On a site I visited a long time ago, it said that Neptune and Pluto were very strong in my chart. It provided a very brief description (i.e. Neptune = strong imagination and Pluto = been through heaven and hell), but I'd like to learn more. Can anyone tell me anything more about having a strong Neptune (Capricorn, 12th house) and Pluto (Scorpio, 10th house) in a natal chart? If it helps, pluto aspects my mars, venus, moon , and midheaven while neptune aspects my mars, venus, ascendant, pluto and midheaven. Thanks! IP: Logged |

Any planet in the 10th is "strong" because it is part of your public image--everyone sees this part of you.Pluto is strong in its own sign, Scorpio, but with it in the 12th, your personal power is likely to be "forgotten." For a better answer, send me your data--time, place, date of birth, hand and eye dominance and real first name. Privately or here is ok. ------------------ You are a blessing and you are blessed. What about me?My Pluto is in Scorpio too but in the 1st house, no aspect to ASC but trines Mars and Moon (both in 5th house). It also sextiles my Capricorn Sun. What are the advantages and disadvantages? IP: Logged |

I would love to know the answer to this question, too. According to Lilly's strengths and debilities, Pluto (Libra, 9th house) is strongest planet in my chart, as well (tied with my Part of Fortune, but I don't know if that one counts, LOL). quote:

Good to know, thanks for the great info! I have heard that planets conjunct the MC are strong, too, even if they aren't in the 10th house. Would that also apply to the "public image" concept, or is that only relevant in vocational astrology? IP: Logged |

I have strong Neptune and Pluto in my chart as well. Neptune is in my 1st house, and it's singleton. And Pluto is conjunct my Sun and a makes a billion other aspects. It makes me a very "passionate dreamer" to say the least. Who's hard to get to know, intriguing, intense, and magnetic yet repellant, aloof, and disconcerting...
On a positive note, I tend to get what I wish for ten fold. That can go either way of course

I have both a strong neptune and Pluto as well. Pluto being in the 10th and aspecting my moon in the 8th and mercury. I tend to give off the "bitchy" vibes in public because of this. Neptune is hidden in my 12th but also aspects my moon and mercury, and my chart ruler (actually, a whole stellium) is in the 12th too giving this "neptune vibe" extra power. I am a daydreamer, extremely empathetic, and so on. I also have a strong mercurial influence too so with that in addition, I can't be "switched off" so to speak.I like Alanabelle's catchphrase "passionate dreamer". I don't think I could've coined it better. IP: Logged |

