Sd, Most of your posts I find quite troubling. Perhaps you ought to see a therapist?

Yeh, I make a doctor's appointment so he/she can refer you to a mental health clinic, which is what I did. There was a waiting list, but not a long one. I did a paper on Seasonal Affective Disorder a few years ago and your symptons sound a little like it, but the up and down moods sound more like Bipolar, since the moods are cyclic. Things can be ok for a while and resurect themselves again. The change of seasons are probably aggrivating them. IP: Logged |

I feel similar when I have anxiety attacks; My chest feels like there is something in there with a knife or something. It hurts really badly when I inhale also.Although I don't think you're having bipolar symptoms. Your loved ones would immediately pick up the changes in your attitude and tell you. SAD may not be it either, since it is now mid-spring. You are most likely experiencing a type of panic/anxiety disorder, which isn't a huge deal. None the less you should definitely go to a doctor and get properly diagnosed. IP: Logged |

It's important not to be quick to diagnose people. God knows I've gotten enough of that. When I mentioned the idea of seeing a therapist I wasn't necessarily suggesting that for the purpose of a clinical diagnosis. I think it's best to avoid psychiatrists and go with psychotherapists. They are there to talk to you and help you through your problems rather than slapping a label on you and drugging you up.------------------ Cancer Sun/Leo Moon/Leo Rising/Sun and Moon in 12th House. for tomorow Your negative side Weak, transient effect: Today during the day you are inclined to keep your feelings and innermost thoughts to yourself. A sense of loneliness or isolation frequently accompanies this period of time, or depression and a general sense of pessimism. Domestic problems may also accompany this influence, usually because you feel that in some way your domestic life is not giving you what it should. This is part of a larger feeling that you are not getting support or assistance from anyone or anything, which may or may not be true. Your real problem is either that you are cut off from your emotions or that your emotions are too unpleasant to deal with. This influence may force you to briefly experience what you consider to be your negative side. Thus there is a strong conflict between what you think of yourself and what you think you should be.

Thank you for writing this! You made me f'n proud and happy! There are so few people that know the difference between psychiatrists and psychotherapists, and so many people getting the wrong help from the wrong professionals. All emotional problems require a type of therapy based on understanding the (hidden) MEANING of things and accompaning the patient with such empathy that he/she gradually starts to elaborate what is chaotic and unconscious. In the case of bipolar disorder, some medication must be taken, to act as a "parachute", until the therapy itself organizes the patient. Since only psychiatrists are allowed to prescribe medication, I would advise Sd09 or any person in deep distress to seek a competent psychiatrist with PSYCHOANALYTICAL formation (they are rare), to work in a face-to-face (not couch) setting. When the professional is competent and the therapy evolves well over the years, the acute symptoms of the bipolar disorder eventually go away. But not many people will tell you that, cause there are so many ways of working in Psychology and most of them are pathetically incompetent. Sd09, you hang on there man! There is always a way out, even when it's not visible And you'd better find it, cause we're supposed to end up in French Polynesia under palm trees with hot chicks around us, remember? IP: Logged |

SD0g...I hope you're feeling better. Hang in there...Yeah, as already commented on, only go to a psychiatrist if you need drugs prescribed...or some shock therapy (they love to scare you with that one, that happened to a friend once who was going thru a lot and went in to talk to one) run fast when they get out their little prescription pad lol Sending some sunshine your way...if you think it's SAD, how about one of those special lights in your house to help with it?

Hi. When i read this topic i felt i had to write something. I suffer from panic attacks too and they come and go and get sowrse in winter well so i think anyway! But its been 2 and a half years im slowly getting over it but it always comes back everynow and then when im over stressed. My advice to you is dont take drugs if you do and dont drink because my first pani attack happened when i lost control of myself when i smoked marijauna for the first time. I was so happy before any of this nothing could bring me down. Im actually even goi8ng through some heavy transits which are making me more crazy. But just like you i think i have bipolar and everything else and i honestly convince myself i have it when i dont but i cant help but think it. Its called hypochondria which happens to almost all people with panic disorder. Your just trying to resolve it in your head why your panicking and im not even going to open the links where it says bipolar and that seasonal thing because i can guarantee i will think ive got it too and have a panic attack. I made myself believe i was going blind and death and thought so deep into it i actually started to have blurry vision and got blocked ears from allergies i was making myself sick. I finally started recovering when i changed my life and started getting out of the house and before whatever emotion i felt during the times i was really bad id panic over it. I had really bad derealisation i didnt believe i was in this world and i thought i was going to develop schitzophrenia but i didnt! Somehow wheni started going to cohignitive behaviour therapy i started getting better i did all of this without medication too. I never finished my therapy but i got the hang of it and picked myself up from there. And then i was really good for 3 months and i just went back to day 1 out of nowhere. So now when i feel like im gonna panic i tell myself bring it on i dont give a **** hurry up and get it out of the way and it started working for me. I started not fearing panic attacks i just go lay down. And if i really freak out i jump up and occupy myself. I knowe ur thinking easier said than done but it just happens in time dont be scared of panicking. Im 23 too and im young and i feel like sometimes its never gonna go away but it does. be strong and you dont have bipolar disorder. Well i dont think you do. ITs just anxiety. And we get anxious over different things at different times. People with serious mental conditions never acknowledge they have it because they think theyre normal. I have some really bad transits at the moment too maybe you do too. I have : Pluto square ascendant Pluto opposing midheaven Pluto conjunct neptune Pluto conjunct IC Pluto trine venus Pluto opposing moon (on my midheaven) Pluto opposing north node I really hope things get better for you and i know where your coming from i wish i could do something to help you. Noone helped me and noone knew what i was going through i was trapped in my own mind i couldnt sleep i couldnt function even wwhen i was having fun i was fighting panic attacks in my head. Well i clicked on the link and as soon as i started reading my heart started racing and im thinking whther i have that condition also. I toko myself to a mental institutuoion and they diagnosed me with borderline personality traits or something its been 2 years suince that day and ive diagnosed myself with a million other things that i dont even think i have that. Its like i update my medical condition every year with something worse, think positive. Not that i can take my own advice that well but try anyway!!
