6. Immortal Lovers (Ooh baby, ooh baby)
Now here's one you probably haven't heard of before...

The Immortal Lovers clue concerns the minor asteroids named Eros and Psyche. If this is a relationship between a male and female -- then first look for the male's birth Eros conjuncting the female's birth Psyche. This even appears to work with sign conjunctions which aren't in orb. In my experience, finding this cross aspect between lovers is fairly rare... at the same time, finding a double whammy between family members seems to be rather common (which is sort of a scary thought, but consistent with many of the differing theories on reincarnation).

Bringing it down a notch, this also seems to work fairly well with (in orb) aspect oppositions and squares. Then, to a much, much, much lesser degree, it can work with trines and sextiles. (Although, as a strong general rule I don't consider trines and sextiles when comparing Eros and Psyche.)

Then... check to see if anything's up between the female's birth Eros and male's birth Psyche. Finding a double whammy cross aspect between lovers (involving conjunctions, oppositions and squares) is rare...

Paul's Eros was in aspect opposition Linda's Psyche and Linda's Eros was sign conjunct Paul's Psyche (another double whammy).

For those folks interested in checking for cross aspects between Eros and Psyche, the only software packages I know of that can calculate Eros and Psyche (such as Solar Fire 4) are a wee bit expensive. So a less expensive alternative is the free Astrodienst Online Chart Service which offers an option for manually adding in any of the asteroids.

EROS
Love is definitely the province of this little body. Find Eros in a person's twelfth house and you almost always find someone who wants love, wants to be loved so much, yet who finds themselves always either without someone to love, or in a love situation that brings them great pain. Find Eros in a person's first house, though, and you find someone who has a lot of love to give and who meets each new person with the desire to share this feeling. Initially at least this type has a non-discriminatory approach to people and wants to be close to everyone.

Eros is definitely love, touch, and affection, but it also has a great deal to do with physical love. If the rest of the chart does not contradict, a strong Eros gives a strong need for physical contact with others, especially sex. It can also add charisma, and the ability to charm almost anyone. (This is especially noticeable with Eros conjunct the ascendant. Such a person charms instantly and has what seems to be almost total emotional openness.)

The word 'erotic' comes from Eros, and this is a big factor in the lives of people with close Eros aspects. It is not uncommon to find that a person with a close Eros conjunct Sun, Moon, Venus or Mars is quite promiscuous, or has been for a partof his/her life.

My research verifies Dr. Lehman's observation that "If one person's Eros makes an aspect to another person's planet, the Eros person is smitten with the Planet person." But I have also found the planet person often returns the feeling, even if his Eros makes no aspect in reciprocation.

Mythologically, Eros (love) was in love with Psyche (soul). Eros shows a longing for completeness, and gives clues to finding one's 'soulmate.'

Eros can often be the force of love which changes someone's life. For example: John's Eros is exactly square to Mary's ascendant. She had been trying to break a particular bad habit all of her life but with no success. Shortly after she met him, he told her he would be happier if she no longer gave in to the temptation. She was able to break her habit very quickly, and never started up again during the whole very intense relationship.

In transits, what Eros tends to bring are sudden attractions, erotic feelings, thoughts and dreams. But unless other factors also come into play, nothing significant will usually result.

My Eros is also in water at 18 degrees Pisces.

My Psyche/Eros midpoint is at Capricorn 14 degrees two degrees away from my Jupiter at 16.

My Psyche is conjunct my Asc in my 12th house- Scorpio
My Eros is conjunct my Venus and Uranus in 11th house, Libra.

I am going to investigate... but this doesn't look good (looks pretty dull...)

Her Ascendant and Mars trine my Psyche, 1 degree orb.

Her Eros and my Eros are in Capricorn but not conjunct.

Her Psyche is Quincunx My Psyche with a 2 degree orb. Her Psyche also trines my Moon and Pluto with a 2 degree orb and squares Uranus with a 1 degree orb.

Her Eros trines my Psyche with a 2 degree orb.

My Eros conjuncts her Neptune and sextiles her Sun, Pluto and Karma. 1 degree orb.

Thus, there are several valid cross links.

Note that these are in addition to the Valentine-True Node double whammy and Composite Isis conjunct Composite Osiris in our charts.

my Eros in Aries opposite his Psyche in Libra
his Eros/Mars in Scorp conjunct my Psyche in Scorp

Both have 2-deg orbs. Our Eros' land in each other's 4th houses. 'Immortal Lovers.' Nice.

Our Psyches also aspect each other Moons.