Astra,You can read about the aspects in many books and online. Astro.com will provide you with a free chart, and there is an option available to click on the planets and learn about their meanings. Just remember to take the individual interpretations with a grain of salt - they really need to be understood in the context of the whole; some things will be strenthened by similar influences elsewhere in the chart, and some things will be weakened. It takes a lot of study to read a chart accurately, locating the dominant themes, and eschewing the less significant factors. Astro.com will count aspects that are 10 degrees from exact, - in other words, if a square is 90% (and it is), then astro.com with count an 80% aspect or a 100% aspect as a square. This can be misleading. The most important aspects will be close to exact, and no aspect over 5' from exact is likely to be highly significant, unless it is a conjunction to the Sun or Moon, or unless there are very few aspects in the chart. So, look closely, and pay attention to the aspects that are close (the lines connecting the planets will be thicker, for one thing). Basically, when a person has Uranus, Neptune, or Pluto strongly placed, that person is in tune with generational influences. The person thinks and feels deeper than most, is not as tied to environmental conditioning (is a "citizen of the world"), and tends to appreciate the great themes in life; what have been termed "the eternal verities", or eternal truths. All three outer planets are intuitive. Uranus is intellectual, inventive, and conceptual, Neptune is imaginative, subtle, and pictoral, and Pluto is primal, gut-level intensity, depth, passion, and psychological insight. If I recall correctly, Pluto is in the same sign for 13 years at a stretch, maybe longer. So, most people in your generation have Pluto in Scorpio. It's more relevant for you because it is linked to the inner (personal) planets. But the house placement is more important and personal. Pluto in the 10th suggests a vocation that possibly involves healing (usually psychology, or energy work), channelling, secrecy, scandal, and/or power issues with authority figures. Neptune is at home in the 12th, and gives a great receptivity to mysticism. It may be easy for you to feel your connection to the All, or the One thread that runs through all life in the universe. Vintry,
If the aspects to Pluto are close, they are very helpful. Your will power can be tremendous, and you can have great insight into your own identity and ego energies. Your desire to nurture others is very deep, but may express itself in ways that are more far-reaching; in other words, you may not be seen as nurturing, but, in the long run, your tactics can nurture people at a very deep level. You may be more inclined to encourage people to face their fears and meet their shadows, rather than give them a shoulder to cry on. alcheme,
I think the Part of Fortune is very significant, and if Pluto is the closest aspect to it, that indicates a career path and a natural talent for investigation, healing, psychology, etc. I have the 9th house Pluto myself (ruling my Sun/Venus/MC/Uranus, and squaring my Ascendant), and its a big enough deal in my life for me to feel significant empathy with you right now. You may not feel very comfortable unless/until you leave the country of your birth. You have profound insight into spiritual matters, but this can be a curse as well as a blessing. You tend to see through every "answer" you find, and the quest is truly never-ending for you. As soon as you find a truth, you find a loop-hole in it. A test for you may be not to say "the hell with it" and give up looking. Your beliefs may change dramatically over the course of your life, so, try to remember that when you feel inspired to champion a particular perspective. You have a great capacity to devote yourself to an ideal, but you need to learn the difference between devotion and fanaticism. Try not to force feed your ideas to others, no matter how prophetic you believe they are. Also, you may have to "make your peace with God", whatever that means to you.
Yes, planets conjunt the MC are very strong, on either side (see the Gauquelins' research). I believe the MC may be as vital as the Asc. The angles move faster than the Moon, and are extremely personal - they are very YOU, in my opinion, unless other factors strongly contradict. alanabelle,
You should post your chart. I'm curious. pearlized,
Depends. Possibilities include, eccentric, genius, cold and analytical, impulsive, erratic, irresponsible, shocking, rebel or nonconformist, original, inventive, individualistic, authentic, a speaker of truth, and someone who is highly aware and charged. So,if 10th house reps "public image",would it go to say that an empty 10th house(aside from Eros),means I tend to stay out of the limelight? It is true.I'm very shy!But then again,I have Leo NN,so I'm "supposed" to learn to overcome this shyness(I think...),and be comfortable being the center of attention.------------------ S:Taurus ASC:Gemini M:Scorpio IP: Logged |

MoonDreamer:Check out this link: http://astrology.findyourfate.com/astrology-emptyhouses.htm It basically says that having an empty tenth house means you like leisure more than work, but I think your whole chart would have to be taken into account. IP: Logged |

Astra,You are welcome. But the strongest outer planet in your chart is neither Neptune nor Pluto, - it is Uranus, opposing your Sun by less than 1 degree. From the looks of your chart, I'd say you are highly intelligent (Sun in Gemini, opposite Uranus, conjunct Mercury and Trine Jupiter), although your emotions may cloud your judgement at times (Moon in 1st). You may find your I.Q. seems to fluctuate over time, but it will always be exceptional.

Heart-Shaped Cross:Really? Ugh! Astrology is really very confusing. I would've thought Pluto would have quite an impact on my personality since I'm very Scorpionic in my dealings with others. Well, I guess it's nice to know that I'm smart. So does having a strong uranus indicate that I would be good at the sciences? MoonDreamer: You're welcome! Hey, which one of us wouldn't prefer leisure to work?

Well, Pluto is opposite your Venus, - oppositions and Venus both relate to our relations to others. You may be very Plutonian in social and work situations.Happy Birthday, btw. IP: Logged |

In all the charts and readings I've had done, none ever mentioned any "strong" or "weak" points, positions, or placements. Would a reading have mentioned these or is there a specific site where this can be found out? IP: Logged |
