Hi all,

I just checked Phil McGraw's birth date and would never have guessed that he is a Virgo (Sept 1, 1950).

I am Virgo myself, and I have tried to guess his sign just for the fun of it. I thought he was Taurus with some Aries/Libran (or possibly Capricorn with some Aries/Libran) - just a feeling... Sometimes it works, this time it didn't ;-))

Does anyone know his wife's birthday?

Virgo's keyword is "Service" remember.I've read they make great counselors,so it should come as no surprise that he is a Virgo. The Virgo boy I like is always "counseling" people-friends,family,even strangers in Starbucks!I love his compassion, even when he breaks my heart.I told him he should be a psychiatrist!LOL!!HA....he was telling me one time about "counseling" one of his friends that was having relationship problems, and he said he kinda felt like Dr. Phil. They do have similarities...My guy also is Virgo Sun,Water Rising(Cancer),Earth Moon(Virgo),and Venus in Leo.

Im a virgo sun Taurus moon I think Dr Phil is nasty and uses people in trouble to boost his ratings and ego. Lining his pockets and bullying people in need of help.if he really wanted to help people he would be in private practice. He is just trying to advance himself and his kentucky fried wife.

I felt a bit compelled to add something here - oh god another Libra offering an unsolicited opinion 'heaven forbid!'

Ok, I am neither for or against Dr Phil specifically (I don't know him personally), however if we did not have TV shows like his that talk about personal issues and problems in a public and confronting manner, we would be left in a world bereft of the opportunity to stop men beating their wives, parents raping and beating up their kids behind closed doors, teenagers dying of anorexia or self harming themselves, and the rest of us 'neighbours' walking around looking at the ground saying "t'ain't nothin' to do with me!"

Sure TV companies are making excellent ratings on these shows, and hence are making money, but what is the alternative - censorship and 'private' suffering?

I agree with cat71.

Whether you like Dr. Phil or not, we do need people to bring certain issues to the forefront. Even if everything you said about Dr. Phil was true and he only cared about ratings, he may still help people to work through their problems.

We all know that there are people in the world who cannot afford to pay for therapy or perhaps do not even recognize that it would benefit them. Even if his show helps a fraction of the people who watch it to consider their individual issues, then it is still providing a service.

That sounds about right!!! I remember seeing his name listed in an astrology book I was reading as a Virgo, and I said, "Yep, that sounds about right to me!"

What did shock me about him though is that this is his second marriage. It was to my understanding that most Virgo's either 1) Don't marry, 2)Never remarry, or 3) Die old maid or bachelors!!!

I guess everybody sees things there own way.... I think all of these issues have been done to death in the 1990s. I still think Dr Phil is a sadist and a bully. And i dont think people need to air their personal business on TV. I also believe if some of them were asked after the fact a lot of them were more more damaged after being on the show

pre-fame Dr. Phil had a session with my older sis when I was a wee lass of about 3 or 4. He did help her with goal setting, but she still continued to beat the crap out of me for years. It would have taken more than a single session to deal with that, though.

When I saw this post it made me laugh... I have worked for Dr. Phil for 4 years and I do know him personally!

Nattie, I understand your skepticism, but I can tell you that in my experience the vast majority of people that come on the show make BIG changes in their lives. Sure, there are those folks that go home mad that they got called out on their stuff and dig in their heels even deeper. But they are few and far between.

And, sharing one's problems on TV is NOT for everyone, certainly. But I assure you all guests on the show write in BEGGING to talk to Dr. Phil - that's how these folks are booked. They seek HIM out and choose to open themselves up. It's the tradeoff...they willingly share their story with the world to talk to the man that they hope has answers for them. They are not sought out. They are people that watch the show, they know his style, and they ask for his help. No surprises.

Do producers book colorful stories on the show? Sure. IT's television - if there are no ratings, it gets cancelled! I dont think that makes Dr. Phil some kind of demon. It's business. I think you can help people AND make an abundant living as well!

Just my two cents!

PS - Phil and Robin have been nothing short of amazing to work for.

I agree with Cat71 and Love; while I don't believe there is anything spectacular about what he's doing (its basically common sense) if it weren't for shows like his, alot of issues that need to be brought to the forefront would be left behind closed doors.

I notice that he and Robin have a grandtrine in their synastry.....an earth grand trine at that (his sun and moon to her sun). It makes sense, considering the work they do for others (earth grand trines are supposed to be VERY productive, especially between two people).

I like Dr. Phil. My mother used to work with one of his ex-business associates. But, I have no memories of him as a child.

It makes sense he has a pisces asc, that's also how he can sense when people are being real or BSing. I see his pisces in his eyes once inawhile.
