Hello. I'm new to post but have been reading this site trying to gain any information that could possibly shed light on my situation.
You see I was born on Monday, Feb. 11th at 2:28am, 1957 in San Antonio, Texas. My daily concern is that I am FIFTY years old and have never married, never co-habited with a man. Yet I do have a 20yr old wonderful daughter from a relationship I really thought would lead to marriage. Only later did I find out this man who appeared too good to be true was really that. come to find out he hadn't divorced yet and bedsides seeing me for 2 years he was seeing someone else and now she has a son from him. Boy can I pick them!
Anyway, my reason for posting is to get some feedback about what is it in my background that keeps men from being attracted to me. I realize I am overweight but people always say I'm cute and look mid 30's instead of 50. I scraped my way through LVN then RN school and have been in nursing now for 33 years (started in junior year of high school--awarded scholarship for good grades--) and make a good living.
My choices of men has always seemed to be the worst in that they were either emotionally unavailable, drank too much, didn't want to work, or had women attached. Looking back I guess the "bad boys" were exciting to me but even so, why didn't any of them want to marry me? Back in my 20's to 30's I was quite a looker who liked to go out and party and there was no lack of men following me around. It just seems these werent' the men I wanted long term/ day to day and intellectually I knew it wouldn't continue. but now look at me, 50 years old, overweight, and my daughter is soon to leave the nest and I have no one, no companion to share time with.
To be truthful, it's now been 10 years since I last had a boyfriend and I feel ashamed. Ashamed because I know it's not about how fat I am because I have too many positives about me...so why not me? I see other women who are less attractive they have no lack of male companionship.
so I wonder, is it something is my "chart" that tells my story or some words of wisdom that someone can share to give me peace about this. Maybe I'm one of those women just meant to be alone till death.
Thanks for any insight.

Hi flowerpower

The first thing I note is your Fixed Grand Cross with Venus opp Uranus and Neptune opp Mars.
The past couple years have probably not been easy ones, as you’ve just gone thru your Chiron Return.
Transiting Uranus is just about to cross your IC – there may be changes coming up in your exterior “home” and your interior “foundation”.
I wonder if you’re feeling foggy, adrift without an anchor, like you just can’t grasp anything solid?? That would be transiting Neptune conjoining your Sun.

The Venus opp Uranus could be part of your difficulties. There are strings here discussing that and I’ll try to find the links for you. Venus/Uranus doesn’t mean you CAN’T find love, not by a long shot!! Just that there are difficulties. I suspect the older one gets, and the better one knows oneself, the less this aspect will matter. Our charts are *Potentials*-- things to struggle against and be challenged by – not FATE.

Welcome firepower
First of all dittos to what Zala wrote.
General descriptions of a few of your aspects:
  • Venus square Mars
You may be uncomfortable with displays of emotion and pushy or aggressive people; at the least you find them challenging and thought-provoking. Your basic drive, passionate enthusiasm and ambition may tend to feel incompatible with your more gentle and loving qualities. Emotional and sexual tension can run high, and you will face difficult choices regarding conflicting desires.
  • Moon square Jupiter
The path (spiritual or career) that you take may go against your family?s wishes, and thus sometimes be a lonely one. Their support will be hard-won, if it comes at all. There is also some danger that you could overextend, making decisions that go against your own feelings and best interests. Career choices might come at the expense of home and the comfort of familiar surroundings; perhaps success requires that you move or travel alot. Your emotional security is often at stake. Difficult choices have to be made.
  • Mars opposed Neptune
You may feel some contradiction between your ideals and dreams and your need for achievement. Your practical and pragmatic side has little patience with mysticism and metaphysics, and you might feel open hostility to those pursuits. Yet something within you or someone close to you keeps beckoning you to explore the unseen realms, and you feel intrigued by what you don?t understand. You have a very creative imagination, but tend to resist its expression. Some sense of conflict here.
  • Venus opposed Uranus
You tend to oppose or dismiss ideas (or people) that are very unconventional. You appreciate conformity and tradition, and want your life to be comfortable and predictable. However, there might be times when you break through your conservatism and do something unexpected, maybe even radical or outrageous.
All of the above would be refined/augmented by House Positions and rulerships amoungst other considerations. And again as Zala said the chart is a road map.
We make the concious decisions called free will as to how we do/don't utilize energy.
And on a non-astrological note one thing I would like to point out is perhaps obvious but worth mentioning. Rarely before in human history has the 'older' woman been more villafied. Granted the positive press stems from the bulk of our population aging itself. And the 'celebrity' examples offered are buffed, puffed, and airbrushed to perfection. Surgical cosmetic enhancements are not affordable to all. But my point is that women of a certain age are no longer thrown into the dustbin. The population is aging so our perceptions are changing. All to the better!
Sexuality, love, lust, desire....ED drugs for men so they can keep up till the desire is gone. And is the desire ever gone?
I guess what I am saying is it aint over till it's over What ever we really want is usually attainable. Just have to look within first I guess. Cheers-Node

YES....that's ME! I see myself in these responses. As I look back at my life I see how I have really gone (and who hasn't but I guess I never thought I would regret it this much) changed from wild and crazy, to settled, very conventional, very predictable and feeling like I have a giant wall up that people can't get over. But I don't know how to knock it down.
In alot of ways I think I keep the weight on because it keeps anyone from being attracted to me and thus keeps my life "undisturbed" and I struggle with this because I feel I'm not living life to the fullest.
I am currently undergoing treatment for cancer (early stage, thanks to God) and this has made me think about my life so much more than ever and of how I could make it better. I am content with my career, I make decent money, my bills are paid, my daughter is healthy and happy and I am so thankful for all this. The one area that I just can't seem to connect to is a relationship. It's almost like I'm invisible to the opposite sex.

