I was discussing this on H.I.'s Horny thread at FFA and now I am very curious as to what astrologically might have worked for us in staying together for so very, long. In August we will have been married now for 42 years. Although every anniversary my husband says it seems like 100 years. LOL

You and your husband have very complimentary charts. Some soul mate connections and an all around nice fit.
The ruler of your descendant (Saturn) his is conjunct your Ascendant
His 12th house Sun, your Moon in Pisces
His Moon opposite your Sun etc.

The one thing that really stands out especially for longevity would be your rising signs. Cancer Rising with a Taurus Sun is making a lifetime investment and it would take a catastrophy for them to change courses. I always think of Barbara Streisand in "The Way We Were" when I think of a Taurus. Stubborn, Loyal, and Relentless Workers.

So, it is there in the charts. I guess if there is such a thing as a soul mate I got lucky and found mine early on in life.

I noticed that our charts both have all, if not most of, our placements on the left side of the chart. I don't really know how to just look at a chart and read them but I found that amazing and felt it might explain our compatibility.

His name is Frank ( short for Francis ) but I call him by his childhood nickname, Butch. I have known him since I was 12 years old so that is his name to me. I had to ask for Frank when I called him at work before he retired and it felt weird every time I said that. lol

What a fascinating synastry!! Yet another example of a chart of an enduring committed partnership, where there are only a few traditional partnership markers, and few nodal contacts -- supporting the premise that it takes more than perfect (or even good) synastry to make a great marriage.

Lia has been working all day this weekend but when she gets a day off and the time I want to sit down with her and pour through all of this and get her thoughts. Then we will let you know. She can further explain some of your interpretations for me. I am such an idiot when it comes to astrology.

So much of what I read in your info here I know to be true of our relationship. Yes, we are very sexually compatible. Fireworks every time. *grins and lights up a cigarette just thinking about it* hee hee

Communication has always been great between us. We have always been able to work out things in our marriage due to our ability to communicate our feelings and relate to each other.

Family and especially our kids and grandkids have always been important to us. We were kind of weird that way. Yeah, there were times when we would take a weekend trip just the two of us to get away from the daily routine but mostly we would grab up the kids and do everything with them. All through our marriage we took a week's vacation with the kids. He coached and managed our youngest son's Little League team and we always attended all of their games.

As far as the competiveness thing , that has cropped up from time to time. You know Virgos. They are always right. However, I let him know when he isn't. Which he does to me as well. lol

Always being "in love" has been a big factor in our marriage. There are times when I just look at him or he does or says something and it makes me fall in love with him all over again. He has told me it has always been that way for him too.

I just noted something I missed in relation to those *fireworks* you were mentioning

     Both of you are practical and down to earth. Butch (Mirandee's hubby) is more precise and more of a perfectionist than Mirandee. Butch (Mirandee's hubby) is also more easily worried and more inconsistent.

Wow, I'm so happy that I asked for this synastry comparison of mine and Butch's charts. It may have even served to make me see all the more that there may be more to astrology than I imagined. Mainly because all that you and Zala said here in the interpretations of our charts is so right on the mark.

Now I know where that restlessness in Butch comes from. He can't sit still. He has to be constantly moving. When he does have to sit still he gets antsy and starts fidgeting. We are different that way. I have sitting and relaxing down to an art form. :) So I just let him do what he feels he has to do and he is the same with me.

Regarding us making very good friends, yes we are. He is and always was my best friend and I his. We started off as friends first. It was that ability to communicate and tell each other our feelings that connected us in the first place.

Butch is loved by everyone he meets. He is more outgoing than I am with strangers. He never really meets a stranger. :) Always joking around and making people laugh. Easy going guy. He comes off as not being a sensitive, deep person as your analysis stated, AG but he is moved to tears over a program that shows people in heroic acts of helping other people, or anything touching. I love the movie "Beaches" and made him watch it with me. He called it a "chick flick" but at the end he cried right along with me. When I joked with him about that he told me it was my fault. lol

All 5 of our grand kids adore him. He is playful and makes them laugh all the time. The older ones tease him back now. And when he gets on them for something they are just crushed. With me they take it in stride. ;)

I am going to save yours and Zala's interpretations and print them out so he can read them too. I want to go over them more.

This is very true of me. I never get angry with people who may differ in opinion from me because I value the opinions of others. It is only when they deride in some way my opinion that I am moved to anger.

Regarding the anger, it was funny that my grand daughter, Ayla, stated in a report she had to do for school about someone she admired that " My grandma is old but she is very pretty and nice. But when she gets mad she sounds just like a lion." lol Amazing that she drew that correlation with the lion since my mars is 2 degrees in leo.

You and AG's interps seem pretty on the mark. I would say a lot of the time, they function subconsciously as a unit.
In other words, I get a sense that even when they aren't consciously thinking about whatever they're doing, the other somehow places their half of whatever is needed in the moment and comes together as a whole. It's trippy. And they have a history of reading each other's thoughts.

Power struggles?? oh yeah.
They both have ultimate Earthly patience, but my Dad can be the king of sarcasm and bottled emotions. He's more passive aggressive, whereas my Mom just comes out with it full force. She's more direct and confrontative, he's much more subversive and escapist. But they're communication in the end always pulls it back together. She somehow always pulls sh*t out of him, ...and he somehow always calms her. They reassure each other and remember and work it out.

I couldn't imagine one without the other.
I really couldn't.

Like she said, they cared so much for me and my brothers and did everything with us. Considering both of their traumatic and neglected childhoods,
they have amazed me with how they overcame to be the parents they were.
I know I've been blessed.

That other grotesque stuff,
thankfully I cannot say, lol.
