Hello,

I am kind of new here. I am working on learning astrology as a kind of hobby or something...more along the lines of another one of my masochistic interests for which I will have to thank / blame for my lack of a real life... LOL!

Anyway, back to the topic at hand. I have been focusing primarily on learning the natal (and a little of the synastry) side of it. I have a lot to learn, but I am getting there, slowly but surely. That being said, after reading many of the topics on this forum, and finding that my Saturn Return is looming, I took a slight detour into attempting to learn about that. Given the past 3 - 4 years that I have had, people's comments about it really had / has me worried. But, after having looked it up on a number of sites, I am now slightly confused...

Is it possible that a person could experience an early and extended Saturn Return? Pretty much everything that I have read about the Saturn Return sums up my life in the past 3 - 4 years...

It is really disturbing, actually, that it described so much of the stuff that I have been going through. In the past few years, I have re-evaluated my beliefs, desires, career, lifestyle, and pretty much everything I want out of life. I have completely given up my previous occupation due to, one, its lack of fulfillment on a personal level, and two, because of its unhealthy impact on my life (which amusingly enough was mentioned on one site about having a Saturn Return in Virgo). I haven't quite figured out what I want to do when I grow up, but I feel that I am finally headed in the right direction (which is far better than before, running as fast and furiously as I could in the wrong direction). I re-evaluated my relationships and what I want out of them, ending the one I was in and having the intention that I would spend some time focusing on me and getting my life on track before starting another. Amusingly enough, I ended up meeting the perfect man, not THE perfect man but the perfect man for me, the one where everything just "clicks" and feel "right" on every level (and, awesomely enough, "clicked" both ways). I have re-evaluated my life, lifestyle, and self to adopt habits to attempt to become more healthy physically, emotionally, and spiritually.

I re-evaluated what I wanted out of life, in my occupation and other aspects of my life, and I am currently, slowly but surely, attempting to achieve these new goals...which would invariably be the basis for my concern / interest about this Saturn Return event. While, like most things in my life, I would attempt to weather it and keep on trucking as best I can, all things considered, I could really use a bit of a respite here (couldn't we all?). I feel like I am finally making some progress at achieving something, not necessarily anything in particular, but something very important none-the-less, happiness and satisfaction in my life, not on a here-and-now level but on a far deeper, longer lasting, permeating, soulful need level. After reading some of the posts / topics about the "evil", life jarring Saturn Return that was apparently pending in my life, all I could think is that a new storm would be hitting right as I was attempting to lay the foundations of my new, better life.

But, as I was saying, what I have read about the concepts regarding the Saturn Return seem to parallel my life in the past few years. So, I was wondering if it is possible that there is some sort of similar transit / aspect that could cause a similar effect or something in a person's chart that would before they actually hit their Saturn Return? And, if so, what impact could the actual Saturn Return have when they did really experience it?

Thanks in advance for any insights!

I didnt actually see your birth date in the post what is it? yes you can have an extended saturn return. i am learning more on this after the fact. two reasons stand out being born during a retrograde period of saturn natally means saturn will return to your natal spot more than once. also if you have hard aspects to saturn natally it may begin showing up in your life much earlier than most people. i have saturn opposite mars natally and have had physical illness (bones/inflammation) that has gotten out of control.

Okay, so my Saturn is not natally in retrograde (thank the heavens). But, I do have Saturn square a stellium of Mercury, Mars, and Neptune straddling my 12th house cusp. Given that it is a stellium (not exactly a massive one, but still one) and a hard aspect, do you think that could be why it seems to have started earlier?

I was having SR-ish events happen to me years before the actual SR. So IMO, yes.

Maybe someone else can chime in but i think your career issues are result of your Uranus in 10th house. You have a need to work alone. People with this placement change job a lot until they find something fitting for them. Also Transistioning Uranus is leaving your 2nd house and going into 3rd house. Uranus is all bout changes. 2nd house was your income and they way you earn money. 3rd house is communications, have you started studying anything new recently? Or have you made any changes to your appearance(Transits of uranus sextile ascendant)?

Up until a few years ago, I was a software engineer. It did well, for a while (and from what I have heard is a Uranian occupation), but I found it to be very unfilling on a deeper level. It merely seemed pointless in the scheme of things. After a lot of introspection, while I do value a certain level of financial security that it afforded me and a level of achievement, my concepts of achievement and values in my occupation were far different from the ones I had superficial latched on to (not that they were necessarily superficial, just my level of depth in my comprehension of my own beliefs in achievement and values were). No doubt, Uranus in my 10th house has probably not only influenced the directions that I am currently look but also my inability to figure out which one I want to take.

Hmmm, initially I would say that while I can see its possible influence in my occupational changes, the changes I experienced seemed more all-encompassing in my life. I did change my occupation, after a level of introsepction and determining that my values, interests, long-term goals, belief in my life purpose, as well as my health and well-being were incompatible with my current path. That being said, I seemed to have done that in all aspects of my life (my relationships, my lifestyle, etc.). In the end, I have attempted to achieve a sense of peace and contentment in all aspects of my life, not only in the concept of the future, but also the here-and-now, and by extension sense of health and well-being on all levels.

But, perhaps your assessment may not be correct. I am new to learning astrology, but perhaps the transiting Uranus in my 2nd hosue prompt the initial changes that sparked it all. Given the amount of Scorpio in my chart and my natal Uranus in Scorpio, maybe any drastic changes (Uranus) would prompt introspect (Scorpio). Then finding that my occupational beliefs (etc) were superficial set off my Scorpio tendencies prompting not only introspection about what transiting Uranus was currently affecting but all things, and ovbiously the resulting transformations (Scorpio) necessary from the findings. And, with my Saturn in Virgo in the 8th house, any transformations (8th house) would focus on achieving a level of security (Saturn) based upon my own health and well-being (Virgo)? As I said, I am kind of new to this, so someone would have to let me know if I just went off the deep end there...

Would astrology count? LOL! Hmmm, astrology, aromatherapy (but that started around my birthday last year, how do I find out when this trasit started?), and a few other things... So, I guess that would definitely be a yes.

Actually, not really. I am pretty pleased with my appearance, though I have been getting my 2 years itch to do something different with my hair. I can never seem to go more than 2 years. But, I have been trying to ignore it, because I just grew it out from when I cut it all off to 1 inch long.

Thanks for you insights and anymore you might have! I appreciate it!!
