also think it's something you can work at and achieve regardless of your placements, if it is in your heart to do so.

AG ~ I love Jeff Buckley's voice, too. I don't know if there's a more beautiful male (or female) vocal than his rendition of "Hallelujah." Jeff he got his three-and-a-half octaves from his dad, Tim, who had four octaves. Both also died at 28, poor souls. I'll have to look at Vedder's chart. I liked the first 2 Pearl Jam cds, but didn't follow them through the years. I certainly admire Vedder's passion and belief in what he does.

NA ~ No slagging meant to Taurus Venusians! I'm sure that there are singers with that placement that I like, I'm just not aware of it because I don't know their chart. And I'm right there with ya' about the soul of the person. If a person is meant to be a singer, or any type of artist, they're going to do it. Their chart serves as an indication of how they will express themselves, or what their challenges may be in their field.

There's a band called Ours whose lead singer kept getting compared to Jeff Buckley when they came out. He's got a great voice as well.

I share some placements with Eddie Vedder. I think John Denver and I have the same Sun and ascendant.

I play drums primarily, but I also sing harmony in both bands I'm in (and I play bass a bit, though that's more of a hobby). My 5th house is packed, all Scorpio, with Saturn in Taurus. I also have a lot of Libra in my chart.

I love to perform, but only if I can hide while doing it (ie; behind a lot of drums and cymbals). I also love to sing lead, and do so at home, in the car, while I practice the drums (all situations where no one can hear me sing lol). I could never stand center stage and do it.