I liked how you called her "firepower" instead of "flowerpower"

    flower ~

Your situation is very much like my own – involved with an unstable partner years ago, then raising your child alone (I’m raising a son). I’m sad that you’re feeling ashamed about yourself If you feel you are unloveable (for whatever reason) others will pick up that vibe and not be drawn to you. The type of partner you seek will be attracted to an independent, confident woman – and I think you are. Look what you’ve done in the last several decades, all by your onesies!!

I was studying your progressed chart today and there are some items that lead me to believe that the next 5 years things may change in the relationships department. I'm neither a professional astrologer nor psychologist, but after re-reading the following link, I thought perhaps some things might resonate with you, in terms of things to work on in the direction of finding what you seek, so I’m putting it here.....

    North Node in Scorpio

Ran across an interesting quote cleaning off my desk:
"If I'm being made to wait, it's because I'm being prepared for something great!"
Wondering, or telling yourself “Maybe I'm one of those women just meant to be alone till death.” isn’t very productive. It may indeed be what the future holds, but is there any point on dwelling on it?? I believe we’re here at SchoolRoom Earth to learn about and grow our Selves. Growing is something that can only happen inside you – no one else can do the work but you. Relationships happen best when you don’t NEED to be in a relationship, when the two people involved each bring a whole person to the relationship, instead of seeking their “other half” or someone to “complete them.”

You have a wonderful daughter, a satisfying career, but what do you do just for YOU?? Hobbies?? Is there an activity you are passionate about?? Somewhere you can meet people (not just men) with the same interest?? If your daughter is leaving the nest this will free up time for you to concentrate on just you, after years of 24/7 parenting. A whole new phase of life is opening up for you!!! What will you do with it??

PS: Just noting nSaturn on your Asc and Sun opposite Pluto. This may make you seem somewhat intense and/or serious to others, while your Cancer Moon is gentle and empathetic. Your Moon sign is a bit at odds with your Aquarian Sun, an Air sign who approaches Life mentally, rather than on a feeling-level. Integrating your Air Sun, Water Moon and Fire Ascendent is a wonderful path of self-discovery -- I'm on the same ride (Libra Sun, Pisces Moon, Leo Asc).

PPS: Wishing you well on the cancer-treatments -- I have a feeling you will recover just fine

I very much understand where you are coming from...I have difficult configurations in my chart as well and have had to accept the fact that I may be alone (besides my 2 daughters)forever. I used to attract loosers with a capital L! I have learned to love myself and be happy being alone, and really, I quite like it!

I just have to mention what Zala said about Uranus crossing your IC. I am experiencing that now as well...so far I have purchased a new refrigerator, lawn mower, microwave had my dishwasher fixed twice and am having to vaccine my oak trees against oak wilt as I have lost 2 so far....DUCK!!!

BTW I live in San Antonio and am a RN.

ZALA---??? for you...does the grand cross incorporate the angels as well, or does my Jup, Mars, Merc in the 3rd in Aqua oppo Uranus, squared to my Moon in Taurus oppo my Scorp asc count for a T square. Whichever being in fixed signs is as you say difficult!

    Terri ~

Problem solved: I had birthplace wrong
I see your 3 t-squares..... personal preference I guess but I do not use points like your Asc (angles, nodes, vertex, etc) as part of a major aspect configuration. There are those who do: Tim was thrilled with my Grand Sextile, but I don't count it since he used my NN and MC to get there.....
Know any late-Scorpios to help release the energy into the empty leg??

    flower (and hippi) ~

Here's an interp for a Fixed Grand Cross:

FIXED: Taurus, Leo, Scorpio and Aquarius.

Fixed signs follow the Cardinal signs, and their purpose is to sustain and maintain what the Cardinal signs created and initiated. This is expressed in their focus of self-worth. Fixed signs have a tendancy to resist all outside efforts to initiate change. Cardinal signs have the impulsive trait to deal with and Fixed signs have the stubborn trait.

When the Fixed Cross is triggered by transits or progressions, this Grand Cross of four planets react by digging their heels well into the dirt to resist any of the external energy that may change the status quo. When the Fixed Cross decides to take action, its action is much like a steamroller and anything in its path can be flattened. It’s hard to stop the action taken by this quad once organized and initiated.

In examining a Fixed Grand Cross, look at the planets and house that are expressed by the Cross. This is where the self worth issue comes to focus and can be where the Fixed Grand Cross individual will take matters personally and look at people, places, and things actions as an attack on their own self worth. So to suggest a personal change to a Fixed Grand Cross individual would be met with resistance. You just would not find a Fixed Grand Cross individual easily participating in one of the way too many reality shows dealing with makeovers unless other factors such as trines play into it.

When a transiting planet hits one planet of the Cross, it will activate all the planets' energies, and any planets aspecting the other 3 planets in the Cross, and light up your chart like a switchboard. I daresay it sometimes feels like you're being shot at from every direction, if you have a lot of connections to the Grand Cross!!
You have some nice trines, flower -- Neptune/Moon and Jupiter/Venus -- to balance some of the more difficult energies.
